The communication hub was silent when the warp pad's tone sounded off. In a flash of bright light, the pad was illuminated and a shadow appeared upon it. Tiger's Eye, a reconnaissance spy who'd been stranded on Earth thousands of years ago, came stepping off the platform. She had last been to visit the hub about a year ago and it's systems were offline. Tiger had hoped things would be better this time after a gem had promised her they would work to get the systems back online, but she stepped closer to the structure to see the spires were not just offline, but completely busted.
"Well, that's just perfect," she muttered to herself as she inspected the rubble. Carefully walking through the mess, she could tell that a very powerful gem had found its way here and didn't want anyone communicating with Homeworld for a while. "How am I ever supposed to get off this planet if I can't even contact someone to come get me?" she asked herself. Spotting a rough boulder, she sat down on it, bending over and placing her face in her hands.
Without any technology she could not even keep track of how long she had been on Earth. She'd done a fine job of avoiding the other gems, but that task was getting harder and harder. There were so many more of them than there had been when she first arrived on this planet, and it would be difficult to remain under all of their radars at once. "What am I going to do?" she said aloud, asking no one in particular. At least for now she could be alone, among the silence and the remains of the former communication hub.
