Aragon scowled a little at the dapper Opalite, leaning on the bar as he leered a little. "Ay don'e knohw, dehpends on how soon ye wan' yerr hat mohlested." It was hard to tell whether he was joking or not, but he seemed to be keeping himself from jumping to any conclusions...just barely.
But soon enough, Carbide brought him back down with a quick explanation, leaving him sighing in relief. "Et's fayne, rehlly. En frankly, Ay'm glad I ended up here, even if I rrealized ahll tew layte what Ay was rrehly feyghten furr thes whole time. Ay've got m' course set, even ef I'm a bet rust'eh, and starten' tomorrow, I'm gonna start dewen' m' part to protect Beach Cit'eh." He smiled softly, wiping out his empty mug with a damp dag, stepping over to the sink and filling it up with water, rinsing it out before setting it to dry.
"By the way, ye' mentioned bein' short of a game-boy, eh? Ay've got a special one Ay wouldn't mind given away. Rehl pretteh one, kinda bronze-gold-ish with e yellow...cute theng on it. A...pee-ka-choo? I thenk et's called? Well, 'Agate' cen 'ave it anyhoo."

If he wasn't already grinning, he would do it again! He was almost glad at how the new bar keep took his little taunt... up until he had said something about his hat. With his index and thumb, he pinches the brim of his hat and runs his two gripping fingers along the top hat for a moment before locking eyes with the sky blue hued gem, "Darling.... Carbide was NOT kidding about the hat." He was kinda joking... kinda not, while he may be trying to act friendly he isn't going to stand for someone insulting his lovely head gear!
Hearing the clink of the coin that had been flown into his now empty goblet, he glances down before turning his head towards Carbide with almost a confused look in his eyes before she started to speak. "Oh come on, be nice or I'll tell Agate that the reason you haven't returned his game-boy is that you lost it in that rift zone of yours. Original units like that one are tricky to find, even for Pallasite.. and she can find ANYTHING, human tech wise.."
This made O jump just a tad bit.... Agate had shown Mr. O his smol game... thing and Opalite was just about addicted from the moment Agate placed the device in his clothed hands, "Y-You wouldn't! I mean... I didn't lose it... per say just... still... um.... using it." He hated having to admit something like that to Carbide... but the little game he had been playing with these other creatures that fight each other was keeping him entertained for HOURS almost even days... maybe it was days... time can be weird in the rift dimension. The slender gems cheeks seem to almost grow a pail white, it seems something as simple as this was enough for him to blush a bit.
Growing quite after that lil... spurt, he watched as the two gems spoke, his head perking up a bit at the sound of another little game thing, if they had two.... both Agate AND Opalite could play together but... "How do I ask this?! UGH! Stupid humans mannerisms..." He thought to himself... he leaned onto the bar trying to look casual... not very well.

Carbide breaks down into a bit of a giggle snort chortle, blowing a blub of air into her mug, making her sputter a little bit as she watches Opalite's response to her little threat about the game boy. It wasnt too to often that she got a real reaction out of the homeworld inquisitor anyway.
As she calms her breathing and clears her throat, she peers a bit closer at Aragonite and his costume. She had learned a thing or two about human fantasy stories and games and the like, so she was curious to find out just how deep her host's knowledge and passion really went after Opalite had posed his somewhat awkward half-question.
"Soooooo, of all the elf types, what made you pick a drow type appearance for your little venue here? Theres a lot of elf types in human fantasy and literature... I dont know all of them, but i like to think my geek-ly prowess can stand up to a bit"
Unbeknownst to many about her, the scout was somewhat prone to sneaking into human libraries during daylight hours, shape shifting into a... plant or photocopier or some such thing when it was closing time, and then shifting back once the place was empty and having free run of the place. Of course the scout could have probably just signed up for a library card like any normal person, but she was a little worried that they might not do that for a gem.. something about that 'no fixed address' thing..
Anyway, she had burried her nose in the fantasy and adventure section a number of times until the click and rattle of the front door being unlocked and the early morning sun streaming in the windows made her jump and make a hasty shape shifting retreat while the facility was opened again for the day.
"I mean.. I can't fault you for likeing the drow! So dark and mysterious and *the scout blushes blackish plum* they seem to get some really.. erm... exotic outfits.. not to mention cool looking armor and other awseome monsters that creep about the deep underground!" She pauses a moment, realizing she had gone off on somewhat of a rant and a tangent, straightening up in her chair, trying to regain somewhat of a sense of composure and dignity.
"I thenk ye' juhst say...'please'." A little Gameboy Color floated over to the Opalite and placed itself gently in front of him as the gravity shifted and flowed around the device. "En 'thenk you'. But et's fayne. Juhst brengen' a anohtherr smayle to someone is good enough ferr me."
Aragon flashed a happy smile at the Opalite, entirely genuine in his heartfelt generosity. His gaze turned to Carbide as she tried to geek out, he couldn't help but giggle, a little glint in his eye as his brain stretched itself, ready to unload its master archive of nerd-knowledge-y. "Et's pretty simpul, actewaleh. The Drow are monsterrs, completely despicable, akin to Homewehrrld, if Homewehrrld was en a constant stayte of cevel war and employed eh...sehxual violence as one ehf many means ehf poletecs. But even in the medst of the horrible, constent atrocetehs, one soul rose above et ahll en struhck out from th' Underdahrrk. Ended up becohmin' a herro of hes own, feyghten' for 'is friends and everyone who can't fend for themselves...inspired me to start the vigilanteh geg."
He smirked, and opened his mouth to utter the name: "Drizzt Do'Urden."
Opalite's goblet swung out, slinging the coin out and sending it hurtling towards his face! His hand snapped out to catch it, unflinching as he kept his gaze on Carbide, flicking the goblet under the counter and shifting the gravity again as it tugged at the spigot lever, filling Opalite's drink back up and carefully prying it away as the goblet gently floated back to its spot in front of the dapper Gem. "Hopefully ye've read some of Salvatore's werrks, quite the treet to make the hours roll by. But my gelteh pleasurr'e es Quantem Thief."

"Hmp!..." The slightly agitated Inquisitor crossed his arms over his chest in an almost griping fashion as Carbide laughed, while he pretty much expected it from her as he would do the same thing if given the option to do so of course. "I thenk ye' juhst say...'please'." Life on Earth was strange indeed for Mr. O.... on Homeworld he was treated with almost as much respect as a Diamond! Mostly out of fear, all O had to do to take a gem was say that they peaked his interested... and they would find themselves locked up in a dark room without remembering how they got there.
Here on Earth.... it just wasn't that way and it seems that the posh Inquisitor might even be a tad home sick, or maybe he just really missed the groveling and power he held on the home planet. "En 'thenk you'. But et's fayne. Juhst brengen' a anohtherr smayle to someone is good enough ferr me." While dilly dallying in lala land he had almost forgot he was around other gems, "Right dear! Hm... Thank you... I think this will make Agate quite happy!", "Me as well..." He mumbled towards the end under his un-needed breath.
O watched as the two gems spoke about.... drow? What was a "drow elf" or.... just what in his name was an elf?! While his iconic smile still ever present across his sky blue face he seemed to switch over to a more confused look, clearly not having any idea what the two were talking about. In his confusion he had not noticed his goblet was refilled until looking down as it was placed before him once more. "Oh! Why thank you yet again hun!" He spoke wrapping a clothed hand around the base and taking a swig, enjoying the natural flavor of the wine, with the lovely scent filling his scent sponge.

Carbide chuckles as her gaze follows the gravity manipulations of their host, glowing a bit as he rattles off his vast enthusiasm for the drow race and genre of fantasy literature. It was nice to see someone doing exactly what they wanted to do, and enjoying it to boot, as opposed to just surviving, or running around feverishly looking for discarded gem tech that was antiquated relics by modern standards, in futile attempts to cobble together enough gear to punch a strong enough signal to Home World.. if they would even bother to answer, that is.
"Hmm, I must admit I have not read that series of books yet. Lately I have been working my way through the Council Wars Series.. its sort of an off the wall far futrure/fall of technology/mythic creature/rebuilding of society fantasy book by some human called John Ringo.. Tell you what, I'll give this Drizzt character a try, and maybe you would give the council wars a try."
Her gaze drifted from time to time to the ever stoic, but grandly grandiose Opalite and she thought she should poke and pry a little bit after he had finished his sip.."SO... I may know a lot about you dear Opalite, but youve never told me what sort of idle distractions and entertainment youve picked up since becoming marooned on this world with all of us as well. I know you like to march about in your rift plane and people watch, and the Game Boy thing I can hardly hold against you, but youre an intellectual, so with what do you occupy AND exercise your mind and imagination, hmm?"

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
