The green Gem watched the floating screen and studied the plans of the Colony She scrolled down the holographic pictures of the structures that were built on Earth, she was well aware, only 5% of the planas were completed... the original plans were about 89 Kindergartens, 67 Spires, a Galaxy Warp in each Facet, and the efficient usage of all available resources of the planet; she closed the screen and truned off the device Jade planned to visit most of the sites, to check them out... But there was an obvious first choice: The Lunar Sea Spire... it was in the middle of the ocean She frowned a bit, Jade was never the big fan of the waters... it was an age old question, which was the stronger, the sea or it's coast? Bit that wasn't improtant With a rumble a flat boulder slowly raised with her; travelling on the flating rock, she headed toward the Spire
Melody had been spending the day at the Lunar Sea Spire, once again trying to restore it to its former glory. After a few weeks, she had made relative progress. A few of the pillars were back in shape and some statues were back to their old shape was well. Of course there was obviously a lot of work left, but she was happy to do what she could. One day though, she could have sworn she heard something making it's way towards the Spire. As the Chrysocolla looked up from one of the pillars, her eyes widened in shock as she saw a floating rock coming towards her with quite the gem on it, or at least a tall one at that. "Well...this is certainly different."
Lady Jade watched the Spire silently It was a majestic sight! But she was well aware of the (very painful) price of such a beauty The mini island slowed down, when she aproached the beautiful Gem sturcture and parked next to it Actually Jade rearly walked, she simply willed the earth under her to move The earth itself moved under her, formed a footbridge that conencted it with the spire, and moved under her, carried the green Gem and her bag on "its back" in She sent away the boulder with a tought, wich landed in the ocean with a splash, and looked around Jade moved without moving (the bag moved next to her^^)... for some this was a bit eerie, the tall silent Gem as she moved slowly... without any movement.
Chrysocolla watched in surprise as the mysterious new gem "landed" near the spire. "H-hello...welcome to the Lunar Sea Spire. Apologies that it's not in the best shape...trying my best to fix it up" Melody smiled and watched as Jade moved up to her, or at least...did she move? It was hard to tell, but somehow she was getting closer "I'm Lady Chrysocolla, also called Melody. I'm..kind of an unofficial guardian here. Been trying to fix the place up to it's former glory somewhat. Any chance you can tell me why you're here?" Melody was trying to make sense of this newcomer, she hadn't seen a gem this big in some time. It didn't seem to be a quartz at least..
Lady Jade moved slowly... watched the other blueish Gem Her voice was quiet, bearly a whisper; enough for a civilized conversation, fitting to the Courts "You are a Chrysocolla. Your Facet? Cut? There are other chrysocollas in the Empire... they are bards, if I recal correctly. Entertainers. Not nobles."
Her voice was cold, but not hostile
"Which one is your Diamond? And who gave you the Melody "code name?"... and it seems you have forgotten how to make a Diamond salute, how to greet a noble... or any Gem properly"
She passed Melody, looked around with a little movement to the right, then to the left with her head
"You tried to fix the Spire... then you made a terrible job. There is no shame in that. You are a musician. Not a Bismuth..."
Slowly she turned to Melody. Not just by her face, her whole body turned, without any movement; like if she would stand on a rotating platform. Wich in a sense was true.
"I am Jade - Facet-5C7Q Cut-7ZX, from Pink Diamond's Court... You may adress me as "your majesty", "mistress" or "Lady" Jade.
Melody blushed heavily, having not been asked that in some time. "My apologies. Facet-3T9S Cut-2QH, and um...well my Diamond's Blue Diamond." The Chyrsocolla hadn't been asked to do the salute or...anything like this in a long time. She quickly did the Diamond salute when she got the chance, blushing heavily out of embarrassment "I'm so sorry Mistress Jade, I-I haven't had to name off my Facet or cut or...well, do any of this in a long time. And yes, I'm technically an entertainer. Not much of a noble..that's just an unofficial thing another gem here on Earth called me." Melody watched Lady Jade move around, and tried to keep her composure to show the amount of respect necessary "I was stationed here at the Spire as a performer..was alone for a long time. I apologize for doing a terrible job, it just hurts me to see the spire in this condition"
Was a simple question... but came from a quiet, silent green marble, or jade statue like noble Gem In a simple world there was several hidden questions Why? Why she neglected to name her Facet and Cut lately? Why she didn't had to salute? Why she forgot, basically, how to be a good little, obidient loyal Gem?^^ A simple, polite question... not from an Inqusitior, not from a torturer... not from an inspector, not from a magistrate Just a simple, polite, quite question from a noble courtier
"I see... somebody called you a lady, and you accpeted the tittle, not to hurt the other Gem's feelings I presume..."
She just stood there like a statue
"The spire needs to be fixed as soon as possible Facet-3T9S Cut-2QH Chyrsocolla... You said, long time. Am I right? How long time? The Galaxy Warp is offline only for almost four solar cycle. Before that this was a backwater planet, I know, but it wasn't a forgotten grain of sand.
Melody sighed "Because I haven't had anyone of your importance to really do...any of that in front of. This planet has gone through some rough times Mistress." She looked up at Lady Jade, clearly somewhat embarrassed. "A rebellion of sorts occurred a few solar cycles ago, I believe from what I remember, a Rose Quartz took out The Galaxy Warp and then proceeded to form a group known as the Crystal Gems. The group seems to care about the humans that live on this world, and they appear to be willing to protect them. After the warp was taken out, I stayed here at the Spire and hoped that more gems would come but...visitors were rare, and they're just as rare now. O-of course I'm glad I could be in the presence a magnificent gem like yourself." The Chrysocolla thought back, remembering the amount of times she truly felt lonely on the spire..the music was all sad at that time...nothing happy or good ever came out
"The Crystal Gems... how... interesting that name is! Maybe there are more behind the name. Tell me Chrscolla, what do you think about them?"
She was a bit curious
"To be honest, I am a bit surpised. You are the only Loyal Gem that remained on Earth? You had no help, nor sympathy?"
But a question bothered her
"The Lunar Sea Spire is in bad shape... whats happened? The Crystal Gems attacked it? Or the Loyals to chase away the Rebels? Or... the Humans, to wage war with the Gems? This should be an important site! Socially and politically! And yet... it is empty, silent and in ruins! You were alone here? "
Melody shook her head "No, I'm not the only Loyal gem. We were scattered so to speak once the warp was taken down, it was hard to find gems to talk to." She sighed and looked up at Jade "I can understand why the Crystal Gems are doing what they are doing. I would likely do something similar if I had someone or something that I wanted to try to care about. At the same time..I just have a tiny bit of inner conflict for what side." The Chrysocolla tried her best to remember "Um..I honestly can't remember. I don't recall any conflicts, but at the same time, with a lack of gems to help maintain the appearance, the spire fell into disrepair."
It wasn't an order It was just a fact, told by Lady Jade^^
"So you could understand the Crystal Gems..."
It was logical. The Chyrsocolla was after all an entertainer, an artist, she had to learn this; to "feel" and "understand" her audiance, and know when to improvise Jade never mastered the art of improvisation, but she vallued that trait in other Gems
The green lady asked again again that dreaded little one word...^^ A word, full of hidden questions Why did the Crystal Gems done the things they have done? Why are they doing what they are doing?
"I know, you are not a Rebel..."
This wasn't completely true, but wasn't entirely a lie either
"Well..." Chrysocolla had to think about that for a minute, what was the real reason that the Crystal Gems did that? "I suppose that some of them got attached to the humans, and therefore they were willing to do anything that they could to defend them. That's my opinion on this at least, I would do anything to defend stuff that I liked if the situation called for it." She shrugged and looked up at Jade "You're right, I'm not a Rebel. However, I can assure you that I've been taking everything into..consideration. For some reason I don't think that I can decide easily what to do..or at least, I keep getting situations that present themselves as to why I should stick to a certain side in all of this"
"...therefore they were willing to do anything that they could to defend them. "
She pondered on that a bit It was... strange And quite disturbing Trubled young Gems... sudden decisions, acting without thinking or considering alternatives or the consequences
"...you would do anything to defend the stuffs that you like? Anything? "
Lady Jade was curious
"There are no sides Chyrsocolla"
She reminded Melody politely
"But please, tell me why do you think, there are sides?"
Of course there were sides, as a noble, big player of the courtly games, she was well aware of that fact But the oppinion of an entertainer, a Gem's oppinion who had her finger on the porverbial pulse of the common folks... the Gems, well that was precious
"It...would depend on the circumstances I think" Melody sighed, realizing what she just said. "And I feel like there are sides, mainly because there are going to be two different viewpoints in any conversation or argument, right? It just happens that in this case the argument is one that can have several violent impacts." The Chrysocolla looked out at the ocean "I'm just nervous about this whole thing. No matter what, I've been stuck with no way to contact my Diamond...and admittedly part of me misses being back on Homeworld, and Blue Diamond...gah...I'm sorry, I'm getting off track." She blushed and looked at the stone floor, not sure just what else to say in the circumstances "I suppose that's all I have in terms of views"
It was a funny and interesting thing... Lady Jade clearly saw, Chyrsocolla thought the whole uncomfortable situation with Earth was just argument between Gems Of course in a sense thats was true With sides and all... but it was, naturally, way way more complicated
"Nobody would dare to argue with a Diamond...and the Diamond's will is Law"
Jade reminded the blue Gem
"Tell me please, you were exiled Chyrsocolla from the Empire? If not, why do you think, you have no way to contact your Diamond?"
The Green Lady asked with quiet, polite voice
"Yes, you are off track... a fatal flaw in an entertainer! You must focus Facet-3T9S Cut-2QH Chyrsocolla!"
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
