When PR was about to answer, she was so nervous that she lost a bit of control. "N-No, sir Ra-" She stopped for a second and started to laugh at herself. "HAHA! Really!? Sir!? Radiant, check this out, this Brat thinks you're in char-"PR intercepted herself covering her own mouth with her hands. What she tried to say then was inaudible, so she removed slowly her hands from her mouth while trying to speak. "Can i... Can i speak now? Okay... Sorry guys, i'm alone for now, i came by myself Radiant" PR had an strong feeling that she already was exactly there doing exactly the same thing with Radiant and Cat's Eye, but she didn't know how to express it, so she kept herself in silence about that. PR thought that her alterego could know something she doesn't about the situation, but she would be kicked out off the island if she let Peridot took over after what she did. "So... Radiant, it's... Just a guess but... Did you considered see if have any footsteps underground on a place without the... eh, sharp things... You know, the things that means there's water falling into the cave, i forgot the words" PR didn't remember and didn't want to ask for Peridot to help at all, but maybe Radiant would know what she's talking about.
As the Peridot made fun of Radaint for around 3 seconds before covering her mouth with an expression of shock, he could only stare with a face signaling cold contempt. But when she apoligised, quite shocked and baffled, Radiant tried to meld his face to represent a more cooler look. Either she was tricking him and the insult was on purpose or she had some sort of... error. Nevertheless, he needed to look on control, so hearing Peridot's idea, he replied: "Do you mean stalagmites by saying 'sharp things?'" At this point he did not know what to think of the Peridot. There clearly was something she was hiding and she also seemed to have a some sort of "second personality". Regardless, Radiant would still be on guard against her, even if she did not seem that threatening.
The gem's eyes widened at the sudden outburst the peridot had. Not even she had the guts to talk back to Radiant. All the little gem could do was watch as PR gave her little explanation, and then her idea to go explore somewhere underneath the island they stood on. With Radiant asking if the 'sharp things' the green gem was talking about were stalagmites, Cat's Eye had an idea based off of PR's. "We could go explore a cave! I don't know where we could find one, but we could always go look for one!" she suggested cheerfully. "And then, we might find footsteps like you were asking, Radiant." Indeed, she liked her own idea. All the gem had to do now was to see how the other two gems present in front of her would react.
PR was kinda relieved that she didn't need that much of Peridot's help to keep moving on their search, though she was a bit scared from Radiant, but she could handle it at least. When PR heard about the Stalagmites, she remembered that probably wouldn't have footsteps near them. Then when Cat's Eye had emphasized that they should search into a underground cave, PR proceeded with her train of thought. "Yeah, so... We should search where there's no water into the caves below, cause i think that where these Stalagmites are, have water and we won't be able to track any footstep indiscernible to the naked eye" She was hoping to be right, otherwise it could be one more reason for Radiant to be mad at her.
At last, the pearl decided she should continue her walk. She rose gracefully, the translucent jacket she wore shimmering in the sunlight. And then, she took a step. And then another. She took more and more steps until it turned to a slow walk. The sound of the stream grew more distant as she ventured into the jungle without a care in the world. Perhaps she could do something meaningful today. She hasn't done much since the day her Emerald was shattered. Even if Green Pearl wished to continue her research, she found herself grieving more often, wishing that her owner would be by her side whenever possible.
Then, she saw something in the distance. Three figures, figures that did not belong on Mask Island. One was white, one was a lime green, and one was yellow. She gasped. Who, or what was it? Out of self defense, she dashed off the path and into some bushes. She had been mistaken for some plant life before, and perhaps she can do it again. Pearl stood as still as possible, not moving a single muscle.
Letting the Peridot finish her reply, Radiant started to speak now: "Well, that is an interesting idea. But where would we find a cave?" While waiting for some kind of answer, the white beryl did not take his guard down, and it paid off. He heared, somewhere in the bushes a small rushling sound, as if someone sprung into it a little. Not explaining his motives, Radiant slowly walked towards the place where he seemed to have heared the sound, but this was harder then he fought, since he did not hear anything anymore. Could it have been just subconcious imagination? Well, there was just one way to find out. Squating in front of the bush he thought was the one, he slowly pushed his arm into it.
"A cave... hmm..." While Cat's Eye thought of an answer, she, too, heard something move, bringing her out of her thoughts. "What was that?" she said aloud. Looking over at where Radiant was walking, she followed him, and looked over at where he was looking. Like her friend, she could not see anything among the bushes either. She grew nervous. What if it was a monster, one that blended in with the vegetation very well. She squinted at attempt to get a better look at the bushes in front of her. She could make out a paler shape, but yet, she dismissed it as some strange life-form. "Are you sure you weren't imagining things?" she asked the white beryl. The gem then turned her head to look at PR. "Hey, PR, what do you think?"
PR had no idea of what they were talking about, so she just followed them. "Think about what?" While she was distracted, her Spikes started to pierce the ground, trying to dig down slowly into a straight direction. She felt a small pain coming from her Gem, but she didn't think it was big deal. "Did you guys see someone?" Then after a while PR felt the Spikes moving by them own. "Well, i guess... W-W-What was that?" When she looked back she instantly removed her Shoulder Spikes and threw against the floor with strength. "Why doesn't this break!? I can't understan- No, wait... If i break this, Peridot will freak out, i should be relieved" After PR deal with this little issue, she thought that Peridot wanted to find the cave too. "Cat's Eye, Radiant, look here please, i think if i dig here we might find an near cave... It's a guess"
Green Pearl became even more nervous as two of the figures approached her. As soon as they spoke, she realized they were gems. Was she relieved? A little bit, judging by the yellow gem's uniform. Considering how they could not see her, Pearl was glad to see her poor attempt at camouflage was working. It immediately backfired as soon as the white, taller gem reached his hand into the bushes. At the touch of his cold glove against her skin, she let out a scream, and stumbled backwards, where she then fell on the ground. Realizing her mistake, she quickly got back on her feet, and did the Diamond salute. "I am very sorry, fellow gem," she apologized. "I did not know if you were a rebel or not. Please forgive me for my insolence."
Radiant was stunned at the sight of her. A stranded Cat's Eye or a Peridot, this was all explainable, but a stranded Pearl? It was suspicious to him. He folded his arms and said in a cold voice: "Now then, firstly, how did you get here, secondly, why were you hiding so near to us? Thirdly, where is your master?" He doubted that it was a Crystal Gem, so he built himself up, you could say, eminating an aura of superiority to get her to answer more quickly. The white beryl yelled out: "Peridot, come here!" Radiant meanwhile analysed her. A standard pearl with a green color tone, but other then her gem being in her eye and the hair style all seemed to be in order. This made him even more curious.
Cat's Eye was surprised to see that this 'plant' was actually another gem. One that still served Homeworld, from the looks of it. But why a pearl, out of all gems, be here? As far as she knew, they were normally with their owner. Normally was the key word here. She has heard of a pearl who rebelled alongside Rose Quartz, but obviously, this was not the same pearl. So, where was her master? Cat's Eye dared not to ask, fearing Radiant's retaliation if she spoke. She may dislike Homeworld and not align with them at the moment, but yet, she still had some of their ideals embedded into her. For now, the yellow gem looked at the green pearl, feeling quite awkward.
When Radiant called her, she ran towards them. Despite PR was getting upset that Radiant was calling her only by Peridot, ignoring her name, she didn't make it clear to them. Once she saw the green Gem, she hid behind Radiant quickly. "Sorry, but i don't know if i can speak to Green Pearl again, i don't know what my alterego said to her, she might even be mad at me" PR whispered to Radiant. She looked at Cat's Eye, and put her index finger over her own mouth, trying to tell her to not reveal PR's position, though Green Pearl might have seen her. "Radiant, Cat's Eye... I'm almost sure that we can trust her, but i'm still afraid of what i've done" She whispered to both Gems this time.
Green Pearl immediately obliged to answer the white gem's questions. It was in her programming to answer to a superior gem, especially one of equal ranking to her former master. "I originally arrived with my master on this island. She was sent by the Diamonds to examine the organic life on this planet. But then those 'Crystal Gems' arrived here." She emphasized the rebels' group name with a particularly nasty tone, as memories of the day her owner was shattered resurfaced in her mind. "I was standing next to my owner when some of the rebels attacked us." A tear started to form in her eye. "And then... they shattered her." As more and more tears formed in her eye, she wiped them away. "My apologies, sir. Sometimes, I can still see myself at her side."
She tried her best to speak further, although the grief she felt at this very moment was very overpowering. "When she was shattered, I did not know what to do. So, I started running as fast as I could away from the rebels. I managed to survive the encounter..." Tears started to blur her vision again, and she wiped them away once more. "...but I have felt lost ever since then. I cannot bring myself to leave this cursed island. It holds too many memories."
At last, she could answer the white beryl's other question. "I take walks around Mask Island to try to get them off my mind. When I saw you, I got scared, and thought you were some of the rebels. My first instinct was to hide. Now, I see you are not with them at all. Thank the stars you are not a rebel!" The last sentence in particular was more cheerful than the rest, and her tears were starting to dry as the memory started to retreat deeper into her head. However, more fear started to creep into her at the sight of the peridot she had met earlier. Why she with them? Isn't she a rebel? She knew not to question the decisions of authority, so she kept these dangerous thoughts to herself.
Although not being able to feel, Radiant tried to do a convincing face which would show some sort of empathy. As her tears kept flowing he felt disgusted on the inside. Pearls are just not what they used to be, he remembered. Well, the white beryl always wanted a Pearl on his side, so he would have to deal with her for now, even if it was just for a while. He took a step forward and began to speak with a sober voice: "I do understand your loss and I am terribly sorry for that, but would you like to keep us company? Being so alone isn't healthy. So, what is your answer?" He wanted to throw this farce away already, but he needed to be convincing.
As the pearl told her story, Cat's Eye tried to hold back tears. It was sad, indeed it was. The pearl feeling lost reminded her of when she realized Homeworld would never come for her. But this pearl was not defective at all, it seems. She was just... a pearl. One with a gem for an eye, but still a pearl. When Pearl revealed her owner had been shattered, a tear fell from the yellow gem's eye. "I'm so sorry..." She felt bad for her, she really did. This surprised her to some degree. Out of all gems she started to tear up over, it was a Homeworld gem, one who followed the Diamonds quite loyally by the looks of it.
"By the way... who was your master?" she asked the green pearl, summoning the courage to do so. Even if she did feel bad, she was still quite the curious child. She didn't know why she brought up, but perhaps it was because she did not fear her at all in the way she feared Radiant. Green Pearl was harmless! Her companion, on the other hand, screamed superiority.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
