Reassuring sounds (Finished)

[Melody]

There were times when old Pearl was leaving her post in the medical centre. She didn't like to leave, she was slowly getting used to standing there and serving her dear patients. After a meeting with a certain Padparadscha Sapphire she realized that every gem stationing on the Moon was in some way affected by the current events on planet Earth. Everyone was stressed, tired... She honestly hated it. She spent most of her life making sure that her old master was always relaxed. Yes, stress was a natural part of existence, something that couldn't be avoided, but it was still something she wanted to fight. Especially now that she had to take care of more than just a single gem. She knew how damaging it could be for a gemstone from the inside.

So why did she leave her dear Medical Centre? Well the answer was simple, she was tired. All of this negative and depressing energy was making her feel weak. She couldn't work in those conditions. That is why she was taking a small walk around the Moonbase from time to time. She learned from Padparadscha that if she wants to help others, she sometimes has to help herself first.

This time Melody went to the main tower, she loved to watch her Diamond's magnificent mural. It was something she would never grew tired of. But she didn't want to just spend her whole time there again. There were other parts of the base that she was rarely visiting. For example... a training room. Pearl slowly, but surely walked down using stairs to get to the lowers parts of the whole facility. She passed corridors with rooms for common soldier, but also rare aristocrats. She looked around, but nothing caught her eye, everything was the same and there was no gem in sight. It was also extremely quiet. She was only able to hear a sound of her little footsteps and she was pretty good in finding different sounds.

She finally arrived in the room. It was not much, just a small arena with a device on top. On the sides there were places for gems to sit and a console that was used to control the machine attached to the ceiling. Anyone could use it to create a holographic projection for training. There were many options... some holograms resembled Quartz soldiers, some Rubies/other gems designed for fighting and some more common corruptions gems that were roaming on Earth.

Pearl already liked this place for one reason, it was empty at that time. She could relax and no one would disturb her. She sit on one sit and just took a moment to think... Hopefully nobody would come here... or at least not realize she was here. She was so quiet that it was actually highly possible.


Black opal  🔹Marialite🔹

[Black opal]

Black Opal had recently had a run in with a Crystal Gem, she lost, and she didn't like it. She was fuming as she made her way through the moon base and straight to the training room. She was grumbling to herself, rather angrily, so angry in fact that she hadn't noticed anyone else if they were nearby, and it made her forget to wear a mask, so, plain as day, the differently shaped gems on her cheeks showed clearly, though they weren't much darker of a color than her skin, so they would be somewhat difficult to see. She looked around the seemingly empty room and made her way to the console to set up a training program, consisting of all sorts of high level combat based gems. She didn't take her time to get her chain scythes summoned and begin swinging them around expertly, cutting down hologram after hologram, though her technique didn't seem to be at it's best, probably due to her anger.

[🔹Marialite🔹]

Marialite contemplated exactly om the matters of the questioning from that high ranking gem, the sapphire was rather odd in her opinion as she definitely could've forseen the answers she gave. The ruby sized gem headed over to a box and dug her arms into a tool box as she was stationed on the hanger per usual, her manager Andradite arrived with an assignment for her. Marialite frequently felt an overwhelming density around Andradite as she was quite intimidating in terms of height and overall jurisdiction over her.

"Marialite, you are requested to head down into the moonbase  and check on the training rooms central data base to ensure no bugs are apparent at once, Get to it runt." She demanded with her gritted teeth. Marialite shriveled and shaked while executing the diamond salute," Y-yes your excellency, right away." She said while heading past after she took her tool box, she trailed over to the moonbase and entered. Looking at Yellow Diamond's mural made her want to cry for a bit, she missed her orginal diamond, she got to experience less worries back there than here. Marialite blinked as she approached the entrance of the training room, she observed two gems, a pearl and some gem she had never seen before. 

Once Marialite had regained her focus she headed inisde and disregarded the two for a moment while she starting to check on the central data base of the hologram program to examine and fix any malfunctions. 

[Melody]

Nothing good lasts forever, someone did come afterall. And it was someone noisy as well. The stranger was destroying a projection after a projection just for the sake of destroying something. Her knowledge about combat was limited, nearly absent. But even she could see that swinging weapon like that wasn't improving anything. She only glanced for a second at a gem. She really didn't want to interract with them... with anyone for the matter of fact, that is why she came here in the first place, to be alone. She also noticed another gem to come inside, a really small one. 

Pearl was a little bit annoyed after some time. She stood up and approached the gem who seemed to really dislike those holograms. She was behind them( She still haven't seen their face) when she spoke up. Her voice was calm and quiet and her face seemed perhaps a little bit irritated "Pardon me."

[Black opal]

At the sound of someone approaching, Black Opal spun, ready to bring the chain scythe she had a grip on down onto the gem who approached her. Stopping herself just in time to not hit the pearl when she saw that this wasn't a hologram. Only just now registering the other gem's words as she stands up straight and desummons her chain scythes. Only now did she realize one of her many mistakes so she quickly brought her hands up to her face and formed a mask over her face. She hoped she had caught herself in time. "Um... Yeah...?" She asks she still seemed pretty pissed about something, and it didn't seem like busting up a bunch of holograms helped with her anger, in fact it seemed to make it worse because she didn't know what she had done wrong.

[🔹Marialite🔹]

As many visual screens emerged above the control pad, Marialite started to tap a few by jumping to the more higher ones while flipping through the lower ones as well creating a concise examination. At this point she was too preoccupied working rather than having conversations, she wasn’t aware of the Opal and Pearl even talking, suddenly an electrical interference caused the control pad to cause a minor explosion enough for Marialite to be sent slamming into the ground. 

Marialite started to groan a bit as she got herself up, she went over to her tool box and started frequently returning to change the mechanism that she needed to use at the time. Once it was finished she turned back to see the other two, it seemed that the artifact that was powering the program was soon to become useless in function if it weren’t replaced.

Marialite knew quite well her superiors would be furious with her if she didn’t get this fixed right away however she needed to bring some gems primarily as a mean for protect and temporary recording of the events taken place. As she wondered if they were up for the task she approached them with a tilted head, her yellow cat like eyes staring at them,” W-well hello there, I’m Marialite. I’m sorry to be intruding on... whatever you two are doing..but! I was wondering if you guys would like to travel with me to homeworld to retrieve this artifact to power the training room?” She asked.*

[Melody]

Pearl's eyes widened when the weapon nearly hit her. The gem must have been in a worse mood than she originally thought. Because of this attack she didn't notice how they covered their face with a mask. She still found her appearence odd... but she didn't want to be rude. Instead, she wanted to talk about their behaviour "I am afraid you will have to slow down with your training. You might hurt yourself or someone else." She soon added "Are you feeling alright?" 

Suddenly there was an explosion, it wasn't something Pearl expected. She moved her head to see what happened and saw the technician gem on the ground. She wanted to do something, but shequickly stood up and continued her work. It didn't seem like she needed help at the time. But she actually did approached them on her own and introduced herself soon after the incident. Not only that, she also had a strange offer for them.

Melody kneeled down to be closer to this Marialite's eye level. "Hello. As you can see, I am Pearl. I will have to decline your offer, I am not yours. Therefore, I need to stay on the moon."She said with a small smile, still surprised that Marialite acknowledged her existence. She had to admit that a small trip to Homeworld would be nice... But Euclase and her patients were here in the base. She just had to stay, not to mention she literally just met this gem few seconds ago.

[Black opal]

"No, I'm not alright." She says. "I'm pissed, I lost a target..." She says and frowns. "But you're probably right..." She says as her chain scythes fizzle away. She then looks to the other smaller gem. "You'd have a luckier time trying to snatch an artifact from the rebels on earth." She says. "It takes so much less time." She states and narrows her eyes a bit and looks around. "I'd love to get my hands on a rebel to make up for my lost target." She growls to herself. "I'd help you out if I could just figure out what's wrong with my techniques to let the last one escape." She huffs and shakes her head as she pressed her hand to her mask in a facepalm.

[🔹Marialite🔹]

Marialite wasn’t frightened of these two, though the infuriated Blue Opal made her definitely more cautious as she hoped she wouldn’t get anger with her like that. Marialite gives a tilted head at the pearl that kneeled down to her level in general height, as she gave her answer all that she did was narrow her eyes,” Okay, whatever floats your gem I guess.” She said with shrug as she turned her attention over to the Opal. Her suggestion for her to attempt to get one artifact from earth caused her to sway her hands from side to side in unison in front of the Opal,” I’d rather avoid that war-zone. Plus I don’t theyre is anything even effectively operating lefts on the piece of junk. The only way I’m leaving this base is if it’s orders from my superiors. In such case I have authorization to execute this mission though it seems to me that I won’t be getting any help. So therefore, Goodbye!” She said as she headed over to her toolbox to head to the hangar, she would have to do it on her own.

[Melody]

Pearl frowned when the bigger gem spoke to her, she was't a fan of this kind of language, but she didn't dare to correct them. She probably would have reacted if it happened somewhere in a more crowded place, she couldn't allow such a language in the base of her Diamond. However, Melody did smile when the gem admitted she was right. She was afraid it would be harder to convince them.

She wasn't sure how to react to small gem's response. She had her own responsibilities, one of them was staying in the base. Melody just stood up and removed herself from the gem's way. It seemed that they were also ready to leave now. It only seemed right to respond to her farewell. "Goodbye."

Melody turned to the fighter once again "Would you like to talk about your techniques? It is confirmed that communication can solve problems."

Black Opal would grit her teeth and sigh as she nods. "I suppose it would be good to talk about it." She says, she was definitely upset about it, she didn't like the fact that her technique was something that needed to be discussed. She would rub her mask and huff angrily. "I have no clue what I've done wrong to let that rebel get away." She says and growls to herself as she gently hits herself in the forehead with a balled up fist. "Get it together...!" She scolded herself before she would lean back back in a stretch. "What exactly do you propose we discuss?" She asks, seeming annoyed, but not really at anyone or thing but herself.

[Melody]

The gem was willing to cooperate, that was good. Pearl smiled slightly and nodded, she was glad that they were willing to listen.

The gem explained that they were in some sort of conflict with a terrorist from Earth and that their opponent fled. Melody just stood there politely and listened to everything the warrior had to say.  "Let's start with the basics. Why exactly are you mad at yourself?"  She soon continued  "Or what makes you think that it is your fault to begin with? It is not like everything will always go according to your plan. Sometimes you will fail, just like all of us. Only the Diamonds are truly perfect." With a single move of her hand she fixed her hair by putting an unruly curl into its place. 

[Black opal]

"I'm upset because I couldn't see a flaw in my technique." She says. "With the training that w... I've had, there is no reason I should have any flaws, or at the least I should see a flaw if there is one, that's why it's my fault, I let something slip through a crack." She explains and sighs as she rubs her neck, then she looks at her other hand, it seemed to be a darker shade than the one she used to rub her neck. "Hmm, was just a couple of fingers before..." She says to herself before looking at the pearl again, she was obviously not some normal gem, and this didn't show much, yet it would surface on occasion.

[Melody]

"Even the most advanced training won't prepare you for everything. Our universe is and always will be full of surprises." She sighed. Some time ago she wouldn't believe that she will end up working in here. But here she was, a Pearl that was working not for a single gem, but the Moonbase itself. She wasn't even sure if there was any other Pearl like her that ended up in a similar situation."You will make more mistakes, it is unavoidable. But you can find a way to deal with those problems."

Pearl started to notice some quirks in this gem's form. She didn't even know who they were, what kind of gem they were. But there was something odd about her hands. For some reason she also wore this odd mask and there was no visible gemstone. Maybe it was behind this mask, she wasn't sure why it would even be hidden. But she also knew her place in the hierarchy. She couldn't just say it out loud what she thought about their looks.  Not to mention it would be simply rude and unprecedented. Pearls are always suppose to look exactly the way they are asked to. Maybe she was  just asked to look this way. If not for the fact that they were in Pink Diamond's base she would think that she is some sort of fusion.

[Black opal]

She would grit her teeth at the thought of making more mistakes, and scoff. "I... I can't make mistakes..." She says. "I can't afford it..." She would reveal as she turned away and hugged her sides. "I have always done my job with ease, and perfection." She says, sounding distraught, her voice changed for a second, mid sentence, it was hard to notice, but it was there. She would reach up and rub her forehead, though it seemed like it would be pointless, due to the mask she wore. She seemed like she was about to burst without something to calm her nerves, she would likely poof from stress if this continued, the tough attitude she put out seemed gone at this time, and now it was filled with fear and worry.
