Declaimer (or whatever legal stuff): So.... Light Mocha Pearl and I played this little Epilogue on Skype, but since my Skype is dying - may it rest in peace... or rest in pieces. Several pieces. Small shards to be honest - I have decided to "save" our game here. Not to mention Light Mocha Pearl is still on Earth and who knows, maybe the events of this little game session will be important in the future. Nobody knows. But just to be safe, I think it is better, if we have the whole thing on here. Sure I could post it in a one wall of text, but to be honest I think it is more better looking with a post-by-post format. Anyway, enjoy!
The ancient Gem vessel, the Derelict was in deep space, orbiting a little rocky moon, one of the dozens around a pinkish-red, ringed Gas Giant. The system's star was a blazing red too, like a ruby it gleamed in the distance On the Bridge, the Smoky Quartz sat in his throne-like command chair ,souranded by the floating screens and monitors He watched the ship's population, the Humans , the laboratories, everthing on the millenia old vessel Sometimes he looked to the diamond-shaped communicator It was silent... since they left Earth... the Solar System.. the Galaxy, it was dark and silent Chip never called him... but it was something he expected The kid made a decision and his Mentor wasn't the part of his new life Or he was shattered already... who knows? The quartz sipped from his glass... and watched the life of the humans
Light visited Chip. Pearl wanted to borrow something from him, his comunicator. It was the only way to contact Morion. A gem that flew away from the Planet Earth with humans, some elemets from Earth culture and a lot of other organic life forms. It took some time but eventually the young Fire Opal gave Light this small machine.
The war was coming, the Diamonds could attack in any moment now. Morion flew away so at least something would survive. Even thought the Quartz didn't agree, he was a real Crystal Gem.
Pearl saw what is happening on Earth. The rebelion nearly vanished. It was like only he and Para only stayed. And Para was becoming tired, she was working on her golem army every day. But it would never match Homeworld's advance technology. They were just too many enemies. A simple Pearl and Insane Padparadscha had no change against them.
Light lost all of his hope after Howlite gave a Quartz soldier a list with all Crystal Gems. Most of them were shattered. Only Light and Para somehow survived. He heard that Flurry was also there. But she prefered to play Human games instead of working. She also took control over Howlite, a gem too dangerous for the rebelion.
Pearl decided to call Morion so he could come back for them, if he can of coure. Gems could find another way to stop Diamonds from destroying planets later. Earth was arleady doomed. If Morion refused to help, Light qnd Para would be forced to repair one of the broken ships for few people.
Light entered his room, Para had no idea what he is doing. Light than clicked the buttom and placed carefully the device on the floor.
Soon The hologram appeared on Morion's ship. It looked just like Light. At first it was kinda blurry but it than started to look better "M-o-rion?! Are you there?" There were similar problems with the sound. But just like in the case of the image, it got better after some time.
The Smoky Quartz examined a crystaline datapad with reports, when the communicator started to blink - Master...? The butler turned to the Gem, who watched the blinking Then nodded - It seems my Pearl tehere is no escape from Fate... you may leave - yes Master The human bowed and left the Quartz alone, who activated the communicator He was a bit surprised when he saw... Light - Light? Is that you? The reception is horrible... must be the electromagnetic sphere of the Red Dwarf... Morion murmured under his nose - Take us out from this System! He ordered the Ship Slowly the ancient engines came to life and majesticly the vessel drifted farther from the interrferences So the holo was eventually good enough to see and understand the Gem - Yes Light, we are Here... I must say, I'm a bit surprised you called. Or anyone called for that matter Morion smirked
After a short while Light saw the not bugged hologram of Morion. Pearl sighed with relief.
The gem was rather confused "It is great to see you. Wha-What do you mean? Noone else called you yet? I thought you gave Chip a comunicater so you could chat sometimes..."
Light wasn't sure why Chip didn't bother to call Morion. They spend a lot of time with each other on Earh after all. Pearl wasn't going to ask for details, it wasn't his business. Maybe they had a fight... no, it couldn't be.
Soon The white Cockatiel landed on Light's shoulder "Ibi, not now. We will play later." The parrot repeated Light's words with a really optymitic and loud tone "Now! Now!"
Light blushed a little "I am sorry, he is really energetic..."
*The Smoky Quartz nodded "Chip was the only one who recived a communicator diamond from me... and..." He shook his head "...I guess he made his decision. A new Life, a Future on Earth, without the specters of the Past. And me? I am one of the ghosts of his former life. I can't blame him. I miss him, and still belives, it was a grave mistake for him to stay on that doomed world for a girl, but it was his choice. So I am not terribly surprised, my young Fire Opal apprentice turned his back to me. I know, I could call him, but... if he don't want to talk to me, there is no point to bother him with calls." Morion nodded "But... I guess you called me for a reason and not because you missed my voice" The Quartz smiled and sipped from his drink "A cockatiel... cute. Tho' I am more of a raptor type, or scarlet macaw"
It was rather sad to know that Chip was the only one Morion trusted enough to give him a comunicator. And the young Fire Opal didn't call him anyway. Light actually missed the gray gem a little. Yes, they didn't had a lot of good memories. But Light knew that deep inside Morion was the one who could acomplish a great things for the Planet Earth. Who actually did something for the Planet Earth. Light just wasted all this time to deal with his issues. At least he helped Lady Para a little. But he was just listening to her requests. She was the one who designed everything.
Light looked a little bit blue. "I am so sorry... I will talk with Chip, maybe he is just too shy." It was pretty ironic, Pearl was probably much more shy than the Fire Opal.
"I actually think Smoky Quartz have a really great voice to listen to. But yes... I- I mean, you were right... I had too much hope in the rebelion. Most of the Crystal Gems vanished, were shattered or decided to come back to their Diamonds. Howlite even gave gem warrior a list of all of us." Pearl's eyes looked like they were about to cry. "There is I, Para... and Flurry. Para is working hard on our secret weapon. But we know that it won't change anything, it will still be nothing compared to the Quartz army of Homeworld. Flurry at the other hand acts like she doesn't know ehat is about to happen. She prefer to play around with Humans instead of training. It looks like running away to fight back later was the best plan all the time. Morion, I am sorry. I am sorry for not respecting you and your plans. I can't stay here and watch everything I know dying. Yes, I know it is extremly ridiculus. But could you come back for us? Lady Para will probably don't know what is going on. But I am doing it for her own good."
Light peted the bird with his two fingers. "I am probably a bird type."
'You don't have to" He shook his head Chip made his choice... Then Morion smiled "Ah, my voice... heard my singing?" The Quartz snickered But the following was serious... deadly serious topic He put away his glass and listened "You were... betrayed. Again. Like the last time. What was his name? Flint? Oh and his 'wife' Blue, am I right? You turned your back to the Rebellion after their betrayal, just to watch they abandon the Crystal Gems, like you did... Ironic" Morion nodded "..and now? Howlite. I am not surprised. And I guess neither you. Am I right? So, the end is near an you want to live..." He leaned back in his throne like command chair "Go back for you... the Artisan and the rest of the 'gang' Save you all? My answer is... " Morion lifted his glass, and nodded "...no." The Quartz let this sink in "Why on earth would I want to go back to that doomed hellhole? To save an egoistic lovestruck naive and arrogant child, my wayward apprentice and his girlfriend who can't find his ass with a map and two sherpa guides? Or to your owner, lord and Master, the Artisan Padparadcha, an insane rebel, who tried to use me and my resources, why her help was forgetable? Like the services she done to me? A mad Berserker, Bloodstone, or a traitor scout Carbide? Or any surviving "Rebels", who realized, the truth and now tries to save thir hide, like rats on a drowning ship?Tempting... but no. No, sorry. Humanity, or what left of it deserves better than that your misfit band of merry Gems." The Smoky Quartz smile was dark, but serious He gave his word to protect his humans... and that included protection from the likes they left behind on Earth "But you... You my dear Pearl were always... unique! Full of potential! So promising, so... so... damn slave of your own nature." Morion shook his head "I will not go back Light... but I can send a little ship for YOU. And your animal friends, or humans if you have any. Quick little ship, equiped with the latest cloaking technology, courtesy of several Gem headhunters' borrowed technology. Nobody will notice the ship... you can escape the path you misguidedly taken. I offer you the chance to change your own fate!" He nodded "If you willing to take it..."
"If you say so..." Pearl didn't want to force them to talk with each other.
"No. But I can imagine." His voice was really... serious. Light could imagine Morion being the one telling the story in one of those funny Human movies.
"Yes, you are right... I don't know where are they now and I am not really interested... could we don't talk about them?" They trully were just a pair of traitors and manipulators. Seeing them or talking about them were the last things light wanted to do. The soulless rocks vanished after the weird meeting in the forest. The gems fused and tried to hurt them, luckly rebels and Howlite were victorious.
"Howlite trully is good at acting. He nearly fooled me that he changed... And yes, that is one of the reasons I called you. And to check if you and Earth creatures are okay."
Pearl had to grab the table, he nearly felt when Morion said "no". Ibi tried to comfort the gem by cuddling his head to Light's neck. "I -I am sure Lady Para could help you! She is more inteligent than your human scientists! She could help take care of humans and other life forms." Light said nervously, Para's sake was one of the main reasons he called. She had to survive so she could fight later. He didn't see Bloody since the time Howlite tried to fool him by his "redemption". And Flurry... She probably didn't even care about Pearl anymore.
"What do you see in me? How am I unique...? And how am I suppose to be helpfull on your ship? Thank you, I didn't expect that kind of help. It rally mean a lot to me. But... why?"
Light looked at Ibi "Can I just take one gem with me?"
"Your 'Lady' did exactly what, that earned your trust and blind obidience?" The Smoky Quartz was curious "She never saved you... that was Chip? Or me? Or to be honest, can't really recall, but I had eyes and ears and good connections, and non of them could find anything that your Lady did for you. Maybe you could enlighten me! So please, answer... what did Para did for you? Giving you freedom? No, not really, you was and you ARE her Pearl as I see. With me, you had true freedom, and you couldn't live with it, so your Padparadcha owner shacled your very soul to her! To a point you rushed back to serve her at the first opportunity. But correct me if I'm wrong. She gave you a home? No, not really. I gave you a home and a furure, she gave you a room in her, HER workshop, the Forge... it was Her place, not yours, she was the boss, not you and her. So... again, what is the reason of your blind obidience and obsession like servitude?" The Smoky Quartz asked quietly But he was honestly curious to the answer "Why should I save her too... when she done nothing even for YOU? Not to mention the humans, the rebellion or me, except abusing my trust." Morion sipped from his drink "Every Pearl is unique my boy! Winds blow, nations change, Empires rise and fall, but the simple folk will always be asked to shoulder the weight..." He nodded "Like the Rubies and the Pearls... but when you last saw a Ruby next to a Diamond? Quartzes, Agates, Peridots, Lazulis... none of them are worthy to be with a Diamond all the time! Just the Pearls. The simple minded Gems see only servants, pretty things... but as I said, a weak and useless Gem would never be on the side of a strong Gem!" Morions snickered "Who do you want to save Light?"
"She did help me... She made me feel that I can be still be alive when I was doomed. And she cares about me more than herself. Which I don't understand... I will never forget this. I was close to thinking that there is no future for me here on Earth."
Pearl started to sound a little bit irritated "She spends all of her time on working. She is creating the army that was suppose to help rebels during war to save humans. She doesn't even think about anything else."
"Perhaps..." It was true. Pearls did spend all their time with Diamonds. Light was wondering how does their job look like. Is it scary? Working for the most dangerous gems in the whole universe? Or maybe it is easy to get used to it... There was no such a gem as "Light Brown Diamond" so Light will probably never know.
"I want to save someone that I don't deserve. I don't know if you understand me. But she really means a lot to me. Maybe I am her Pearl. But that doesn't change the fact that I still live and I am happy because of her. It is just like... we were Pearls for each other."
Light shook his head "Wait a moment! How do you know about my room in the Forge?"
The Smoky Quartz nodded "If you insist..." Well, if Light felt that way, teher was nopoint for him to argue Not to mention he was galaxies away from that misrable hellhole "So... back on topic. You want to save this Gem? Who is she? Do I know her? You have to understand I am very picky about Gems from Earth. Most of them betrayed me or Homeworld or the Rebellion in one way or antoher." Then the greyish Gem smiled gently "Why my dear Light... I was and I AM my beloved Blure Diamonds eye. I know how to listen and notice the important things! And I am not to bad at the deduction department either. You have a pet bird. Those things, like every living organisms, eats. And poops. Not to mention, while smart little feathered friends, they are hard to controll and tend to cause chaos, trouble, fly around, nibble on things and steal. So you must have a room your own to keep your bird. So your friend won't make any mess, or disturbs your master's,Padapracha work and hise feathersand waste won't ruin his experiments. Simple, really. Logic. Arare trait in the Gems stranded on Earth..." Morion smirked "Besides, I don't think Para would EVER left you to be alone or with her in in HER room... not even invited you in her room. Am Iright? So? Conclusion: you must have your own little room"
Light looked with a rather confused look, he kept talking about Lady Para. But it was sometimes hard to understand him when he was talking about such stressfull topics. "You do know her, I was talking about Lady Para. But it looks like I know much more about her than you. Which is not a suprise since I spend much more time with her."
Ibi started to nibble Light's hair when Morion mentioned the resposibility that comes with owning such a pet.
It was rather impressive. Morion could really see things that most of the people wouldn't even notice. So Pearl was wrong about thinking that Morion was spying on him and Para. Or maybe not? It didn't really matter right now. "Lady Para spends most of her time in the workplace, there is simply no need to go to her room..."
The Smoky Quartz nodded "Maybe the connection was disturbed... The ship was very close to a supergiant, and even far from it, the star's electromagnetic field is strong. Strong enough to scramble the signal..." It was a gentle lie, to save face for Light The Gem communicator bridged the endless void between several galaxies... a little star's flares were nothing for it But tho' the Quartz misunderstood the Pearl, he didn't wanted Light to feel bad or uncomfortable about it. "So, you want to save Para... and no one else?" It was strange to hear this from Light, who - in a sense - always seemed to tought, had several friend. Of course, Morion knew it was an illusion, an unconcious lie to shield himself from the cold reality: Light never had a true friend - except maybe Chip, but their relationship was rocky, they never really knew each other and had several argument every time they met - not even Para. In the Assassin's eyes, that relationship was a bit one sided. Rebels, Crystal Gems, "Independents", everybody lied to Light... and never been his friends. (well except Morion who wasn't a friend either, but at least was honest with him) So it was strange, yet sad to hear, the poor Pearl finally realised, he was... alone. It wasn"t surprising he clinged to Para. Loneliness was a terrible thing after all, and in a sense, was better to live in a lie, than to accept it. Gems were never a solitary creatures, as Morion always said, they carved order, to be the part of the "system", to have their place. Sentinent programs with projected bodies... but still, programs, part of something greater. Alone eventually they begun to glich, or degeneratre. "So be it, Light..." Morion nodded "I will send a little ship for you. And you could save your work-obsessed sapphire..." But his voice was serious "...IF she wants to be saved! Prepare yourself Light! It is possible Para will want to stay on Earth... or go back to Homeworld. After all, she was never a Crystal Gem... nor a "real" Rebel. Nothing prevents her to go back to her Diamond. " The Smoky Quartz warned the little Pearl
"Yes... it might be possible." Light blushed a little, hopefully it wasn't seen on the blue hologram. "Stars those days, there are nasty, aren't threy...? hehe... uhhh..."
Light pointed at the bird which bite his finger. Light didn't react though, he get used to it. The creature soon stopped and came back to eating Pearl's long brown hair. "No other gem... Chip can simply fly away, Flurry doesn't care, Bloody is gone, everyone else... is not a friend anymore." Of course "everyone else" were Flint, Blue Emerald and Howlite. Pearl actually NEVER liked Howlite and he was showing this in every occasion by avoiding him or acting uncomfortable. He never even was nice to him, just neutral. Or he was panicking. Duh, he was the one who busted him few times and told Flint and Blue abut it, he was also against him joining rebelion. Yet, Howlite still fall in love with him. "Love" ... such a terrible human invention, at least from Pearl's perspective. The "friendship" seemed much better. Althought it also sometimes could be a bad thing. Still worth fighting for though.
Light looked at Morion, with a little bit more open eyes. Was it really happening? Even Ibi stopped his lunch to look at Morion's hologram.
Light smiled and claped his hands "Thank you! I will do anything for you!"
It changed rapidly to a little bit worried look. "I am sure that she will eventually understand. I feel like my hope was one of the main reasons she was still doing this. But it is now time for her to rest..."
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
