Night had fallen on the Sea Spire, the dilapidated structure turning dark and quiet under the bright moon. The spire seemed to be empty, until a streak of light struck the warp pad and our stepped a tall red gem. She stepped off the pad and rested her hands on her hips, scanning the area around her. Looked absolutely empty. Perfect. She ran her hands through her hair, "Alright, no more business. Time for me time. Just me and myself, heh... fusion joke..." She walked further into the spire, enjoying the scenery of the now familiar building. Back before the rebellion she had never even dreamed of seeing a place like this (it simply wasn't in her mission description) but now she had all the time in the world to explore every fallen rock and pillar. And so she wandered around examining all the murals and architecture she'd seen a hundred times before.

The night had an air about it... this cool breeze that flowed threw the halls and corridors cooled any heat the structure generated during its time in the sunlight. The warp pad began to crackle with this energy before lighting up for a few moments before fading away, leaving a very tall, very slender, veryHANDSOME gem with a dashing tux! In his right hand he held a cane up under his arm before stepping off from the pad and started to slowly sway his way down an open hall. This giant smile plastered across his blue face, large perfectly round sockets that glowed with blazing bright white lights.
"Hmmmm.... where could my pebble be? Its not like him to just vanish for THIS long without getting into some kind of trouble!" Spoke the Inquisitor... he seemed to be on a hunt for a gem... he was growing rather unsettled with the disappearance of this gem... he was also MORE then ready to do his "Duty" on any gem that might know ANYTHING about where he is. The sounds of foot steps did not avoid his hearing sensors, he began walking though the halls of the Spire to try and locate this unknown entity that's near by. Ready to shift into his rift realm the moment he became too close as to try and keep the "surprise" for this gem a secret.
In all honesty the spire had grown almost... boring. Pyrope had begun to notice every crack and dent in each wall, every fallen column and wall. Of course the location was absolutely gorgeous, especially at night, but there was never anything new. If only things had been shut down a few thousand years later, maybe she'd have another structure or two to look around. She stopped her walk and sat on a set of stairs heading up to one of the taller platforms of the spire. She let out a relaxed sigh, "You know... despite it all it is nice to be away from Obsidian and all her pointless odd jobs. 'Get me scrap metal! Fetch me these compounds! Take Sugar out on a mission!' It can all be so tiring..." She leaned back onto the stairs, gazing up to the ceiling distracted by an unheard mental debate.

With a sudden "Pop!" the Grand Inquisitor vanished from sight into the rift plane, swaying his hips as he waltz closer to the location where he had heard the other figure. Turning around a corner he spotted the red gem, it was clearly a Pyrope, he had seen a few of them back on Homeworld yet... none were very large. This one might be a fusion... and he confirmed that by spotting the two gems. "You know... despite it all it is nice to be away from Obsidian and all her pointless odd jobs. 'Get me scrap metal! Fetch me these compounds! Take Sugar out on a mission!' It can all be so tiring..."
Obsidian.... this gem knew Obsidian? Better yet she WORKED for this cursed gem?! Oh dandy! Did the inquisitor hit the jackpot with this one! Not growing too close to this gem as he wanted to keep his position a mystery, "OOOOoohhhhhh my! Well aren't YOU a lovely little CR̢͢͡E̵̵Ţ̸̴ĮN̢!͟" His voice was smooth until the "Cretin" remark. It echoed around the chamber for a few moments making the true location of where his voice came from fairly hard to pin point. He awaited a response... he wanted to draw this out as a.... way to keep himself from going a bit insane with not knowing the location of his little pebble.
The relative silence was suddenly broke by a voice coming from seemingly nowhere. A smooth voice initially, but it's finally words sent a shiver up her spine. Pyrope's reaction was more out of panic than anything, rising to her feet and assuming a defensive stance. She had yet to summon her weapon, but she was wary of whoever or whatever was intruding. Turning around in circles, trying to find the owner of the voice, "Who goes there! Show yourself, unless you want to hide like a coward!" Perhaps it wasn't smart insulting an enemy she hadn't seen yet, but if they refused to show themselves initially it was assumed they were not confident of their own abilities. Of course if she was wrong...

The gem standing to her feet with this... panic about her, it was clear that his words did enough to give her a bit of a fright. "Who goes there! Show yourself, unless you want to hide like a coward!" O stopped... he didn't speak nor really even move from where he was standing in the rift, standing across from Pyrope until his voice broke threw the barriers between the two planes of existence...
"Who am I? Im nobody of course! Or.... am I the single most important thing in this GLORIOUS existence?! Maybe somewhere in between hmmmmmm?!" His duel voices sounded so smooth and calm... even echoed a bit less then before, making finding his location maybe a bit easier. "Maybe..... JUST maybe.... I am the 'who' who is on the hunt for a gem? A small blue gem with this smile that even can put my own lovely grin to shame!"
Just like that the Inquisitor slams his cane down with both hands in front of him, the wrap energy lashes around the room as his form appears faster then a blink. He had grown much closer now, only a few feet away, he stood perfectly still, his massive smile almost pulling itself from the corners of his face. He now waited... what fun it was to get back into his old "grove" as a human would so simply put it.
The voice had grown closer, that much was evident. Despite her initial panic Pyrope's skills quickly kicked in and she began to hone in on the voice's location. Keeping her panic demeanor, Pyrope began to back herself to the closest wall to avoid a sneak attack from behind. The philosophical retort wasn't really what she was hoping for. Typical though, she didn't expect whoever this gem was to reveal anything to a possible enemy.
Towards the end of his nonsense Pyrope finally caught on to the location of the voice. It seemed to be coming from behind a pillar a short distance away from her (as far as she could tell.) Summoning her weapon she took a few steps forward towards where she assumed to be the rather stealthy gem. The description of the gem struck a cord with her, but she couldn't quite place it. Besides, she had something much more pressing to deal with than whoever he was looking for.
Pyrope had only made it a couple feet before the sound of the cane struck the ground and out appeared something far more terrifying than anything she had been expecting. Taking a couple clumsy steps back, and losing her grip on her weapon (it poofing as it hit the ground), "Y-y-y... you're..." She was shaking at this point, anyone would recognize that wide, sinister smile. She had insulted THE grand inquisitor! A gem so well known for his ruthless tactics for a gem so much as looking at his hat funny. Without realizing it Pyrope managed to push herself against the wall she meant to use for defense, "I-Inquisitor..."

"Come now.... so close darling!"
Just like that the Pyrope became the hammer that had hit the nail square on the head, given such a response this made it clear that this gem was well aware of his reputation. That means things might be a bit easier then he had originally planned, "You know.... im glad you know me! It would be rather sad if someone had not ever seen this master piece I call a face! Also... now we don't have to do the whole meet and greet!" He took a few steps closer, just closing the gap a bit more.
"Because... since you know me, I don't really have to care about you! I KNOW you work for that.... pleb Obsidian, who seems to think she isn't on my.... well, as a human would put it.. S̴͢H͘Í̴T̕͞ L̴̡IS̴̶T!̴͘" His voice crackled about again. He also had slammed his cane down, not as hard as the first time but hard enough to still make an echo. "Now, given the fact that my wonderful self is most likely the highest ranking gem on this floating rock, one would think... lets not make him mad! Yet.... the gem you WORK for, has done this very act!"
If Pyrope had not already moved away or tried to swing at him, getting close enough, he would reach out a single gloved hand to grab her by the chin, "Tell. Me. It. All." seemed.... simple enough.
Pyrope had completely frozen up as Opalite pressed towards her. At no point had she thought he of all gems would run into her, especially after the rebellion. But perhaps that was just it, maybe it had drawn him to this planet. A bittersweet thought, as that would mean Homeworld was aware of the situation, but also... there was him. His unerring smile and white eyes were truly as intimidating as she heard, and his constant cheery tone did not help matters.
And then of course he mentioned Obsidian... Somehow she knew that gem would get her into trouble. She couldn't help but flinch as Opalite's voice crackled, although he didn't seem visually angry it was clearly there. And it was just her luck that Obsidian (and by extension her) was the target of one of Homeworld's most dangerous gem's anger. She didn't move as Opalite grabbed her chin, not like she would be able to simply run. Perhaps it was just stories scaring her, but if any of it were to be believed there wouldn't be a easy way out.
Pyrope tried her best to keep her eyes on Opalite's, "I... I don't know what you mean! Obsidian is a royal scientist, what could she have d-done to cross you?!" She desperately wanted to say something, anything, to get out of this situation but her mind was still reeling from his reveal and couldn't connect the dots.

The laughing had turned fairly.... blurry, the fact that this gem thought that SHE could ask HIM the questions right now?! How could he NOT find that irritatingly laughable?! His hand slowly slid down around her throat, even without having the need to breath it was still a good point to grab a gem. Pulling her up the wall, stretching his arm up above him to take her a bit off the floor. "I never said.... one moment!" His other hand lifted from his cane leaving it standing next to him by itself.
Snapping his fingers really just for effect, and with a pop they both shifted into this hazy blue covered realm. "Better! Now where was I? .... Oh right! I never said you get to ask me ANYTHING! This Obsidian is nothing but a fool who hungers for power. Given what has happen within my time on this rock, I know that this dumb ROCK had targeted something.... of mine.." He lost a bit of fury for a moment, "And I WANT. IT. BACK! So your going to tell me.... where this hereticalTRAITOR, is holding up. If I like what you say Ill only crack you just a bit deary!"
The fire had returned, he also drops Pyrope, he didn't force her in any direction and just lets go. Not taking a step back though, he waits.... his blazing eyes not leaving her for a second.
That laugh... it sounded as if the devil itself was in her ear. Pyrope couldn't help but struggle when he picked her up by her neck, despite it being a futile attempt. She looked down at his sinister grin as they transferred to a place she had hoped never to see. The blue tint on everything... she was learning many of the stories must have been true. She thought they had all just been over exaggerated tales but here she was in whatever plane of existence this gem inhabited. As far as she had ever heard no gem had ever come out of this place alive...
She hit the ground, landing on her knees, though she kept her head down she performed a homeworld salute as fast as she could. "O-of course Grand Inquisitor, I am in no place to question you! I..." It struck her she didn't know where Obsidian was actually based. But she had to say something... "I d-don't know where she is actually uh... located. She always contacts me through another agent or through a drone." She flinched, expecting a strike, but continued on as fast as she could, "B-but I do know how to draw her out!" Was she really going to do this, betray her current mission handler? She looked up briefly at the hate filled eyes of Opalite... Yes. Yes she was.
Maintaining her salute and bowed position, "I have an emergency communicator Obsidian built, it allows me to contact her if the need ever arises. W-whatever you want to do with it, it's yours!" Despite her better judgement Pyrope couldn't help but look back up, her eyes beginning to water, "J-just please... don't crack me..."
Post by Grand Inquisitor, Mr. O on Aug 2, 2016 6:10:39 GMT
Unmoving he awaited... he awaited the single thing he wanted to hear, the location of this dull stone. "I d-don't know where she is actually uh... located. She...-" his face twitched... visibly. Both hands gripped around his cane a bit tighter, the inquisitor didn't yet speak and was hoping this soon-to-be-shard could redeem herself. "I have an emergency communicator Obsidian built, it-" that was all he had to hear! His grip grew lax a bit as this was maybe the beginning of an interesting plan.
He turned and took a few steps away... still quite close but made some space. "One... what makes you think im not going to crack you after such a stu...." he stopped for a moment... maybe it was the rift or his own mind playing tricks on him but out of the black he almost couldn't help but see Agate in his head... him telling the lil pebble about how he found him... Agate wouldnt like him shattering the Pyrope... water would start to fall from his eyes and that makes O feel...... bad?
"Hmmmm....... FINE! You are gonna have to thank both me and my pebble after this is done..... follow me hunny." Just like that, he turned and walked next to Pyrope holding out his hand while not looking at her, once (if) she took his hand the two of them would appear in the normal world once more. "We have some things to do!" was all he said before starting to make their way to the warp pad... still holding her hand oddly? Its like in his head.... he just kind of wanted to hold someones hand.
Pyrope's head bowed as he continued on, seemingly intent to crack her...? She looked up to see him hesitate? It didn't seem possible but the unrelenting Grand Inquisitor seemed to be thinking about sparing her. Before she could utter anything to win him over he spoke back up and she ducked her head back down. He really was sparing her, she had a chance to prove herself! She took his hand graciously, "Of course my Inquisitor! I will be of service as best I can!" She stood up and followed Opalite, still holding his hand. It struck her as odd that he held on to her but she was in no position to question it. And besides, there was something off. He squeezed her hand as if for... support? Whatever the case she pushed the thought out of her head and paid attention to whatever task was at hand. Despite his mercy, she was still with a very dangerous gem.

As they reached the pad O had turned to look at Pyrope to notice.... he was still gripping her hand. Quickly ripping his hand away and cupping it in his others as if something had just gotten all over his hand, "....You don't talk about that." He mumbled before turning away from the red gem, "About that serving me bit, maybe I was a bit hasty with assuming your useless. The fact you sounded so unhappy working for that... thing, makes me think you cant be THAT stupid!" It was an odd one but this was one of his many ways of paying one a complement.
"I must know.... surely she has spoken of me, yes?! Come now darling, tell me what she says about me.... I just can't ~WAIT~ to hear her encrusted ideas she has about me." He spoke with this glee in his voice, one would think its a bad idea to say any kind of insult to Grand Inquisitor Opalites face... this might be the one exception.
She could't help but flinch as Opalite pulled his hand away, "O-of course Inquisitor! Not a word!" She continued on behind him, her face lightning up a bit at his backhanded compliment. It wasn't so much for the compliment itself, but for the fact it meant he had to intentions, at least at the moment, to shatter her. The subject of him was however an awkward one, "Well... Roy- er... Scientist Obsidian spoke of you a couple times, but I didn't assume you were.... here." Of course there was still the hint in her voice that she was uncomfortable with his presence, but there was not exactly a easy way around this situation.
There was a pause as she thought back, "She never spoke much to me directly, but she has a habit of speaking out loud. Especially on rants..." That was putting it lightly, Obsidian was by far one of the more heated gems she had met. "To be honest, my Inquisitor, she seems rather..." she rolled her hand trying to find the word, "obsessed with yourself sir. I believe she has the need to 'one up you', over some sort of past interaction I believe. Or perhaps she just knows of you as many others do and wishes to prove something. She does see herself as a rather... important figure, perhaps more than yourself." There was another pause before Pyrope quickly realized what she had just implied, "B-But of course I had never thought it was an active plan! And I would NEVER dream of assisting such a plan, Grand Inquisitor!" She was quick to bow her head and salute again, careful not to step anywhere in the proverbial minefield of the situation.
