Appearance: Padparadscha is 138.0cm tall. Her hair is worn out of the way of her eyes, as her ability requires her to see clearly. Her skin, hair, and eyes can appear to be a scintillating myriad of colors depending on the lighting and the angle at which one is viewing her from, but traverse the hue spectrum between pinks, oranges, and reds. In the field, she wears a close fitting body suit that will be out of her way while she works. On base, she wears flowing, ornate styles and typically changes her look whenever she gets bored with it.

Personality: At heart, Padpara is a loyal seeker of knowledge. She wants to get to the bottom of things and learn the truths that hide beneath the surface, and impart that knowledge onto her fellow gems-- especially her Diamond. Within this pursuit, nothing can stop her. Extremely kinetic and ambitious, this gem rarely takes a moment to relax, preferring instead to commit her entire being to the consumption of information for the sake of contributing to her Diamond's court. She finds the most effective way to reach her goals, and conventions mean little to her if they stand in the way of the truth. When Padpara does find herself on leave or bonding with other gems, she can be incisive and sensitive in the same moment. She prefers to get right to the point and sink her teeth into the substance of any given matter.
This gem has a lot of energy, that she has different ways of expending of it, such as using her abilities. Naturally, her abilities are central to her way of seeing the world. She is extremely curious, and is constantly trying to figure out what the truth of the matter is. She would prefer to be incisive, though there are times when her thought spirals get her caught up; often, she overthinks. Combat isn't something she likes, but it's something she'll do if she feels it's necessary, or if her nerves are tested enough. A lot of her energy is put into expressions of emotions when tensions are high or when she is caught up in the moment. At times, she can become more reckless if provoked.
Ultimately, Padparadscha wants to do what is best for Homeworld, but even more specifically, what is best for Pink Diamond. However, she does sometimes do things for her own benefit, knowing that she is, as a special task investigator, a gem who is relied upon in the greater scheme of the collective that she admires. She likes to think she has a realistic outlook.

Weapon: When in a pinch, Padpara summons two glimmering katar that she grips in her hands. These are a close combat weapon to be used in tandem with her Plasma ability in order to ensure her survival in dangerous situations during wartime or in encounters with organic lifeforms.
Ability 1: Truth Detection-- An analytical and organized sapphire, Padparadscha also has a highly acute sense for the social aspect of an environment. By analyzing the social cues of others, she is able to pick up on their state of mind, though there are times when she gets into thought spirals and gets it wrong. This sense allows her, most of the time, to tell whether or not a gem is lying to her. Typically, the more a gem speaks and emotes to her, the more she picks up on how they might be feeling, and reacts accordingly. Being a very curious gem, she often tries to gather as much data to try to analyze as possible.
Padpara can sense whether the gem she is focusing on is being truthful about what is being said in the present moment. This works like "warm or cold", by that I mean she gets a sense for how truthful the statement is, but her power has the limitation of not being able to reveal to her the exact truth. She needs to use her own ingenuity and talent for interrogation to figure that part out.
This is an analytical ability, so Padaradscha must be in the immediate vicinity of the liar with the ability to pick up on the minor ticks which the majority of gems and other lifeforms present when they are being contradictory to internal knowledge. Visual confirmation is important, but vocal ticks can also trip off her truth detection.

Ability 2: Plasma Conduit-- this elemental power allows her to summon an extremely dense and hot plasma like substance which she can sense as if it were connected to her nervous system. She can use it to keep track of her path and non-organic materials, as well as manipulate her surroundings. Organic materials disintegrate in the event that she attempts to use this power to manipulate them (due to the extreme temperature), though this can give her power a destructive quality. Any gem who cannot withstand extreme high temperatures can be damaged, distorting/burning a hologram form depending on the given gem's resistance to heat.
This ability is primarily defensive when used in a combat situation. The farther the plasma gets from her, the more it cools off. Within a 2 meter radius, the plasma can be used at full velocity, meaning it is able to react, turn, and move as quickly as her own arms can react. This is also where the temperature is at its highest. Outside of this radius it cools and becomes slower. At the 6 meter radius, it moves increasingly slow (less than 10km/h). It forms a crust as it cools, allowing it to be used to pick up large objects or form a defensive barrier. In combat, this can be used to trap gems or other lifeforms in place if they don't move in time. It gasses off as it cools, which can be noxious for organic lifeforms in closed spaces.
Outside of this radius, the plasma hardens, which can be left behind on a path for tracking purposes, or stuck onto objects in order to keep track of them. If these hardened plasmas are interacted with, she will sense it. They can be reincorporated if she finds them again, but will eventually become useless in this regard once they completely harden. This ability was once useful for creating sculptures and facades or other decorative features, but after her deployment to the Sol System, her ability is used as a defensive and tracking implement.

The 8 series padparadscha were created in order to develop a super conducting technology that they were to be implemented in the use of on the planet. However some of them developed useful abilities outside of that, including Padparadscha 8QE. These gems would be applied due to their level of usefulness.
She spent the first two centuries of her life on Homeworld, after her creation there. Those first years were spent testing her plasma ability's aspects and applicability, mostly int he realm of architecture. Then, her truth sense began to become more apparent; it wasn't that she didn't have it when she was created, it was just too subtle to be noticed by her kindergarteners and mentor, a corundum who had been around since the first Era who she doesn't remember too fondly. However, when it did become apparent that she had a heightened ability to read the social cues of gems so precisely as to tell whether they were lying or not, her alternative uses were recognized.
She was given permission to become a field agent and detective on the planet Earth, who was in the process of being colonized. There, she was given her own office on the moon base, and a humble ship which she would use to carry her to earth and back for missions handed down to her from various sources. For decades, she spent most of her time in the judicial court, where inquisitors, lawyers, and other investigators or interrogators would be. Her mission would overall to figure out what the motives were behind the rebellion, and to capture them for interrogation. But, she also remained connected with the rest of the 8 series and their destiny, that she had been ultimately planned for.
