Euclase had let out a small giggle at Clear Quartz's comment about not looking too outmoded "Oh stop it,you'll make this old girl blush"
The ship continued along at its speed, the landscapes dancing below them at a rapid pace, mountains rising and falling, rivers slithering along and forests standing tall before cutting off. Punctuating through clouds as its blue colours did the best to hide it in the clearer sections. Even below light speed these ships were outstandingly fast and it did not take long before the terrain started giving way to rougher mountains. Discoloured cliff faces and deep canyons gouged through the land itself. It almost looked as if it could be part of a kindergarten, but the walls were clean and in the centre was a white, almost marbled structure. A large Statue stood in the middle of the structure as water seemed to run throughout it.
The ship groaned to many thousand meters above the structure itself as Euclase brought out a large projection of the area below. "We have arrived" She declared, but even from the ship small dots could be seen dancing and moving about below "As I suspected we may have to linger a little while longer." She noted as the screen zoomed in to show some other gems present at the location.
Not expecting to elicit a giggle from Euclase, 7XB struggled to hide a ruddy hint of blue as it appeared upon their cheeks. Luckily their imminent arrival to the scene of their next adventure drew the attention away from them.
Rising quickly to their feet, an action that left them feeling rather woozy in their compromised condition, they drew nearer towards one of the port holes of their vessel, gazing out upon their destination. The statue, even from a distance, struck them as.. familiar in some way.
"Corruptions?" They question, gazing their stone gaze across their shoulder, towards Euclase. This place seemed so peaceful from up here, and even 7XB, a born fighter, hated the idea of monsters infesting this place ..or rebels, for that matter.
"hmm, Too small" She answered, trying to get a clear images but to little effect. They were simply too far up to get a decent scan, but the humanoid silhouette indicated enough that these creatures were at least not corrupted. "Based on scans corrupted gems seem to avoid this area completely, the reason why,we are again in the dark about."
"We are rolling the Dice here more then I like" she said, with a small frown as she tapped away on the screen "if we have to linger for too long the solar cycle will start to transition, and this blue camouflage will be useless on the orange sky. Not to mention if any Weather phenomena starts to strike us in the sky, these clouds are as much a saviour as they are a liability." While they still had several hours in the day,who knows how long it would take for the gems below to clear out, and that was not factoring in the unpredictability of the weather.
Somehow 7XB had guessed as much. 'Blast.' They couldn't yet tell if they were relieved or not- As much as they were intimidated by the corruptions, at least they could do so with a sense of relative rightousness. The beasts, though they had once been ordinary gems, seemed to be little more than raving, suffering beasts, and 7XB could reassure themselves. They were alleviating their suffering. If it were rebels thought, as it seemed to be, that was a.. different issue.
These gems, though perhaps defective, would attack them consciously. And worse, they had betrayed their Diamonds and comrades.
A thin scowl pulled at their lips, growing darker and more cracked as they turned again towards the porthole. "We might as well land now," they insisted with a pop of their knuckles, "At least we've got the advantage of surprise."
Euclase glanced unimpressed at Clear Quartz, a eyebrow raised at the gems suggestion "While I appreciate your enthusiasm i would have to recommend against that, unless you have figured out some sort of method of combat that doesn't involve any sort of stress to your body. Besides the warp pads are but a scant away from the fountain itself, so while i don't question your tenacity to fight 3 defects, the 30 that may come as back up may prove to be somewhat more of a issue" She clarified, placing her Diadem back onto her forehead as she spoke. She let out a small smile "plus do you really expect this" She gestured to herself "To be decent backup in a fight if things go south."
A low rumble slightly shook the ship though, off in the opposite direction to where Clear was facing was a front of clouds, dark in colour with seemingly random flashes of light erupting inside the grey mass. They were a few miles off, but as the winds started to pull against the ship it became clear that the Storm cell would likely move quickly. Being on them easily within 20 minutes or less. Euclase had hoped that the cell would of moved off in a opposite direction, but it seemed luck was not on their side, or was it. The Gems below seemed to note the Storm approaching, a small scuffle of movement occurred between the 3 gems as they made there way to the warps. With a small flash the beam pierced though the sky leaving the fountain isolated once again.
"Cutting it close it is then" She noted as she quickly forced the ship downwards.
A dark, fluctuating blue tint came across their face like dangerous storm clouds- What Euclase had likely meant as a vocalization of their concern for 7XB's injury and well-being had instead been interpreted as a fairly scathing insult, whether it was originally meant as that or not.
Either way, whatever they had intended to do about this perceived slight, even if it was simply decided to take it on the chin, was put on hold as soon as that initial rumble of thunder rattled their ship. It seemed like that would be getting their way in the end anyway, though they were far from excited about it.
The rebels seemed to have fled, judging by the flash of warp-light. A wise choice, judging by by the looks of this storm- the Quartz had heard of the killer storms on Earth. Unfortunately there was no way to know for sure if one or two of them were hiding out somewhere, not at this point.
"Hmmf. So it would seem" Their mission was still the same, crack or no crack: Protect Euclase until they returned to the Moon Base.
Breaking through some of the lower cloud cover the winds seemed to receded at least somewhat partially, large rain droplets danced across the windows of the ship itself in random succession, obviously droplets that had been blown from the stormy tempest that laid westwards from them. The ship landed roughly, being pushed of kilter by a small gust of wind as it skipped partially across the ground before coming to a proper stop.
Already the ground had already started growing damp as the large droplets found their way to Earth. While the rain currently was little more then a little spit, it would clearly and exponentially grow the closer the storm got. As such Euclase wanted to finish quickly. If they encountered gems the time was subtly was over and she would allow Clear's more direct methods to take control and dispel of wayward gems as fast as possible, but the priority was still healing.
She pressed the button on her screen, allowing the ship's door to open to the outside, she swivelled on the chair, standing up herself as she adjusted the Diadem and strode forward. The looming sound of thunder and rain still called them in the distance. "We have a little time it seems" She noted as she held her hand out to feel the droplets of water land on them "We get in,we heal you,I bubble some Healing essence and we leave." She affirmed stiffly. She seemed to breath in deeply, as if bracing herself for something before she seemed to whisper "you don't hear them, they're are already gone" To herself.
The Star shaped entrance was a few feet away, even from here the sound of the water seemed to beckon them calmly towards it. With a firm huff Euclase glanced back, making sure Clear was following, before she began moving herself.
"Oh..eurh." The sudden lurching of the ship threw them off more than they had anticipated, both the approaching tempest and the abruptness of the touchdown making for an I'll combination. A rather large quartz like 7XB was, understandably, already wary of ships as it was, and quick action like that offer left them feeling quite a bit more squirmy on the inside than they would like.
As the Clear Quartz was more concerned with their own compromised state than anything else, they were not privy to whatever it was Euclase has said, though they were quick to follow close behind her- already they could breath a bit easier. The star-marked entrance to the fountain seemed to beckon to 7XB directly, promising a place to rest and rejuvenate their impossibly tired limbs until all concern and ached faded away. The tricking, soothing giggle of a flowing fountain was like a sweet Melody, clear over even the crecendoing base of the encroaching storm. "It's quite here," they murmered absently, raindrops pelting harmlessly upon their cheeks, "I've never felt anything like it."
"It was a place of tranquillity and peace and i remember it well" She replied softly "for too many gems though, this was the last place they saw" She closed her eyes whispering to herself once more. She was winning, or at least she hoped, her composure while shaky was still firm and like a tight lock the memories remained distant, the voices, the images, remained like a wisp, a whisper on the wind that she could ignore like she had for the hundreds of years she remained off this Rock, her mission came first, it was because of the whispers, because of the memories that she had made that promise. A promise that had lead her straight back here.
The stone archway leered over them as they entered, providing a temporary repose from the light droplets that still fluttered from the open sky. Before them now stood the great open plaza. Grey stone stood firmly around the gems, providing a degree of isolation from the outside world. This atmosphere was only permeated by the still looming sounds of thunder off in the distance. After only a few steps the upper section they were standing on fell away to the lower plaza, smooth ramping a rough stone steps being the connection between these two elevations and in the center of it all was the great fountain, the stone statue, with tears dancing down its face, showed the visage of some sort of Rose Quartz, whether the original rebel leader had fashioned herself after the statue or the statue was fashioned after her was still unclear. From it though the water flowed down into a raised basin, with smaller statues dotted around it. Despite its age the grey stone seemed to show little wear, except for the small amount of moss that seemed to creep on some of the statues and the bramble that seemed to be dotted around the outer wall, its vines occasionally grasping inwards as if seeking salvation from the fountain itself.
"A-a bit archaic umm nowadays" Euclase noted slowly as she began slowly making her way down the steps and towards the fountain "but it works."
The quiet whispers Euclase was making to herself would have likely been gone right over 7XB's head, at enamoured as they were with the alluring nature of the fountain, but the gentle kiss of the breeze that wafted upwards from the fountain carried her faint words to the quartz' ears, though they would hardly be able to make much sense of them. The statue seemed even more familiar now, the realization dawning upon them- it was done in the likeness of a Rose Quartz, the healing tears welling up in the corners of her eyes and flowing into the marble basin below.
"A-a bit archaic."
They chuckled lightly then, eyes half drooped as they drew even nearer to the fountain; They seemed much more relaxed than they had ever allowed themselves to be before, "Archaic is okay with me. Reminds me of the old days. Before everything had to be..shiny."
"My Diamond was rather adamant in her earlier years about keeping it more...'statuesque'," She replied to Clears Comment "Besides we had little resources so it worked well as a supply saving concept, the planet is naturally rich in stones just below the surface." Euclase elaborated as she moved up to the basin on the fountain, her gloves vanished once more as she dipped her right hand into the healing liquid, examining her hand, obviously something passed her scrutiny because a moment later she pulled it back out and spoke "Okay so the liquid has not denatured yet, that's good" Her hand seemed to look as if it was mostly new, the glowing wounds that had been left from when she repaired Clears Gemstone had vanished leaving young blue skin in its place, the scarring around it though still seemed to be present. Obviously the old tissue must of counted as repaired already, despite it somewhat twisted appearance.
She gestured to Clear "Place your damaged gem slowly into the liquid and let it linger for a moment, the fountain's essence will flush out my own grafting before it starts to work, the liquid is not able to reconnect the damaged tetrahedra structure with foreign matter blocking its place" She noted off, as if the semantics of the procedure would be relevant. Granted though the way she noted it off made it somewhat apparent that it was not the first time she had explained the procedure.
She seemed to look around distantly, her eyes seemed somewhat more glossy then usual as she placed her hand on one of the mossy statues and sat on the edge of the fountain "Lots of memories in this place." She sighed "Met alot of good gems here, lost too many aswell. And..." She seemed to pause glancing around almost like she was lost "This was the last place I saw my Sisters... 7AJ,7AH,7AG" she stopped again, the next part coming out far quieter, her voice surprisingly fragile sounding "7AI is a big fancy manager now, just like you said I would be"
Though their anticipation of healing continued to rise as they came ever closer to the fountain, so did their trepedation and concern for Euclase's well-being. She seemed to be changing into, well, a different gem as they approached the marble basin of clear, shimmering water. She had always seemed rather reserved to 7XB (but were they really one to talk?) But now she appeared to be..talking to herself?
In truth, it worried the Quartz to watch such a high-ranking seemingly unravel. Though the scientific specifics of what she was saying went, for the most part, over their head, 7XB was quick to approach the pool once she gave the go-ahead, lowering themselves down onto their haunches and, after taking a moment to steel themselves, lowered their right hand into the cool water. It was an odd feeling- they could already feel the artificial patch being eaten away.
Though they had been silent this far about what Euclase had said, it lingered in their mind, a short period of brooding while they waited for the healing waters to take effect, the warm in their gem similar in feeling to her temporary patch. "So," they mulled quietly, turning to her from their low position. "You've..lost some gems, huh?"
"Even with the fountain we can't save them all" Euclase whispered "This planet was meant to be peaceful and yet we always got them coming in to us, Quartzs especially, Sometimes a gem is too fragmented, a part is missing, sometimes there isn't enough left to fix, sometimes something has jammed within the crack and it will never reconnect. Those that are lucky come to us already in gemstone form we can let them rest in a bubble." She let the memories come back fully, not being able to stop herself from reliving every single one. She stood up,seemingly pacing around as she continued talking "Amethyst Facet 5 Cut 8XB, she loved the feeling of the dirt on this planet. A piece of a statue fell ontop of her split her gemstone into three parts ,we never found the third fragment. Praisolite Facet 12 Cut 21AR, a transfer for Yellow, real old fashioned, looked out for the rookies, didn't look out for herself enough, local wildlife got to her, we never found more then a shard of her. Citrine Facet 9 Cut H77 and H78, the dynamic duo, couldn't separate the two of them, Weather phenomena, part of a ship was hit by a charged bolt, part of the ship was detonated and a debris of a Gem destablizer managed to embed its way into H78's Gemstone. We could never extract it, that was the last time we saw of H77 aswell.Amethyst, Smokey Quartz, Blue Quartz, J87,K071,HA14. Dominant Lifeforms of this planet got to them." Her face turned dark "I would never wish their fate on any gem."
Seemingly emotionally and physically exhausted she dragged her feet with her head lowered as she sat back down on the rim of the fountain "They were lucky, their forms were destroyed before their gem. For the others, not so much." She paused her voice now slow "Have you ever seen a Gem go like that? Its not quick, and its not painless. To see a gem's form betray them, to see their projection breakdown, the fear in their eyes as their very existence begins to break apart, how some cling to you in desperation and you are powerless to stop it. Some scream, and some don't even have the chance to let that out before they are gone, and we must bubble them and send them off" She let out a long sigh. The memories washing over her, feeling her with a contained grief that seemed to bubbled just below the surface, the memories though started to shift, changing to the smiling faces of 3 other blue gems.
"I wasn't alone though" Her tone seem to raise up slightly, the droplets of rain overhead now starting to turn into a more consistent drizzle on them "In the beginning there was four of us, the Euclase Units,7AG was the leader of our group, tough as nails and personifying the literal definition of 'Doctor's Orders'. Then there was 7AJ,7AH who came out at the same time," She chuckled "and who debated for days on end about who came out first to the nearest second, but the two of them could spot things in the water and in a gemstone that we couldn't never pick up" She let out another sigh this time, a more happy one "And then off course there was me, 7AI, a late bloomer, the little rookie, i came out slightly later then the others, but they always kept saying that i would go places that they would never even Dream of." She seemed to concluded, turning back into the somewhat gentle, stable and old Euclase from before "I got transferred to the Moonbase as Chief Medical Gem about 4000 Years ago and move my way up the ranks ever since. I thought maybe my fellow gems may still be around but it seems like they may of parted on their own journeys on this planet and beyond, 4000 years is quite a while. Before we departed though we all made a promise, we all saw it and went through it together so we all made the Oath" "that we would do everything we can to try and stop any gem from being destroyed under our watch" the Words echoed in her mind as she spoke them.
7XB wasn't quite sure what to say to all of that, even after they had taken a moment to really absorb it all. What could they say that would have made any real difference?
They didn't know, and so, for a moment at least, their was silence, silence and a stillness broken only by the quickening raindrops that distorted their reflection in the pool and laid their thick hair flat against their head. Before long, the Quartz withdrew their hand from the warm water, shaking off those last, lingering drops before observing their gem with faint curiosity. It looked as fresh as it ever had, sans the crack that had marred them all day. Now, a bit relieved, they spoke. "I..I've lost gems too. It.. isn't easy."
"Of course you have" Euclase replied gently "Friends, comrades, idols. We dedicate ourselves to the empire, to the constructing the World that they sacrificed themselves for. Don't we? A Existence where we are the ultimate empire, where we no longer have to worry about losing our comrades, a universe without resistance, without mortality, where everything can be eternal and undying" She concluded, closing her eyes slowly for a moment. When she opened them she refocused.
"I'm sorry about that, This planet has many of my demons on it, sometimes it hard to keep them at bay" Euclase added, while she spoke though her eyes seemed to lock onto the bramble that was around, caught up in her past she had paid little mind to it, but now. She let out a disproving 'hmm' as she stood up and moved over to one of the bramble vines that seemed to be grasping closer to the fountain, picking up part of it with her hand, a expression of minor distaste and thought spread across her face, "These were not here when i used to work here" She noted, she shook her head slightly, unable to shake the feeling something was off about them as she dropped it back onto the ground and moved over to the Clear Quartz, sliding her pouch open and pulling out three of her drones once more and examining her gem.
"If I may?" She asked, indicating for Clear to hold out of hand so that she could scan her gem once more.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
