Cherry had actually been hit by the quick spear jab, but managed to ignore the new nagging pain in her side. Did they just unfuse? Hm. Well this changed things for Cherry's fighting style. Two smaller opponents, both with large weapons.. Cherry took a few steps back with a shocked look on her face for a few seconds. Her face went back to that of a focused, determined gem.
Her kanabo was ready, and so was Cherry. She managed to mostly block Pyre's attack but not entirely. It missed her main torso but went on to hit her in the right shoulder. She grunted in pain and stumbled just a bit. Cherry began her attempted counter attack on Pyre. If she could keep them on the defense she might be able to avoid being ganked. Cherry prepared for a quick combo against Pyre, and began the attempted combo with a horizontal strike aimed at Pyre's legs, followed by an attempt at an overhead smashing attack. She looked for the other one.. Wait, where was she?
Instead of attempting to dodge (something that wasn't exactly his specialty) Pyre took the blow to his legs using his ability to disperse the blow, allowing him to keep his solid footing and direct his attention to moving his weapon up to block the following overhead. He couldn't keep this up for long, but luckily he wouldn't need to. The few seconds he bought was just enough for Pye is appear behind Cherry with a quick horizontal slash followed by a pommel strike aimed at her gut.
Upon seeing Pye come up from behind Pyre went for a quick shoulder bash a few mere moments later, trying to keep Cherry off balance and scrambling to recover. If they could keep her in a position like this the fight could be over quite quickly.
Cherry was surprised such a small gem could take that hit with no difficulty, and the added blocking of her overhead didn't give her much confidence. This distracted Cherry and she gasped as the duo's attacks hit her, and she was thrown off balance, nearly collapsing to her knees if she hadn't leaned on her kanabo. She had gotten the wind knocked out of her and was still off balance. She needed to figure something out, and quick- otherwise she would lose this fight quickly.
She would need to use large, arcing swings to hit both of her opponents with one swing. Using smaller, controlled swings would help but would only let her focus on one at a time. She yelled as she did a large, powerful swing towards both of them, followed by a second one. If these powerful attacks hit, it might push them back far enough for Cherry to fully recover from their previous barrage of attacks. She would just have to hope at least one of them would be hit. If these missed it would leave her very vulnerable to attack from nearly all sides. It was a risk Cherry was fine taking.
At this point the two gems had rather exhausted themselves. Using their abilities combined with fusing and unfusing in such a short amount of time was nothing short of draining on their cores. Their plan had been to end the fight with their next couple attacks, if it lasted much longer than that then they'd both be unable to continue. Following that train of logic the two sacrificed defense in order to press the attack, moving to get another few quick strikes in.
However it was this all out attack that served to be their biggest mistake, becoming surprised by Cherry's sudden counter-offensive. The first strike hit home into Pyre's chin, knocking him a fair distance away from the fight onto his back. Distracted by her companion's injury Pye was caught off guard by the second swing, sending her flying upon striking her side.
She too landed prone, although unlike Pyre she was moving, "Oof, alright you win. I think we need a breather." her head fell back down, "Haha, wow that weapon really does pack a punch. Uh... you alright Pyre?" A quite grumbling could be heard from the seemingly unmoving form of Pyre, "Yeah, I'm going to lay here for a few days... good fight Cherry." It was clear from the fact he was talking through his teeth that the pain was still very present in his face.
(Sorry for the delay, I thought I had already posted this XD)
(It's no problem- My delay was much worse XP, sorry about that)
Cherry breathed a sigh of relief. She wasn't sure how many more hits she could take from Pyrope- singular or plural. Her stance relaxed as she leaned on her kanabo. "Yeah, that was a great fight! Glad we stopped where we did though, a few more hits and I probably would've collapsed.." She stretched a bit, desummoning her kanabo. She stepped over to the duo laying on the ground, and held out both of her hands to help them up. "We should spar again sometime! I had a lot of fun! But uh, if you do want to spar again, give me a day or two to recover from this match." She said, chuckling a bit at the end of her statement joke thing.
Both gems accepted her help up gratefully, groaning a bit at their sore forms reacting to the slightest bit of strain put on them. Pyre was first to speak, "I'd like to say we 'chose' to stop but uh... yeah, you're strong. Certainly a good fight, glad neither of us went too far." Pye chipped in, "We'd love to spar again some time too! But yeah we should give it some time. I think we'll all need a while to rest up."
The two dusted themselves off and stretched to work out the stress in their projections before grabbing each others hands and allowing their forms to glow and meld back into one. The fusion stood before Cherry, rubbing her temples as a major headache racked her skull. "I hope to be able to do some work with you at some point Cherry, I think we'd fight together pretty well. Especially with a bit more training. If you'll excuse me, I think I'm going to go enjoy some R&R."

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
