"come up here and take a look at the crystal from this angle." Fulgurite was impressed by Tiger's capabilities having launched herself up to the next floor. He smiled a bit and nodded up at her. "Alright then, let's see if a new angle will give a better idea to think about this place." He chuckles as he walked over to the nearest pillar and simply placed his foot against it and began walking up the side of the pillar as if I it were simply a continuation on the floor he was just on. His pony tail still subject to gravity hung limply pointing to the ground below him. "Though to be perfectly honest I've never been huge on wasting physical energy to get from place to place, you tend to miss out on some of the best things the world has to offer by being to quickly."
He shot a quick toothy grin at Tiger as he ascended and once he approached the floor she was on, rather than step on a stand next to her, he made another ninety degree turn and was walking on the ceiling of the floor under neither her. He moved himself until he was lined up under where she was standing and looked at the crystal structure for a bit. He turned his head as he watched the structure and gear began to turn in his head about the building around him. He crossed his arms behind his back and leaned what was forward to him and looked up at Tiger. "You know, I do think this has helped, I've got a few ideas rolling around now."
Walking on walls and ceilings was something that wasn’t unheard of but it was uncommon. Some gems could walk on water, even. Tiger had to quietly and internally admit to herself that was a bit envious of this skill. Fulgurite had given an unintended meaning of Tiger’s call to view the structure from a new angle.
“And you’ll be sorry if you let the worst that our world has to offer get to you because you were moving too slowly.” She was referring to a lot of things: corrupted gems, mostly. But it was important to note that Fulgurite was displaying such pacifist notions. Maybe the reason he had been discharged was because he simply wasn’t cut out for the rigors of missions that the Protection Agency liked to enlist people in. It’s all right, Tiger thought to herself, he makes up for it with his knowhow.
As he leaned forward and look up at her from below, Tiger’s hands which lay at her sides came up to cross her chest again. “Oh, yeah? Like what?” she asked, taking a step forward so that she was standing at the very edge of the landing. She was so far up that the tips of her feet were not planted on solid structure. “I still don’t think you can get this system running again, but you’re getting a lot further than I ever could.”
"...but you’re getting a lot further than I ever could." Fulgurite smiles at those works and fixed the collar on his open shirt the pulled on his one sleave to make sure it still fully covered his arm. "It make take me quite some time but I believe I may be able to get this place up and running, but time is the main things I need as this will be no easy task." He steps to the side of Tiger and leans down, grabbing the edge of the platform and flips his self around it and lands standing next Tiger. He takes a moment to get his hair out of his face before turning to look at Tiger. "And when it comes to what the world has to offer, don't let my calm demeanor fool you, I was not one of the better members of my program, I was the best."
He chuckled a bit before turning around to sit with his legs hanging over the edge . "But besides me bragging, there are a few things that concern me that I've been coming across far to often. This gem corruption, it's very rapidly becoming a problem. I've yet to come face to face but from the research I've gathered it's getting worse as time progresses. I don't suppose that you have any information do you?" He raised an eyebrow continue as he continue to look at Tiger, hoping she would no something about what the corruption was or how it spreading so quickly.
A gem who was the best in his program but still wound up with a discharge to his name? That sounded irrefutably suspicious. Tiger had poked around long enough this time, but she was, again, pocketing away information for later. “Well you’ve got as much time as you want. You can spend the rest of your life tinkering away in here, couldn’t you?” she said, trying to make a point. At this point she was less concerned with ever making it back to Homeworld. After spending thousands of years on this planet it was becoming apparent that she could be here for thousands more.
Fulgurite flipped over and took a seat but Tiger remained standing, even as he asked his question. “I can’t say that I know any more than you do,” she responded, which was a bit of a vague statement since he hadn’t really told her all that he knew so it was impossible for her to say that she had no more information than he did. “I tend to stay away from other gems. You’re the first I’ve seen in a very long time.” Her emphasis on the world very was a likely indicator that she was talking more than just a few months; she was talking about multiple human lifetimes. “Let’s hope my running into you doesn’t start a trend.”
She had managed to stay out of gem affairs for this long and she hoped that could continue, but a sinking feeling in her gut told her that it wouldn’t.
“Let’s hope my running into you doesn’t start a trend.” He bit his lip softly and left out a soft sigh. "Again, sorry about bothering you. Though if it's any consolation you're literally this first gem I've interacted with since my...departure from Homeworld." He spoke carefully trying not to reveal too much more about himself as he had already gone past the point of comfortably released information. Though he wasn't a huge fan of sharing history with other's, he did still enjoy having someone like himself to talk to, not having to keep himself hidden on a regular basis was refreshing. He had tried interacting with humans as a gem before and that ended poorly so with a bit of work he disguised himself and pretended he was just another regular guy. He moved around a lot so that no one would ever really get comfortable with him to keep his identity a secret.
Though now in the company of another gem and being able to talk about things that would be completely unheard of and make no sense to humans was pleasant. "I do understand that I kinda ruined your intentions of solitude but I have enjoyed our bit of time together. If it's no too much to ask seeing as we very well might have worked together, mind if I stay around. Having someone to call a companion when in unfamiliar territory would be a very welcome change." Fulgurite stood up and turned to face Tiger. "I don't really see a downside to teaming up for a bit so what do you say?" He held hand out for Tiger hoping that after being alone for so long he would have someone to call friend.
Again, he said sorry for interrupting her day of silence. “Stop apologizing,” she responded, “I’m just giving you a hard time.” Either her brand of humor wasn’t being picked up on or her social skills could use some work. (Truthfully, it was probably a little bit of both.) She would have to work on how she spoke to Fulgurite if she wanted to both a) stop giving him the impression that she couldn’t stand him and b) stop feeling bad for giving him that impression.
He mentioned again that they may have worked together if it weren’t for his discharge. It was strange to think about, considering she hadn’t seen another gem in ages and he hadn’t seen once since he left Homeworld. How he had managed to warp into the Hub just seconds after her could only be described as cosmic irony. He stood up to face her and she tucked her chin in, looking down to face him. He extended his hand to her.
“I don’t believe in teaming up,” she said flatly. She was so used to doing everything on her own that the idea of ‘teaming up’ with someone for an extended amount of time seemed burdensome. “But I do respect you.” Reaching out her hand and gripping his, she gave it a firm shake. “We might have worked together at some point, so I don’t see why that point can’t be now. But I like my time alone and teams just don’t lend themselves to that.” Releasing her grip, her hand fell to her side. “Am I making myself clear?”
“Am I making myself clear?” He nodded and grinned up at Tiger. "Crystal." He said and laughed softly at his own terrible pun before coughing into his hand to stop chuckling. "As for the apologizing thing, just kind of a habit I've picked up to avoid confrontation, can't exactly use what I'm capable in front of human so i got use to avoiding conflict as much as possible." He shrugged and took another look at the crystal structure before turning back to Tiger. "Since you seem so inclined to be alone I'll head out. I've got as much information about this place as I can collect for the time being so you enjoy your silence" Fulgur turned to step of the platform to drop to the level below and suddenly snapped his finger.
"Oh, if we're gonna be working together we've got to have a means of contact." He stepped back from the edge and away from Tiger and held his hand over his gem, closed his eyes, curled his fingers into a claw, and slowly began to pull his hand away from his body, pulling a small glowing object out of his gem towards his hand. After a moment the glow stopped and Fulgurite grabbed the object out of the air and held it out to Tiger. It was about the size of a cigar and was comprised of single hexagon cut gem with one end tapering to a point the other being a completely flat surface. "All you gotta do is press your thumb against the flat part and it'll alert me and give me your approximate location. If you break, I'll show up even faster."
Taking the strange gem technology from him and holding it in her left hand, Tiger eyed the pen-like device carefully. This communicator was a form of technology she had never seen before. It was explained to her simply enough: it was a communicator and GPS tracker all-in-one. Either he had made this himself of Homeworld’s technology had advanced since her time there. In a show of orange light the thing slid into her gem for safekeeping. “Thank you,” she told him.
Crouching down again, she said “I’ll be seeing you, then. Take care, Fulgurite.” With that she sprung off, reaching the third level of the building. Then she hopped to the fourth. Should anyone else show up today she wanted to be far away from the warp pads and whatever conversation the new player may bring with them. One new ally was enough for today.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
