Last Major Edit: 3/21/17
Name: Pyrope (Pye/Pyre)
Appeared Gender: Female (Female/Male)
Appeared Age: ~25
Gemstone: Pyrope
Gemstone Location: One (cracked) gem on the chest, one (non-cracked) gem on right forearm.
Corrupted:(Y/N) No
(If Corrupted)Monster Form: N/A
Appearance: Pyrope is 'secretly' a fusion,
her fused parts (both Pyropes) look like so,
Personality: Pyrope, on the surface, is a very gruff gem. She only says as much as needs to be said and only sticks around other gems as much as she needs to in order to get something done. She refuses to let any gems get close to her, physically and emotionally, but has a softer side she refuses to admit. Pyrope can't help but assist gems who are in danger, or unable to protect themselves. However, she'll only stay long enough to see them safe and will often leave without a word. Pyrope almost always has a glare, of sorts, on her face as if she is scrutinizing everyone and everything around her for danger or to detect flaws.
This sort of odd, dual personality comes from Pyrope's components, two Pyrope gems. The gems consist of Pye (female on the right) and Pyre (male on the left.) Pye is compassionate and fun loving, enjoying conversations with gems and making friends or discovering new things. Pyre on the other hand has kept a lot of his former soldier-style personality. He distrusts everyone and everything, almost entirely refusing to speak to anyone. Often he will stand around, on guard, by Pye and only talking in order to warn others from getting to close to her.
Whenever alone and safe Pyrope will often unfuse. Pyre guards Pye with his life, refusing to let any chance of harm come to her, be it corrupted gems or other. Pyre and Pye have known each other for only a few hundred years, but they grew close and now try their best to survive in a world no longer controlled by Homeworld. As such this adds to their distrust of all gems, making Pyrope rather slow to warm up until she gets to know a gem's intentions.
Pye loves Earth for all of its unique features and cultures, and has sympathy towards the Crystal Gems. She understands why they want to fight for this planet, and though she would never admit it she agrees with them. Pyre on the other hand, hates the Crystal Gems for trapping him and especially Pye on such a dangerous planet. Pyre also hates Earth for being such a dangerous planet, housing both these rebels and the corrupted gems.
Likes/Dislikes:
+(Fused): Victory in battle, Human food (though she won't admit it or eat around others), Being alone.
+(Pye): Making friends, Human food, Music.
+(Pyre): Protecting Pye, Victory in battle, Homeworld.
-(Fused): Being forcibly separated, Other gems, Violence against innocents.
-(Pye): Violence against innocents, Being a burden, Getting Pyre into trouble (though she often does).
-(Pyre): Other gems, Danger towards Pye in any way, Crystal Gems and Earth.
Fears:
(Fused): Being shattered/poofed/separated, Her chest gem being touched/hit, Being betrayed.
(Pye): Losing Pyre, Causing the death of a innocent, Anything touching her gem.
(Pyre): Losing/Being separated from Pye, Letting someone get close and betray/hurt either of them.
Weapon:
(Fused): Pyrope wields a mix between a greatsword and a greathammer. The handle is a long purple polearm, similar to a hammer, but ends with a large blade with two hammerheads at the base of the blade. The blade and hammerheads are a dark-ish read similar to their clothing.
(Pye): Pye wields a greatsword (proportional to her size) with a purple grip and dark-ish red blade.
(Pyre): Pyre wields a greathammer (proportional to his size) with a purple polearm and dark-ish red hammerheads.
Ability 1: Kinetic Dispersion: Pyrope/Pyre is able to absorb kinetic energy dealt to her/him. E.G. If hit with a object the force behind it essentially is dispersed to the entirety of her/his body so instead of a large amount of force in a small area (such as a hammer blow) the force would be spread of their entire body. Effectively this allows Pyrope to ignore a single blow (as long as it isn't a especially strong attack.) This does not entirely negate the attack, it still has an effect, but is much weaker as the force is transferred all over her/his body. This can be focused to transfer damage away from a specific spot, E.G. from the gem, though this causes more stress and damage in other areas. For balancing reasons, for now she/he is only able to 'negate' a attack once per 3 of her/his posts.
Ability 2: Kinetic Projection: Pyrope/Pye is able to focus and then project a force towards a target. The force of the projection is equal to the user's physical strength, but can be increased with time and focus. The ability is basically a ranged melee attack, the force can be interrupted by something getting in the way and can be dodged but it about as fast and an arrow. Using this ability can leave her vulnerable, and can only be used once every 3 of her posts.
Fusions: N/A (Though she is a fusion herself)
History: Sometime during Kindergartens were established a number of gems were sent as guards/enforcers to maintain peace and keep the project save. Two pyropes, Pye and Pyre, were sent (among others) to keep any possibly hostile native creatures from damaging any aspect of the project on Earth. Both were simple guards by the primary Kindergarten, spending hundreds of years simply watching for wild creatures and occasionally scaring off the occasional human or curious creature. During this time the two gems developed feeling for each other and would occasionally fuse, even when not in combat. Although Homeworld frowned on such practice, they continued to do so and kept it a secret from their fellow gems. Many years later, when the Crystal Gems rebelled and the Kindergartens were shut down Pye and Pyre were caught in one of the skirmishes on the planet. In an ensuing fight Pye's gem was cracked and Pyre barely managed to escape with her. Since that day they have avoided other gems as best they could and Pyre vowed to never let something like that happen to Pye again.
Now, in present day, Pye and Pyre (now named singularly Pyrope when fused) go from place to place trying to stay safe and battling corrupted gems wherever they find them. Pyrope didn't bother with bubbling or mercy with such beasts, she was on a warpath to keep herself safe (and deep down so Earth would be safe for other gems.) Pye's gem is stable, although she has been weakened ever since being cracked. Pyre does his best to carry her burden when fused, and keeps a eye on her whenever they are not. Though the world is changing, and although they've tried to be alone the population of gems is at an all time high. It has become harder and harder to shut themselves out from society, and Pye has started growing restless.
Character Arcs:
Pye and Pyre will have a falling out, and they will have to adapt to the new world around them and decide whether to continue supporting Homeworld or sympathize with the Crystal Gems..
Pyre will have to come to terms with Pye's mortality, and learn to trust other gems.
Pyrope will eventually make friends, be it battle buddies or otherwise.
