The Sea Spire... a wonderful location that proved how great the Gem civilization truly was. Even the humans would admire it, though Opalite figured it failed in comparison to his lovely self. He found it hard not to admit how dashing of a location it is... well.. was, Mr. O had traveled to this location to try and... understand something. Though he would NEVER admit it... he was having an issue stepping threw the dimension rift like he has always done. He found himself having to really collect his energy just to slip over from one plane of reality to the next, a feat that should not even require his great being to think about in order to do!
Taking a closer look at the spire it seems Mr. O had found it way to an entrance leading deeper into the Spire, where he could either make his way up... or down the spire. O sighs to himself as he stood on the path leading to the stair ways... he was flabbergasted! "Hmmm... what to DO! This is madding! Just madding!" He exclaims loudly as he stomped his right foot down along with his cane at the same time, making a loud banging sound that echoed threw the Sea Spires halls. "Something here is... what is this... it can't be..." mumbled the tall gentlemen gem... he had been to this location before when he had wondered about a few gem sited locations.
He began pacing back and forth, as theories of what could be causing this "oddity" as he thinks of it.
"...even if the place only has scraps with it could be worth a look as a potentially base of operations. We haven't really established much but this could be a start." Fulgur finished saying as the beam of light surrounding the warp pad dissipated delivering Carbide and himself outside the gem spire protruding from the ocean. "That and I've never been here before, so it'll be interesting to at least." Fulgur stepped off the warp pad and started walking toward the structure scanning the building quickly as he approached. "Seems mostly sound, despite the gravity well it's built on." He said as he stopped about a foot away from the cliff edge that separated the spire from the small segment of ground the warp pad was located on.
Fulgur quickly flipped through a few of his lenses as he cautiously leaned over the edge to try and see down without getting sucked in. Leaning back and looking over the tower again a concerned look quickly took over his face. Furrowing his brow and squinting his eyes he flipped through several more lenses as he looked over the tower repeatedly. "Well that's concerning..." He muttered more to himself than anything else. "There's something in there, I don't know what it is and I don't know where is what concerns me. Something giving off a frequency this strong should have some kind of detectable source, but I"m picking up nothing. If we're gonna do this, then we need to proceed with caution."

Carbide steps off the warp pad, following after Fulgur, a relaxed display of body language about the whole affair, arms crossed behind her head as she looks about, taking in the tower from top to bottom, giving a soft impressed whistle, as Fulgur busied himself with his scans. Her focus zeroes in a bit more when she notices the perplexed and concerned look on his face as he remarks "There's something in there....."
She nods in agreement, as she leans out over the precipice of the gravity well, feeling the intense tug, weigh down on her shoulders, she endures it to get a slightly closer look at the structure, the sudden increase of gravometric force makes even her vision spheres feel heavy in their sockets, and her hair is pulled completely straight.
Carbide lifts her now leaden bangs , gauging the distance and the condition of the perspective landing platform between two pillars on the far side before pulling back, with some effort, and turning to face her bionic companion.. "Well, I guess we won't find out by just sitting here now will we? Do we want to come up with some ingenious graceful way to cross that 20 foot gravity chasm, or should we just brute through it?" A confident snarky grin spreading over her face as she gives him a wink.

Pacing back and forth almost craving a path in the ground he had been moving at such as pace, "How can the GREAT and MAJESTIC Mr. O.... NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!" He lashes towards the wall with his cane, creating an energy wave that cuts deep into the wall before him. Sighing and taking a moment to adjust his hat as he looks towards the stair way leading up the Spire.
"Hm... lets go with up! Yes!" He speaks to himself still holding the grin across his face, giving his cane a swing and starting to use it as he walked into the hallway and moved up the stairway. While advancing up the Spire... what could be more fitting then a song?!
"Gather up all of the gems, It’s time to ship out 'round the bend, Space-wind blows, To where? Who knows?! The waves will be our guide!" His lovely duel voice rang out in harmony threw-out the spire, "O’er across the star’s up high, Rays of sunshine far and wide. Birds they sing, Of cheerful things... In circles passing by." O had made his way up the tower getting to the point where he knew of a warp pad near by... though he wanted to sing a few more lines as he enjoyed the sound of his own voice and the catchy-ness of his own song.
"Bid farewell to our dear home, Say so long to the port, Sing a song, It won’t be long, Before we’re casting off! Cross the stars and blackened sky's, A cosmic wind puts us at ease... Day and night, To our delight! The voyage never ends!" It really was a happy little tune... he had sang it for a long time... so long he had forgotten if it was his own or something he had heard before and just stuck with him.
It failed to matter as he reached the point in the Spire where the walls were crashed open and if anyone was standing on the other side across from the Spire they would see him slowly waltzing threw the Spire's hall.
"...or should we just brute through it?" Fulgur watched as Carbide peaked over the edge with a brief moment of worry before she pulled back and turned to him. "Well the downward force is rather formidable and it would take a rather well design structurally sound bridge to be able to withstand the gravity well and use going across it." He said pacing while speaking and crossing his arms. "But there is one thing I am a fan of when it comes to logical though processes." He said as he started to walk away from the spire and getting a good distance away before pivoting one hundred and eighty degree and running full speed at the spire. "Occam's razor, the simplest answer is usually the correct one." He yelled as he fired off the hydraulics in his legs to shoot him over the canyon and into the spire in almost the blink of an eye.
Fulgur lands rather hard as the pull of the well slightly threw off his trajectory despite how quickly he crossed the gap. He spend a minute to briefly collect himself before returning to the opening he just jumped though and was about to call out to Carbide but heard something. He stifled his words and turned toward where he could swear something was making noise. After a moment he realized two things, that whatever he was hearing, sounded like music, and the energy he felt was coming with it. He turned back to Carbide and held out a hand over the gap and grabbed tightly to the one of the near by pillars. "Quickly, somethings coming and I don't have a good feeling about dealing with it alone."

Carbide had backed up a dozen or so paces, needing a bit of a running start to punch through the gravity well, unlike her servo assisted companion. She had just crouched down to dash, when some movement catches her eye, a figure.. tall..very tall, pale complexion and a top hat was dancing up the staircase, visible through a hole in the outer walls. "Ohhhh %#&$ all kinds of duck.." She recognized the figure of her old mission handler, from her days with home world, Opalite, or Mr. O, or even The White Ringmaster, as she recalled him being called from time to time.
She hadn't seen him since she quite literally burst out of the water and landed beside him and a group of other gems, quite by accident, who had woken her up from a nap underneath the dock, and had wasted little time with trivialities such as determining the identities of the noisy boardwalk revelers before she had burst up onto the planks, prepared to begin tearing strips..Their reunification had gone off without violence, however their history with each other was long and complicated.. "What is HE doing here??" , she thinks to herself, her body crouching down and taking off in a dash towards the gap, as she reaches the edge, she boosts herself into a jump that spans the chasm, the tug of the gravity making her feel almost dizzy.
She lands hard on the other edge, where Fulgur did, however the force of another gem landing on the fatigued stonework caused it to crumble, her hand grabbing the broken ledge as she slips, kicking off against the wall with her feet and launching her body up in a half vertical cartwheel, reaching the other side in more or less one piece.
"I think that something you felt coming, is a someone, I saw a gem I recognized walking up the spire staircase through a hole in the wall, I dont know what he has to do with the strange readings you picked up, but you should know that he is A) a little strange B)more unpredictable and capable than he might let on C) he used to be my mission handler for home world and D) He once tried to blow me up with the Index Cannon on an Emerald Class Hand Ship one time.... but it turned out ok..."

Fuscite leaned in towards the exposed technology, inquisitive about how it worked. He was kneeling down, right in front of some kind of... Thing. The old gem was fairly sure this was what created the gravity well outside. It was an interesting piece of technology, truly. Turning to the side, Fuscite created a holographic recreation of the section Fuscite was investigating. Behind him, a Holo-Fuscite held the panel that had been removed so Fuscite could peek at the interior. Granted, he had almost no idea what this was and he didn't really understand how it worked, but it was something. And something was better than nothing. Fuscite, having nothing better to do, decided to tamper with the system and see what happened. After several minutes of messing with it, the gravity lowered. How did he know? Because the panel took a lot longer to fall than usual when the hologram tossed it to him.

"Gather up all of the gems, It’s time to ship out 'round the bend, Wave good-bye,But don’t you cry... Our memories remain... Our days are but a passing dream, Everlasting though they seem, Beneath the moon, We’ll meet again, The wind’s our lullaby!" The voice that if anyone had heard before would of course know Mr. O just by the sound, if someone was hearing him for the first time they would notice that his voice is kind of weird. It almost held a slight distortion to it, also an miner echo to everything he says.
Just about finishing up with his song he turns a corner and of course... "Carbide! How lovely it is to run in you and your.... friend?" He quickly strides closer to the two of them swinging his cane about as he does so, "Carbide! How rude of you! I had no idea you had FRIENDS here?!" His bright smile and giant eyes never even stopped on Carbide, they locked right onto Fulgurite. "I hope Carbs here didn't fill your head with lies about me darling! Would be a real shame..." He said as he rested both hands atop of his cane that rested before him awaiting a response.
At that moment he felt something shift.... things became... lighter? Maybe yet another gem was near by? It matters not... Mr. O had two gems that needed to be addressed before him.
"Would be a real shame..." Fulgur stepped away from the opening in the side of the spire and a step back from the new gem. Everything about him was making Fulgur uncomfortable, the eye contact, his voice, the air around him seemed to buckle and pulse around him. "No no, nothing but the most kind hearted words. I mean who doesn't shoot at friends with planetary siege weaponry from time to time." He said rather curtly and stood straight up, facing the seemingly 'out of place' gem, and placed his hand behind his back. "Though there must have been a good reason I'm sure. But beyond that, I seem to be lacking a name for such a fine gentleman as yourself."
Fulgur spoke without much inflection to try and not let his onset of a disposition towards the gem show. He links repeatedly flipping through several scanning arrays in an attempt to get a read on the 'air' around the gem before him, because Fulgur could feel there was something more to be seen. Before getting to far into the process Fulgur realized his body was not as heavy as he should be and looked straight down flipping to a specific scanner this time. After looking down for a moment be spoke. "It appears that some one is tampering with the gravity well. They haven't effected the outside but seemed to have lessened the gravity inside the structure, how odd. Seems as though we have another guest beyond yourself." Fulgur said looking back at the cane wielding stone.

Carbide straightens up from where she landed, also feeling the effect of the shifting gravity, her gem core taking a few moments to adjust and normalize for the gravitational flux the tower was experiencing, but still, it was an eerie sensation none the less, made all the more potent, by the seemingly.... even more unstable than usual nature of Mr. O.
Her boots echo on the aged and neglected stone work of the tower as she takes up a position beside Fulgur, somewhat relieved he didn't try to go all lightning fist of doom there, but she should have known better, he had been curt and polite even when he and Tiger were staring her down at the wrecked comm hub.
"Yeah, I think you're right Fulgur, everything here feels all messed up.. the gravity, the very air even... Ah, yes, I suppose I should have mentioned, this walking tuxedo prefers to be called... ahem..'The Magical Mr. O'.. but for the sake of conversational expediency, I suggest just calling him Opalite or Mr. O.."
She eyes Mr. O's behavior, he had always acted in a peculiar manner, but something.. on a gut instinct level felt extra off about him, almost an unwell feeling. She crosses her arms and steps forward a few paces, questioning him, "Opalite, what are you doing out here? Something feels strange about you, and THAT is saying something, especially coming from me."

Fuscite took note of the change in gravitational force when he messed with the thingy he was in front of. He caught the panel and placed it next to him, dissipating the hologram. An idea popped into his head. He began just straight up messing with it, the gravity changing more rapidly now. It stopped for a moment when the gravitational force got so heavy that the armor fell to the ground, pinning Fuscite. To solve this, he had the hologram punch the exposed technology, which lightened the gravity to almost what it would be like in space, or nearly 0 G's for you nerds out there. Fuscite used this to his advantage, returning the gravity to normal after a moment of clueless repositioning.

"Oh-hohoho she IS still sour about that hm?" he glanced between the two gems, his energy was going a bit crazy. He wanted to ask for the help of the two gems right away but he had to keep up his normal witty banter for just a little longer. Before he could reply to Fulgur asking him his name, in such a LOVELY manner! Carbide said it for him... how kind. "Yes darling! Mr. O will work fine!" He was still holding it together rather well... maybe he wouldn't need the help of these gems.
"Opalite, what are you doing out here? Something feels strange about you, and THAT is saying something, especially coming from me." .....damn, maybe he wasn't holding it together as well as he had thought. "Oh? Hmm.... Carbide.... you know what it is I do, correct hun?" He was of course talking about how he would shift from one dimension to another, "Something is.... pulling at me..." He mumbles this as he tried to shift and what both gems before him would see is his projection crackling and showing distortion for a few moment. Once he returned his eyes looked to be open even wider some how... maybe it was the twinge of pain that ran threw his body while trying to shift from one dimension to another.
That moment he felt the gravity shift hard pulling him towards the ground but he remained standing looking like he wasn't having an issue... then the gravity became less... so much so he started to float for a moment onto his toes. "What in my name is going on around here?!" He mumbles as he returns to his feet feeling the gravity returning to normal.
"What in my name is going on around here?!" Fulgur felt the changes in gravity as well and thankfully his body was capable of handling it. He kept himself composed as the gravity became almost crushing but the hydraulics in his legs well more than compensated and all that seemed to be noticed in his body was his hair being pulled almost straight down. When the gravity flipped and converted to zero g.s his hair returned to it's natural state though a bit more poofy, with his feet remaining on the ground since he had yet to even attempt to move. With the gravity finally returning to normal for at least a minute he decided to speak.
"Whoever is tampering with the gravity is either trying to hinder us or has absolutely no idea what they're doing. We may wish to get to the base of the spire and see what's going on before we get crushed. Oh, and it's a pleasure to meet you Opalite. Once we're on more stable footing and I can try and help you with your..." Fulgur stopped and flipped through a few scanners again and squinting while looking at the air around Opalite. "Problem..." He finished switching back to his normal vision and wringing his hands together behind his back.

"What is with all this gravitational flux? I thought we were on the Sea Spire, not a centrifuge! I'd expect something like this happening intermittently at such an old structure with no gems to maintain it properly, but is definitely someone mucking with the controls."
She adjusts her stance slightly, her hair being pulled flat much like in Fulgur's case as the gravity grows and then just as suddenly subsides back to a much more normal level. "Well then, there's no time to waste, this staircase only goes one way, but be careful, its one thing when you're on a solid floor, but the stairs are less solid, and these fluctuations could collapse part of the structure. If that happens, a long drop and a sudden stop may be the worst of your worries, if the whole thing collapses on top of you."
All this certainly wasn't what she had expected for a field trip, and she was'nt even sure they would get any salvage, especially if it seemed like the whole tower could end up being brought down by some mystery person who perhaps was not aware of the extent of what they were doing. Another minor gravitational fluctuation makes the old structure groan and shift, a few pebbles and bits of dust falling from the walls and ceiling but the pillar type structure was a sturdy design, regardless of its age. She moves to the descending staircase and gives the first step a few cautionary thumps with her foot, then looks back over her shoulder to Fulgur and Opalite... "Shall we?"

Fuscite stood up and walked away from the exposed panel, a hologram replacing it and then dissipating. Whatever was in there was too important to rip apart. He had heard conversation from high above him. He wasn't alone. Looking up, Fuscite magnified the view as he walked up the wall a few steps. What he saw were three gems, one of which was the scout. Carbide. The old gem had no idea who the other two were. Looking back down, a Holo-Fuscite followed on the stairs, carrying a day's worth of salvage and scrap, among other things. What was he collecting stuff for? Fuscite didn't really know. He was just doing it. The explorer walked up the wall towards Carbide, the hologram in pursuit a few meters behind him. What was Carbide doing here?
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
