"Nah, don't worry... I told Morion this war doesn't concern me... and he didn't shatter me yet so... I think I'll be fine. I don't plan on becoming rebel anytime soon, so that should be ok too... so you don't really need to worry about me. I survived so far... and I don't plan on stopping surviving anytime soon. "
He said. His voice was telling the he actually believed that. After all, he was survivor, even Morion said so.
"So don't worry, you won't loose friend that soon... I will be around for a loooong time. That's a promise."
He said smiling. He finally made a friend and that alone was reason to survive everything.
"But I think I should probably go... I'm not sure if Morion is waiting for me... but I wouldn't want him getting worried..."
"Alright..." Melody smiled happily "I'll be here for you, no matter what. As long as you survive, I'll be surviving the best I can" She hops up and gives Chip one more hug before sighing "Fair enough. Tell Morion that I appreciate the CDs and thank you for the gift. Also, Chip, if you ever want to come visit me, just check the Spire first. This is usually where I am a good amount of the time whether it's repairing the place or just using it to work on music. If not, I tend to be in Empire City. Morion'll keep a close eye around the area for me, most likely." She shrugged "I'll be around either way, if you need me"
The Smoky Quartz wasn't in the great hall where the (stolen) Warp Pad was in the Tower With two guards The human 'quartzes' saluted
"Welcome back lil' Master" "Yo' Chip"
They greeted the returned Fire Opal
"The Boss is upstairs" "Level 43... with the eggheads."
But aside from that, the M Tower was peaceful The black heart of the criminal empire, the center of the Smoky Quartz (and the young Fire Opal's too, after all, he was the lieutenant of Morion, and the heir of his empire^^) web of influence Jamaicans, Mexicans, Columbians... and several other gentlemens Even... lawyers One might say, you can't find another wretched hive of scum and villainy like that^^ But several Gems lived here too... but Chip managed to avoid them so far (well asadie Spider) and they respected this

Chip returned back, but Morion wasn't there... only some human guards who told him, where he could find Morion.
He told him, once again not even bothering by learning what was the name of that human. He got in an elevator and went upwards. Morion should know, that he finished his mission. In a way, he had to admire Morion, who built a real empire here on this planet. Very progressive of him... too bad that his sad devotion to the ancient Gem ways has not helped him conjure up a way to contact the Diamonds, or given him clairvoyance enough to find the way of this planet. He finally stopped at level 43... he was a little curious what kind of potentially dangerous stuff is he doing here...
"Its... eh... never mind. Sebastian is not that bad..." "Aye... could be worse. He at least looks human!"
The Fire Opal could hear them as he walked away The elevator played the nice little elevator music, it was traditional^^ The doors opened Two guards turned to Chip, aiming their weapons, but quickly stood down and saluted
The corridor was silent, 5-5 doors on both sides, but all required ID cards to open... except the door at the back That was guarded two, but the guards let Chip in It was a laboratory, computers, humans young and old in coats. A big reinforced glass window at the back, and behind that a human corpse The corpse was clawing the window's glass with rotten fingers, sometimes hit it with his fist The Smoky Quartz watched it with an eldery woman, a professor
"I wouldn't call that a progress my Peridot..." "I think the problem is Senor M the shard you gave me to work with... it was from a corrupted Gem! Naturally the shard-drone is... well..." "Yes, I see... Specimen 27 a bit violent..." "Anyhow, I made progress with Project: Lazarus as you requested my lord..." "As I said... I wouldn't call that thing a progress... but it is just a mater of perspective I guess" "Give me a Crystal Gem to shatter and work with my Lord and I give you an army of... - she noticed Chip - ahh.. the young chipped Fire Opal! Hello little boy..."
The old hag smiled to Chip, in skinny fingers was a pen, quickly wrote down something on her clip board
"Respect your superiors, like Chip my Peridot...!" "Sorry My Lord... little Master..."
The hag nodded a little to Chip, bowed her head and walked away to a computer station.
"Melody was in a good mood Chip?"
The smoky Quartz smiled, turned away from the window, rested on his cane; behind him two guards entered and mercilessly gunned down Specimen 27...

Chip exited the elevator on the right floor. He never were here before... this building was so huge... with all sorts of secrets he didn't know about. He had a bad feeling about this floor for some reason... he just smiled kindly at the guards and entered the... laboratory?
He could saw what was inside... it was some kind laboratory... which was apparently making... zombies? He just blankly stared at the zombie, ignoring everyone in the room. It was haunting... the very definition of terrifying. He was brought back to reality by voice of the old scientist.
"Oh... I... hello..."
He stammered still looking at the zombie. Suddenly two guys went in and riddled the zombie with bullets. Chip was quite shocked by this. It was little too much for him. He just gasped and run out of the room, slamming the door behind him. He quickly ran into the elevator, sat down in the corner, trying to calm down a little. He was extremely agitated and why he was like this it was quite difficult to control his flames... he had to concentrate...
The smoky quartz watched the young Fire Opal Well, that went surprisingly well... tho'it wasn't his plan Just blind fate But somtimes the univers gives you a freebie^^ He calmly walked out, followed the chipped Gem... with a nod, he dissmissed the guards
Moiron asked gently The doors opened
"Are you okay?"
The Assassin stepped in, the doors closed behind him He rested on his cane, watching the young Fire Opal with his silver eyes
"Your gasp... and face betrayed you. Heh... the Face is the first traitor.... I have seen... the fear in your eyes. You were... you are horrified, am I right my dear Apprentice? From what you have seen in the laboratory? Or from me? Both? Don't worry Chip... I am used to it. But belive me kid, I never intended to scare you... or terrify you. I supose, you want answers..."
The Smoky Quartz nodded "Ask... and I will answer you. No tircks. No riddles. No lessons... or anything like that. Just answers. For all your questions. If you are brave enough to question... and thus prepared for the answers."

It was quite apparent, that Chip was concentrating his hardest. He wasn't paying any attention to Morion, simply because if he would, he would probably burn the entire building to ashes. He was slowly getting it under control... after few minutes he was positive he has it under control...
"No, I am not ok... I just saw you are creating terribly rotten zombies... and then shoot them to oblivion! Don't you watch TV? Creating zombies... what could possibly go wrong there... what else do you have I know nothing about... perhaps you should try Skynet next... that would solve everything."
This was just a bad idea however he looked at it.
"Are you killing people and shattering gems just for experiments?!"
"Porject: Lazarus is a bit... delicate. I admit. Anyhow, that thing was just a Shard-drone. Nothing else. No zombie-serum, or anything like that. You watch too much television! The shard used the corpse as a vessel... tho' you could call it a "Zombie". And instead of experiments on the corpse-vessel, I ordered its destruction and the shard is now in a buble.
Morion explained calmy
"There are actually several projects Chip... you never bothered to ask about them, tho' I told you we have several. No mater, I can tell you about them... The Archangel Network, the Meta-human Project. The Omega Directive. Just to name a few... when you calmed down. And you feel yourself ready."
Then his laugh filled the elevator
"Killing people and shattering Gems just for experiments? No. They are organics kid, you only have to wait and they die sooner or later. Not to mention the territory disputes, the raids, and so on... humans are dangerous and natural killers. And most of the time, they are figthing with each other... And our humans are criminals. The Gems? That is a bit harder question. I usually tries to avoid to crack or shatter a Gem, my goal is to bubble them! But sometimes there is no other way... but only Rebels and Monsters!
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Oct 17, 2016 12:21:59 GMT
"And that's any better?! You were the one who told me about those drones... how they went berserk... so you are mixing dead humans and shattered gems into potentially very dangerous weapon... and not only for the enemy, but for us too... how is that a good idea? You are like some kind of necromancer... it's... wrong!"
He told him his opinion very vocally.
"Yeah, I'm sorry... next time I will live in someone's home I will ask right away if he is a necromancer! I knew I forgot something important... when I moved here..."
He said mockingly. Was that really a question he shoud have asked? Right between "where is bathroom" and "How do I get to my room" he will ask "Oh, by the way, aren't you mixing dead humans with dead gems" the next time...
"And don't tell me there is no other way... you bubbled even the creature that was killing me! When you had time then to bubble it, I'm pretty sure you could do it every time... I don't want you to shatter anyone, it's wrong too!"
He felt very strongly about this. "And by the way "the Omega Directive" is totally stolen from Star trek..."
"Funny you say that, you know Humans know my Gem, the Smoky Quartz variant, the Morion... Since ancient times, morion has been considered a stone of fortunetellers, sorcerers and necromancers, those who predict the future through talking to the spirits of the dead. Yet, it is dangerous to use the stone without some training. It will fool around with the uninitiated by distorting the predictions of the future and the conception of the physical world. Moreover, the mineral casts illusions and evokes fruitless dreams and fantasies..."
The Smoky Quartz shook his head
"I am not a necromancer... hmm... tho' zombie Gesm... hmm... okay okay, just kidding! Sometimes there is no other way Chip.. But belive me, I try not to shatter anyone! But when it happens, I am not above to use the shards, I admit... I promise I try harder, not to shatter anyone... but not at the cost of my or my wards safety!

Chip just rolled his eye. He got unnecessarily long lecture about human myths about Smoky Quartz, it was completely boring. He didn't even pretend like he is being interested in any of that. "Well, I have no idea who are your wards, but I don't want you to get yourself killed... but don't shatter anyone if you don't have to. You can always bubble them... perhaps when the Diamonds come, they will heal the corruption... so even corrupted gems could be saved..."
He said. People were dying... of old age... of injuries... illnesses... Gems didn't. Gems could live for hundreds or thousands of years, possibly forever, unless shattered. He wanted to say something else, when Morion asked his question...
"You should really watch TV more instead of creating zombies... what's "the Omega directive" then?"
"You, for example... it is my honorable duty to protect you Chip!"
The Smoky Quartz nodded
"Oh I do watch TV! I have seen a spectacular, magnificent documentary, that takes place in the far future, more than ten thousand years from now, about an impressive sorcerer, gifted parrot wrangler, and a crafty politician, who is living in the danger being banished or even executed if the curent ruler is out of the picture, and his pscyho daughter grabs the throne, after findig a lover, the would be pupet-king! It was called Aladdin. It is fascinating, how the Humans misunderstood the whole thing! The hero was Jafar!”
The Smoky Quartz mused
”Now, everybody says, Jafar is the evil, power-hungry royal vizier who spends his time trying to kill Aladdin so he can get his magical lamp, which Jafar plans to use to take over the kingdom of Agrabah. His other favorite pastime is manipulating the good-natured Sultan into doing his bidding. Surely, Agrabah would turn into a shithole of human misery if this man wound up in charge, right? „
He shook his head
”Wrong! We already know what Agrabah would be like under Jafar, and it's ... pretty goddamn utopic, actually. When the movie starts, Jafar is already secretly running the city: He controls the Sultan through hypnosis, and the guards patrolling the streets specifically mention that they work for him. The result? Agrabah is virtually crime-free, - well if not for Aladdin and his cleptomanic monkey, clearly trained to steal -, has a thriving economy, providing several kinds of fruits, fresh fish, and vegetables... and the city is in the middle of the desert! Yet... it is populated by happy, non-oppressed people. Jafar has turned it into the cleanest, most peaceful, most successful post-apocalyptic civilizations ever portrayed! And yet, Jafar is branded the bad guy when he understandably tries to save his own life and stop the three greatest threats to Agrabah's freedom and security: first, the Sultan, a bumbling idiot dictator who changes laws on a whim, and playing with toys insted of ruling his damn city! Second, Aladdin, a dangerous thief/conman who is easily able to manipulate the Sultan, and third, Jasmine, the spoiled, insubordinate princess so fed up with being rich that she runs away from home. She's so out of touch with reality, it's literally criminal! But that is understandable, her father never explained to her, stealing is bad, and the merchants have all the right to chop down the thief’s hand... and she is the next in line to rule! Jafar's hypnotic staff and quest for the lamp are merely a contingency to ensure his benevolent reign. Even his song was the best. Long may he rule!
He leaned back
”It is sad it ended for him that badly... really, a shame."
Morion smirked with a sigh
"The Omega Directive? Well, it is the Last order, you know, Omega, last. If there are no Homeworld Loyals remain on Earth, to erridicate the Crytsal Gems, there are theoretical plans to destroy the Planet. Or the whole solar system if necessary! But really, only just theories. It is damn hard with these primitve technology!

Chip didn't saw Aladdin, but he more or less knew, what it was about... and he was pretty sure that Morion saw what he wanted. And he gave a another long lecture about it.
"Ok, please, stop this... I can't hold attention for so long... another lecture this long and I will poof just to avoid it... seriously... I can't listen for so long, my head hurts... which is quite an achievement given that it is just a projection... "
He admitted. Morion just loved long speeches, he would be a great politician.
"Well isn't it quite an Overkill? Destroying the whole planet? Killing billions? Plus it's totally pointless since I will live forever. I have absolutely no intention of dying. Not ever... not even after that. And... uhm... what is the... network thing? Do you have some other doomsday weapons I should know of? Space lasers? Sun erasers? Death´rays?"
He asked. He didn't felt quite save with zombies and planet vaporising bombs around.
spinel666: how are you guys?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
