Name: Pyrite (Fools Gold)
Nickname: Pie
Gender Appearance: Non-Binary/Not Specified (They actually just don't care enough to claim a gender)
Gemstone Location: Left Ear
Corrupted: Nope
Appearance: (Profile Picture) Pyrite has a semi-short and stubby figure, dawning larger arms and hands, while also having small regular sized-legs. Their skin is the color of a dark gold-ish brown that is covered in many pale brown/orange gem specks and splotches. The Hair sports a dull peach color and is partially shaved on the left side of their head.
Pie had taken to wearing human clothes when looking for refuge on earth and has grown accustomed to subtly trying to blend in with humans (i.e. jeans, shirt, scarf, black boots, gloves.)
Personality: Pyrite is a considerably bitter and apathetic gem, taking to giving people the cold shoulder and sticking to themselves, but despite this inner growing need for affection and interactions of other people/gems. Pie has been shown to have trust issues towards their fellow gem and could be proved difficult to tear down their walls and grow close to. They also show indifference towards both Homeworld and the Crystal Gems, and instead takes to hiding amongst the people of earth and distracting themselves from the problem's the earth faces. However, Pie could be persuaded into becoming apart of the CG, though would require good enough reasons as they don't hold strong enough connections to the people of earth, and is willing to accept whatever fate Homeworld would lay upon them as Pie does have some self-worth issues. This could most definitely make Pie look selfish, as they mainly make decisions for their own desires, but if one with an observant eye had spent enough time with the resentful gem, they could see how Pie truly does care for those close to them and would be willing to walk to the ends of the universe to help someone they had gotten close enough to love. Which brings to view that, if someone grows close to them, Pyrite will unknowingly display a nurturing aura that would bring out one's confidence, strengthen willpower, and overall tap into one's flow of ideas and potential/abilities. This also is why Pyrite was considered a good(old) method of growing gems in Kindergartens.
Like/Dislikes:
-The gem appreciates the changing natures of earth, finding it to be breathtaking and intriguingly different from Homeworld, which is why Pyrite has taken to paying close attention to little but shockingly special details on earth.
-They also love affections, as much as they may verbally display their distaste of other's touching them, they truly love to be hugged, or to have their hair petted, or the simple gesture of a hand on a shoulder.
-Has a hidden interest/desire to fuse with another gem, as they had heard that nothing could bring gems closer (Hence Pie's inner need for affections and closeness.)
-Pie doesn't carry a distinct dislike towards anything, just a general bitterness towards most things.
Fears:
Pie has a deep-rooted fear of loneliness, even though it may seem the opposite as they tend to push people away. They find loneliness to be suffocating and gives them a sick feeling of hopelessness.
Weapon: This particular Pyrite was made for the purpose constructing kindergartens, and so was given a simple pickaxe.
Ability: Pyrite has the capability of changing size and growing extra limbs at will, more for the convenience of multitasking while constructing Kindergartens. Also, Pie is a very sturdy-like and strong gem, often using themselves as their shield as they are very hard to poof and pretty difficult to shatter. While these may seem like simple abilities, Pyrites were considered quick and cheap gems who they can split into various constructive/heavy lifting jobs or be used as foot soldiers.
History: Back when Homeworld hadn't yet constructed machines to make Kindergartens, they instead opted to make cheap foot soldier like gems whose abilities and natural auras could both be used to grow naturally healthy and talented gems or sent to the battlefield as cheap throwaway soldiers. Pyrite, among many other gem types, was assigned to tend to the construction of higher quality gems. This process had been proven to be quite slow, but had given great results to those higher up. Because of this, these gems were never really mistreated, but merely seen as one of the lower workers, so never really respected.
Any who, Pie was just like any other gem there, construction, tending, growing. They had done an exceptional job but could be considered as just average, plain, and nothing else. However, Pyrite had began to be unprofessional, and decided to grow close to the newly formed gems or even chat with the gems that hadn't formed yet, something very much displayed as taboo. Pie hadn't really thought of consequences, hadn't even thought of how harmful it could be, growing close to newly forming gems. Consequences did happen however, as growing these relationships with the growing gems, had disrupted Pie's aura and began to grow them towards loyalty for Pyrite, and not the Diamonds. Pyrite didn't know of course, but things were suspicious when these few gems, having grown to maturity, had shown to not obey towards higher ups, being reluctant and unsure of their supposed duties towards the diamonds. When asked who had created them, the gems had shown distinct refusal, and thus was sent to the labs of Homeworld, doomed to the fate of testing and cures for their 'corruption'. Finally, after being wiped of all feelings, and practically brainwashed towards loyalty to the diamonds, all of Pie's creations had pointed their fingers at the oblivious and unsuspecting gem.
Pyrite was sent to trial under secrecy, for spreading the word of growing disloyal gems seemed to be unwise, deciding the gem would not be shattered but instead forced to be exiled into space, Pie then spent thousands of years floating in the endless vacuum of space, alone and uncertain of their future. Eventually of course, Pie had crash landed on earth, left to explore and accept their fate of living on earth. Meanwhile, back on Homeworld, gems were either replaced with machines, or closely monitored on the growing process.
(Ok, sorry for writing so much, and sorry if my backstory is crummy, I'll accept any criticism or ideas as I am kinda in need of some. k cool.)
