Carbide stands back and then in genuine shock and wonder watches the entirety of the pile of items drift upward and the immense bulk of the human war machine rise put of the mass and then as the magnetic powered fusion managed to reassemble the entirety of the pile and then disassemble the roof panels and float the tank up and out of the building.
She hurriedly puts down the mechanical fish that Pallasite had handed to her and dashes put the doors to see the tank drifting off towards an empty portion of pasture, but spectacle aside, Carbide was watching her friend who seemed to be showing some pretty obvious signs of energy fatigue.
Her hand rises to her mouth in a moment of fear and mortification, already dashing from the path outside the factory doors, and across the damp meadow as Pallasite and the tank both seem to waver and drop out of the sky, and between the two objects it was the Fusion who seemed to have the rougher landing, bouncing off various parts of the tank like that.
"Oh my! Pallasite are you alright? ! You did t need to push yourself so hard for me!" Her voice sound pained and worried but she slides to a halt in the wet meadow flora and gently scoops up the Fusion by the shoulders and pulls her up enough to lean back against Brynhild, resting Pallasite's head against her tummy. "Take it easy and rest a bit okay? We've got all the time we need." She moves the fusions bangs from her face and inspects the gems on her cheeks with her hand to make sure there was no magic surge or exhaustion damage.
"Intact functionally. Concern limitations, strain discharge temporal." Answers the fusion indifferently as she is being helped up, her single eye inspecting tank for any sign of damage as she is set ontop of Brynhild and her head using Carbide as pillow.
Pallasite does nothing to prevent Carbide from removing her bangs and inspect her gems. While she lacks where one would expect her second eyeball to be, both her gems appear to be perfectly fine and intact. Pallasite remains motionless as Carbide's hand nears the compressed trillion cut gem on her right cheek, her eye seemingly scanning surroundings. As Carbide's hand nears her octagonal cut gem on her left cheek however, the gem fusion tenses and her diamond shaped iris darts over watch Carbides hand. The moment Carbide removes her hand, the gem fusion once again relaxes and continues to survey the area.
"Idleness unrequired... structure self form primary uninept. Articulation capacity wholesomely operable!" she states optimistically as she raises her head and looks to her legs, giving them a small kick to show that she is capable of movement still.

Carbide notices the Fusion flinch somewhat when she nears the gem core on her left cheek and immediately backs her hand off, moving Palassite's bangs back into their usual place, draped over the eyeless side of her face. "I apologize Pallasite if that got a little close for comfort and I apologize to your constituent gems, I understand if one of you is somewhat uncomfortable, and I apologize to her fusion mate as well for making her partner uncomfortable. So really all three of you."
She grins when Pallasite insists upon her good condition and wiggles her feet some what. "Okay then, let's get you up onto your gravity connectors...hehe...gravity, i'll bet it's been a little while since you felt that pull down on your gemform Hmm? "
Carbide boosts herself and Pallasite up, gripping her under one arm and sets her on her feet then looks back at the tank, Brynhild, who aside from looking like her steel treads were sunk about 8 or 9 inches into the soft ground of the grassy meadow, from the hard landing, looked undamaged, no spung shocks or broken suspension springs to be seen. As a matter of fact it looked relatively peaceful in the bring morning sun as a finch landed on her barrel and hopped about.
"Well, if you're absolutely sure you're okay, then perhaps a quick examination of your machine's engine is in order then a test drive?"
Pallasite quizzically stares at Carbide as she profusely apologizes to her and her component gems for... making her uncomfortable? Pallasite stares blankly at her for a few moments more, then lets out snort as she tries to hold back her laughter as she can almost hear the faint voices of Magnetitie teasing Fayalite for being a little protective to her.
By the time her laughter subsides, she was being set down to the ground by Carbide. The feeling of her feet touching the ground was... unfamiliar and uncomfortable Pallasite as she was not accustomed to walking on the ground due to her floating everywhere she goes.
"Complying! Experiment inspectorate of propulsion generator primary!" she exclaims as she takes her first step on solid ground since... ever.
Each step for the gem as she struggle and difficult to watch. Her arms are outstretched as she tries to find her balance with each step on her shaky legs. As she goes to take another step, she begins to lose balance and begins to fall.
"Whaaa ah ah ahhh ahhh aAHHH AHHH AHHH WHHAAAA!"
With a sudden jerk forward she stumbles forward and miraculous doesn't fall face first into the meadow as she breaths a sigh of relief.

Carbide sighs in relief when Pallasite starts to chuckle then finally bust out laughing. "Don't think I had ever heard you laugh before!" As her friend takes a few wobbly steps, she blinks and realizes that Pallasite has never, in fact, attempted walking in her fusion form. She giggles slightly and reaches out, grabbing the Fusion's hand and steadying her up. "Hmm, well perhaps the tank engine can wait a few more moments, hehe! I guess this is something new of you!"
After a moment, she feels Pallasite straighten up and pull away a bit so she lets her hand go and watches as she begins moving again. At least the ground in the meadow was plenty soft, and lush with grasses and flowers and such, not a bad surface to fall on at all.
"Well there ya go! You'll be a regular 'ground pounder' with your boots in the dust like the rest of us in no time!" She was about to get to drive a tank AND got to see her friend's first real steps all in the same day. It was turning out to be more memorable than she had ever expected a visit to an old toy factory ever could be!
"So do you think you would feel like telling me a bit more about your constituent gems some time when we aren't learning to walk or revive an old human war machine? I've never fused with anyone, so I'll admit im pretty curious about what its like. But first things first."
Pallasite appeared grateful for Carbide's assistance for making sure that she doesn't trip over her own feet and fall. She has gotten better handle on the finer mechanics to walking, even if she looks like tightrope walker with the way she has her arms outstretched and her small timid steps. She twists her head back to her friend behind her upon listening to her ground-pounder comment. Her eye slowly draws down to her feet. She proceeds to stomp on the ground a few times in place but finds the impact of her feet have no appreciable effect on the ground.
"Hmmm... seismic thumping impact occurring outermost geosphere coating minimal." she notes before she continues to wobbly walk her way to the compartment that holds the tank's engine.
"Assuredly! Educate ablest subject implicating fused naturely of self." states with a bit of enthusiasm.
Once she stands just behind the back of the tank, Pallasite raisers her right arm and flicks her wrist as she begins to explain.
"Engaging with fusion... dou transition to singular being. Constitute gems present... yet not present new... new..."
There was a stagnate pause as nothing appeared to have have happened when she flicked her wrist. Pallasite flicks her wrist once again, with only the hatch in the back giving a slight heave before slamming closed. The gem fusion blinks, then turns to look at Carbide.
"Errr..fatigue onset inadequate performance. Accession motion propulsion unit incapable." says Pallasite she stands there nervously interlocks her fingers with each other.

Carbide leans agianst the tank, propping her chin up on her elbows as she listens to Pallasite begin to explain some of the ins and outs of fusion. Much of it she had heard befroe, in a mater of factly fasion, but hearing it from an active fusion seemed to pack more significance.
Her little trance is broken when she notices Pallasite make a gesture with her wrist and hand that was boubtless meant to interact with some metallic part of the tank, and in the end the engine hatch only shudders and bumps a bit. "Hmm, thats strange.." She tilts her head and looks over at her fusion friend who stood there wringing her fingers back and forth.. "Errr..fatigue onset inadequate performance. Accession motion propulsion unit incapable."
Letting her mind work for a second to catch up with Pallasite's speech patterns she, lifts her head off her hands and hops back over to the engine hatch, squatting down and gripping the access handles, giving a twist of the stubborn metal and lifting them open like a set of heavy doors, exposing Hildi's dusty engine.
"Don't worry yourself too much Pallasite, ive seen it happen plenty of times where a gem over-strains their powers and their energy sort of... reatreats.. back into their gem core. Theres usually enough to maintain their gemform of course, but some times their special abilities seem to drop off for a day or so. Its happened to me a few times as well when ive asked too much of my body's durability... not fun when you think youre still immune to extreme heat and make a grab at something hot though..that wasnt fun." Carbide shakes her head a bit, to try and shoo the memory to the back of her mind once again.
That being done she wipes her nose a bit, but ends up leaving an even diriter smudge across her face.."Silly as it sounds, but trying some sleep seems to make such things as special abilities replenish faster. It seems like it would be a strictly organic practice, but I have found it to be beneficial on many occasions to pass the time, recover energy or just ..not have to think and work my mind"
She holds out her hand to the gorund-level gem in an offer to help her hop up on top of the hull to watch while Carbide set about making sure the aged (in human terms) engine components were still sound and fit to run.
"Anyway.. while youre up here, care to elaborate on the fusion thing a bit more? I may end up needing an extra set of hands here too, think of all this walking, jumping and manual manipulation of objects to be aaaa.. learning exerpeince and a handy set of skills in case you ever get over fatigued again."
Pallasite observes Carbide removing the hatch in the back to expose the engine block that powered the human war machine. Pallasite stared at Carbide blankly as she was told that she was likely going to be grounded for a bit longer, finding a bit of displeasure with the possibility but it didn't quite show on her face.
"Comatose status unrequired... performance unneeded gemform functionality." Pallasite states as she takes Carbide's hand to assist her on the backside of the tank, allowing her to inspect the tank's engine without obstruction.
As her iris dances about in her eye, inspecting every component in rapid succession, she listens to Carbide's request to further detail what it is like to be a fusion to which Pallasite obliges.
"Purportedly! Translation of sensation... laborious? Laborious. Connection of...parts two soldered in togetherness. Each unique but... develops a... wholesomeness. So... networked entirely two evolve to single. Magnetite, Fayalite, still present but... kindered echos, interweaved with other and another to allow division and distinction. Pallasite... amalgamation... product of all they are: experiences, emotions, form, function... all blended till homogenious. As Pallasite... embodiment desire to remain intertanged for duration of eternity. Carbide... compute?" responds Pallasite, struggling to do her best explain what its like to be a fusion.

Pallasite's words were always a little bit ecclectic but Carbide seemed to feel their meaning just fine. After all, it seems like whenever someone talks about an important relationship, that words can become tricky to find, so it was actually kind of nice to see that Pallas had some deep feelings on the matter.
The fact that she seemed to be able to articulate her thoughts while performing other tasks was nice too, although a few of her words seemed to stand out in Carbide's mind.."kindred echos" "division and disticntion" "embodiment deire to remain interanged for duration of eternity"
"Wow, eternity hmm? I'm glad youve found something youre so sure in, its certainly more than I've ever felt so far, but it could be that im a teeny bit scared to feel quite that much." Carbide blinks, falling back into her own thoughts for a moment while Pallasite's eye continues to rapidly scan the components of Hildi's engine, far faster than she could hope to keep up. The fusion certainly had the edge in that regard, so she busies herself checking a few of the moving parts, grasping the fly wheel and making sure that nothing seemed siezed, then checking for obvious damage to the belts and plug wires...
"But yeah Pallas, I think I compute what youre saying. I'd probably be scared and mess it up the first time, but Fusion seems to be more of an accepted thing on this planet, especially the long term kind, perhaps I'll experience it for myself some time.. *snrrrk!* If I could find anyone who could stand having their mind mashed up with mine, I'm probably a bit of a mess!" The scout rolls into a bit of a giggle fit that kind of tapers off into a quiet expression for a moment.
"Well, going by what I've learned about simple human-built internal combustion engines, I think that Hildi just might function, any thoughts?"
Pallasite listens to her friend's response to her thoughts on fusion. While Carbide was curious about process fusion, Pallasite noted seemed to reluctant to allow herself to become so close to another gem to allow fusion to occur.
"Angst and unsettleness of variables unknown and undiscovered... emotions natural. Fusion require not perfection but understanding mutual, unstable form otherwise. Proper prancing sequence also required... synchronization catalysis. State of fusion is... experience. No gem shortage for candidates upon geosphere... require only willingness of participants. Welcome to direct inquires to self. Oh... extensive collection discs of melodies for... finding motion if difficult upon silence." states Pallasite, trying to reassure Carbide that if she really wanted to try fusing the opportunities where out there.
With that conversation out of the way, Pallasite crawls away from the engine and allows the hatch to fall, sealing the engine off once more.
"Ways any, complete inspection. Design and structure sound. Byrnhild operational functionally. Ignition prescribed to enable motion!" pleasantly states Pallasite.
"Errr... uncertain of mechanism to enable ignition prescription... among regulatory paneling internal of carapace." states Pallasite sheepishly as she has never actually tried to start up the human old human tech. While she understood how it functioned, relatively, she was uncertain as to what the controls actually do.

Carbide had to hand it to Pallasite... she sure knew how to make a lot of good sense, she liked that about her. Carbide grins and speaks, "Tell you what Pallasite, if I end up in the company of another gem who feels right in all the ways you described, You'll be the first to know, and I'll even come and take you up on your offer to share your music collection, I'm certain you could help pick out something suitable. Now... was for getting this thing started.."
Carbide hops up and dusts her hands off on her rugged short khaki pants and scrambles up to Hildi's turret, and drops in through the commanders hatch, a moment later her hand emerges and waves Pallas inside as well. "Okay, I think I've spent enough time at the war museum.. hid in there for a week once and checked out eeeverything. Anyway.."
Carbide wiggles her way forward into the driviers chair and pops open the smaller hatch so she can get some better light and more room for her relatively tall frame. She scans the faded and cracked paint on the panel there, and pushes the various levers and pedals at her feet, testing to see if all the linkages still were good. Following this she bites her bottom lip while scanning the panel before her, she locates a small pump lever labeled "PRIME" and works it back and forth for a few moments, until she seems satisfied and presses the clutch pedal all the way in and reaches out to a dirty red press button labeled "IGNITION" and holds it down with her thumb.
All of a sudden there was a tremendous tremor through Hildi's heavy steel hull, as the engine, stiff from disuse, struggles to shudder and turn.. coughing and protesting and then finally yielding to the growing fire in her cylander chambers. The shuddering chugging noise quickly becomes a confident rumble as black sooty exhaust pours out the engine's exhaust vents at the back. The scout fishes a vanilla cigarillo from her pocket dimension, light it with a magic spark, then drops the dusty old army helmet back on her noggin and looks back over her shoulder giving an entusiastic thumbs up and extatic grin, cigarillo clenched in her teeth and mouthing somtething, but its somewhat lost over the roar of Brynhild's revived power plant.
Pallasite observes her friend as she shimmies her way through the hatch and enter the belly of the old Sherman jumbo tank. Once given the invitation to join her, Pallasite crawls her way to the hatch and attempts to shimmy her way down the commander's cupola yet finds herself stuck due to her wide, bell-shaped "skirt" preventing the rest of her body to enter inside. The gem fusion looks around herself in confusion, then wiggles her entire body but still finds herself stuck. Pallasite looks down to the cupola, crossing her arms and puffing her cheeks in mild annoyance. Then her face suddenly lights up she is struck with an idea of how to get herself out of this predicament. Pallasite takes in a deep breath and closes her single eye as she decorative skirt compresses itself around her legs. Now thin enough to fit through the hole, Pallasite proceeds to enter the tank by falling to the floor of the tank. There an audible thunk as she lands on the floor of thank, wincing as her bottom makes contact with the metal panels. Pallasite groans somewhat, rubbing her behind as she pulls herself up with a piece of railing to help her stand. As she recovers, she looks Carbide in the driver's seat looking for what she assumed to be the activation seat. Her gaze then sets to the unoccupied gunner's seat and pulls herself to what she personally refers to as rear cushioner apparatus. Pallasite takes seat, erects her posture and looks down to Carbide just tank roars with life.
Pallasite bounces in her seat, initially startled but later morphs to a sort of giddiness as her head jerks about in every direction as she watches the old human machine sputter to life.
"OH! Brunhilde chirps!" she remarks excitedly, clutching her hands onto the seat as the kicking of reverberating cylinders causes her to feel the vibrations up to her very gem cores.

Carbide looks back through the cramped cabin of the tank and sees Pallasite perched in The chair, apparently buzzing with excitement.. or engine vibrations, possibly both. Either way it was nice to see the normally composed and factual fusion having a bit of fun, stars knew Carbide was anyway.
"Haha! Yes indeed, she chirps, she rumbles, she bangs! Now how bout we find out if she moves too, instead of just sitting here, looking and sounding and..*koff* smelling pretty with old engine fumes, haha? Oh, and the slender skirt is a good look for you Pallas!" Carbide sends a wink her way then spins about in her chair. It was the moment of truth, she chews the cigarillo, stoking the cherry into a glow, grasps the levers at either side of the drivers seat and plants her feet on the pedals at her feet. Her gloved palm rests on the gear selector as her boots pushes down on the clutch, she selects the lowest gear at revs up the engine with the other foot, slowly easing back the clutch with the other nice and easy, not wanting to jar the transmission of the obsolete machine.
As the clutch is released the transmission bites in on the drive gear and with an lurch and a metallic rattle, the drive cogs at the front of the tracks engage and Hildi's treads carve into the soft meadow soil, the machine remains still a moment but soon the treads get purchase and the machine lurches out of the deep divets it sunk it itself into when it dropped. "Wa-Hoo! Here we go!" The scout's normally catty gravely voice was almost a full excited giddy octave higher!
"Wooo! Amerikanische Panzer rollen wieder!" She calls out, raising a fist in the air as she clunks the transmission into a higher gear, picking up speed as she sticks her head out the drivers hatch, in time for her to realize the tank has just torn through a mud hole, splattering her dark plum visor with some clumps of soggy earth..
Pallasite blinks, then cocks her head a little to her left she smiles warmly to her.
"Boundless gramercy!" thanks Pallasite.
Pallasite remains her her seat, her hand holding on the sides of the chair to help prevent herself from falling out. As she remains seated the gem fusion settles to watches Carbide, or more appropriately observe Carbide as she works the controls of the human war machine and trying to correlate the tank's actions with whatever lever, switch, or petal Carbide uses. As she continues to watch Carbide from back of the tank, part of her amused by friends newfound joy. The other part, happy they they could their friend live out driving an armored war machine. The moment Carbide speaks German however, Pallasite cocks her head in the other direction, thinking that Carbide was somehow so excited that she forget how to properly speak.

Carbide wipes off her visor with the back of her hand, making a bit of a mess into an even worse one. Grumbling for a moment, she slows down and dispels her existing visor only to summon a new unsullied one in its place...
"Ah thats much much better... hmm whats that? OHHHH! Hehe, did you not know that not all humans speak the same language? There's gotta be over a thousand languages on this planet, although there's probably... 10 or 12 that are very wide spread! That was something from a language called.. Deutche... or German.. depending if you're a native speaker of it. It basically meant.. the tanks are rolling again!"
Carbide's gaze snaps forward and she makes a startled face and pulls hard on the left side directional lever, in time to make the tank swerve out of the way of a massive oak tree. She want too worried about their safety, although a hard stop like that could damage their new ride, and they had only just gotten it up and running.. "Woah, Hang on!..Almost got it! We're safe!..So where do we want to take this thing? Drive it around the meadow some more.. or roll up to the Beach City boardwalk and get some Ice Cream and Funnel Cakes? Haha!"
The scout notices Pallas' one eyed gaze following the movements of her hands and feet on the pedals of the tank, quickly figuring out that the fusion was mapping her movements and actions, by correlating them with the behavior of the tank. "Just let me know if you feel like trying to drive, She's your tank after all. Its a little tricky, but I'm sure you'll be an expert very quickly!"
Melody: as usual, just waiting for posts

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
