She gave him a weirdlook as he transformed into the creature, but smiled afterward in a friendly sort of way. She nodded as she listened to his plan of retrieving the artifact. Flurry gave Sapphire an exaggerated thumbs-up. She smirked confidently.
"You can count on me! I won't mess with the monster, but I`ll grab that relic! Just make sure that the monster doesn't get to me! " She said, pumping her fists, ready to summon her cloud. "Just...you be safe okay? Don't get too careless... " She hopped onto his back as her expression changed. She looked more determined and serious than she had all day, she looked at the Pylon. "Alright, fly me up there and when we're at the right height I`ll make my cloud! "
"Don't worry, I have no intention of getting shattered this easy..."
He said and grabbed White Spinel in his claws, gently, without injuring her. They were gaining altitude quite slowly, because Sapphire wasn't exactly the best flier. But slowly and surely the Pylon was getting closer and closer. Sapphire had no idea what was it there for, but right now it was just a nest for a big creature...
Right before them, there was a small door inside... there were some catwalks around the pylon itself... it was looking actually quite impracticle, but also quite impressive, with big Pink Diamond symbol above the entrance. There was some kind of weak electric aura around the pylon... not strong enough to hurt anyone, but it could be felt quite easily...
"The Pylon... " Flurry mumbled as they approached it. She watched with wide eyes as they observed the massive structure. "The monster is in there... " Flurry dropped from Sapphire's talons onto her cloud and floated toward the entrance. Sitting crossed-legged on her cloud she looked up at the structure. The electrical aura was bothering her, she scrunched her face up, shivering in discomfort. Suddenly, her eyes widened.
"Sapphire, what if it's an electric monster? That might explain why it feels all weird around here? " She said waving her arms, not wanting them to stay still and be bothered by the aura. "Mmmmh... let's try to be quick, this place is really bothering me... " She waited for Sapphire to arrive as she observed the structure more carefully. My first big monster fighting mission... not gonna mess this up... She thought Then they`ll have to take me on more missions.
He asked. Sure, it was nothing compared to the glorious brilliance of Homeworld, but it was quite impressive nonetheless. The only thing Sapphire regretted was, that he might very well never see Homeworld again... or perhaps only as a prisoner before he is shattered... given what he SAW that day it might as well happen one day...
"Might as well be... I know of no one who fought the beast and survive... so be careful. "
He said and landed on the platform before the entrance. Then he transformed back to his classic form.
"It must be somewhere inside... I will try to lure it outside... I will fight it here, on those catwalks... you will enter the pylon once I get it's attention. You should know the relic once you see it. It should be quite... prominent."
Flurry tried to look determined as she listened to Sapphire's plan. He went into detail of how dangerous the monster was, this scared her at first. Well of course no one who's fought it has lived, that's why it's still here... She thought, trying to use reason to stay calm. We're gonna be just fine in here... She kept getting distracted by the Pylon around her, who could blame her? The Architecture was genius. She then raised an eyebrow.
"Uhmmmm that's a good plan but what does prominent mean? Does that mean covered in spikes? I hope not... " Flurry said thinking about the spike-covered relic. "Does that mean it's really big? my cloud can't carry heavy things! " Flurry said, distressed a bit.
"Don't worry, the device should be hand held... so not big nor heavy... and to my knowledge it is not covered with spikes... I am not sure how it looks... I never saw it before, but once you see it you should know it... it might contain some kind of crystals too... "
He said. The last part might not be true, but he had suspicion it was. With that he took a deep breath, which was quite uncharacteristic for him.
"Please, hide untill I draw it out... then go inside. Once you have it come out as fast as you could."
He said and summoned his shield. The air around him got noticably colder as he stood in the door.
"HEY! YOU CORRUPTED MONSTER. I AM HERE TO... I DON'T KNOW... YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND A WORD I'M SAYING ANYWAY, IT'S JUST IMPORTANT TO MAKE NOISE SO I CAN GET YOUR ATTENTION."
He yelled with suprisingly strong voice. With the last words the pylon shook a little - something big was coming out. Yes, it was big... it had 4 legs and also wings... in retrospect it was quite obvious, that monster living in the pylon would fly.
Sapphire stood there... it was bigger then he thought. But he had mission to do. Creature lunged forward, attacked with it's mouth, but Sapphire blocked it with his shield. With that he begin to run away, the monster was following...
Flurry froze and stared at the monster for a second, but came to her senses soon enough. She quickly sped off on her cloud, down a tile hallway. As she flew by, she observed the strange tiles around her. She almost started daydreaming since the hallway was so long, but then a spear flew past hear head. Looking at the walls she noticed that they were lines with holes. He eyes widened as she noticed how many spears would fire at her. She squeezed her eyes shut and flew onward at full speed.
It seemed for a second that the spears weren't firing, but near the end of the hallway she began to feel the noises of them darting through the air. A spear stabbed her cloud, causing it to disappear. She screamed as she braced for the impact of the next spear, but it never came. She opened her eyes and looked around her, she had reached the ending of the hallway. She giggled in relief and resummoned her cloud. Floating for while longer she reached a glass wall. She pressed her hands against it, but no luck.
She realized that the glass wall was very strong and only a very strong force could break it. She harnessed all of her energy and punched the center of the wall with all of her might. Not even a crack. She started to get worried, imagining Sapphire alone against the monster. For a few seconds she was idle, in horror imagining her friend being shattered by the monster because she was taking too long. She finally forced herself to calm down and looked through her bag for something that could help. She had nothing but a snowglobe and a flute.
She stepped away from the wall and lifted the flute to her lips. She blew as hard as she could into the wind instrument, squeezing her eyes closed. The sound was so high-pitched that after a few seconds the wall cracked. She flew at the wall as fast as she could and stood on it. Before she hit the wall and jumped through it, shattering it. Her body stung from lying on the glass shards, but she ignored it, she was there, in the room where the artifact was kept.
She saw a rectangular object, it had many crystals all over it, suggesting that it was in fact the artifact she was looking for. The fact that it was floating also gave that away. She snatched it and shoved it in her bag. She quickly flew back toward her cohort at full speed on her cloud.
Sapphire wasn't a warrior... and it was painfully obvious. He was skilled enough with his shield to block all the attacks so far, but it was draining him quickly. He was getting slower and more tired. Fortunately, the monster was getting slower too, since Sapphire was slowly frozing all the wetness that clang to the monster... but he couldn't really hold his own for much longer. But he was going to give Spinel all the time she needed to find that thing...
The monster raised his arms, Sapphire used his dash to move under it, behind it and hit it with it's shield. It was pointless, but the monster was big one and it took it some time to turn around. Sapphire used the time to gain some energy... the monster reacted by... breathing fire?! Chip quickly enlarged his shield to cover his entire body... but the fire was pushing him backwards...
"I've got you Sapphire!" Came Flurry's voice from behind him. She flew by on her cloud and snatched him from around the waist, flying as quickly as she could from the monster's clutches. "I've got the artifact! Let's go!" She flew out of the Pylon, over the air. Although she couldn't land, she needed to distance them from the monster. She knew that it had wings, but she was out of options.
"Alright, you've gotta turn into the bird! Before the monster comes after us!" She kept glancing back to the Pylon to make sure that the monster wasn't advancing. She could definitely hear it, they didn't have much time. "I hope you can, after fighting that monster, well just do your best!"
Sapphire was quite sure, that he won't be able to keep this up much longer. The monster was much stronger then he was... but fortunately for him, his companion finished her mission and grabbed him and dragged him away. Fortunately for them, the monster was quite stupid. It was breathing fire for few more seconds, before it found out, that his opoonent were gone. "Great job, there was no doubt in my mind, that you will succeed. And don't worry, I will get us to safety..."
He was tired, but he had some strenght left. He quickly transformed into the flying beast once again. Grabbed Spinel in his claws and started falling. The monster was chasing them... and was quite quick. "This might be unpleasant... I do appologize in advance..."
He said right before he flew into branches. They got whipped by smaller ones, he tried to avoid the larger ones. Right before them was the warp pad. Sapphire landed directly on it. Judging from the breaking branches the monster was still on their tail.
Flurry jumped up and down on the warp pad, struggling to warp. After a few moments the monster appeared, about two meters from them. At this moment, they warped, with only seconds to spare. Upon arrival Flurry slumped against a wall and slid down it, exhausted. She panted heavily and stayed silent for a long while, about five minutes. Finally, she turned to Sapphire and let out a sigh of relief.
"We did it Sapphire, we got the relic! " Flurry said, taking the relic from her bag and looking at it. She grinned from ear to ear "Oh! When my team finds out about this... I can't believe that this actually happened! Thank you Sapphire! " She handed him the relic. She looked at the floor.
"This was really great... you think can go on a mission another time? " She asked hesitantly.
Sapphire was ready to summon his shield once more to protect both of them, but Spinel fortunately warped them back in the nick of time. They appeared back. Sapphire was exhausted but held himself still high. Even among friends wasn't willing to show weakness.
"Yes, you are indeed correct. We got the relic. You've done well."
He smiled, though the smile cost him a lot of energy. He was that tired. He took the relic and observed it.
"When I'll give this relic to other Crystal gems I will inform them, that you were the one who acquired it. I predict they will be most impressed. After I was going to recommend at least 3 warrior gems to get it. And it was my pleasure to have your company and help. I am sure if the opportunity rises I will gladly go to other mission with you."
Flurry smiled and nodded, satisfied with the result of the mission.
"Oh and... can you make sure to mention that I helped, I want people to know that I can be a real crystal gem too! " She said. "You don't really have to tell them that though, you did most of the work... " She said rubbing the back of her head. She waved, waiting for him to leave. Suddenly, her eyes widened and she ran to him.
"One last thing before you go! " She pulled out a piece of paper and started scribbling onto it. After a short while she presented him with the small piece of paper. It had a strange code written on it. "That's my phone number, so if you want to talk you can call me! "
"Yes, I already said, that I will inform others about your invaluable help in this matter. And you did the key part. All I did was "not die" while you had to find this particular object, recover it and then you saved me from the monster. You did plenty, don't underestimate yourself. I think I require some rest... I was not made to be fighting this much."
He said, putting the blade he borrowed (and never used) back. Before he could leave, she caught up to him.
"Well I do not posses human communication device and it wouldn't be prudent to have one, since human technology is considered primitive about "loyal" gems. And I mostly interact with them... but I suppose I could use the stationary variant, that is usually found in every human settlement. "
He added. He once aquired this communication device, but it was only to have reason to talk to this one mechanic gem...

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
