Name: Prism
Appeared Gender: Agender
Appeared Age: 20
Gemstone: Glass Prism
Gem Location: Forehead
Corrupted: Not currently corrupted, but will be eventually become White Light to tie into cannon. It looks like this if you're curious.
Appearance: Colored accents can change hue. Yellow is the default/social mode color
Personality: Reasoning and methodical, Prism is more like a computer than a gem. They often have trouble expressing and understanding emotion, which is one of the reasons pearls and peridots are preferred over the artificial gem. Prisms are pre-programmed to seek out and serve a master gem. Their masters are usually assigned to them upon creation, but they will seek one out if they are left on their own.
Eager to please, Prism will focus all their attention on whatever task has been presented to them, even if the task is clearly pointless or impossible. Prism is extremely obedient and will do whatever they are asked. Paradoxically, they will act on their own initiative only if directly told to do so. When left with ridiculous problems or left to their own devices they can become quite creative, especially sense they are willing to overstep social boundaries.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes computers and math, dislikes paradoxical requests. Will Like and Dislike things on command.
Fears: Being shattered, Failing to complete assigned tasks, being abandoned
Fusion:
Weapon: Does not have a weapon, but can shoot beams of light and summon holographic light creatures.
Ability 1: Light Creature Spawn: Works like a Pearl hologram, but instead of a holographic copy of Prism it spawns in a light creature. These creatures are usually large insects, birds, or fish. Prism can summon up to 4 of these at a time, depending on the size of the creature. Larger creatures can take around 3 hits to defeat while the small ones can be dealt with in one blow. This ability can be used when Prism is in their gem form if another gem is holding Prism. When used in this way, the power of the light creatures is dependent on the power of the gem using it, and the light creatures will obey the gem using Prism as if they where the Prism.
Ability 2: Light Cannon: It's a big old laser beam my friend. The laser has a 40 ft range, a 2 foot diameter and takes about 6 or 7 seconds to charge. This attack can burn through most terrain(burns up to 4 feet through most objects). Using this attack is stressful on Prism's body and takes a long time to charge. Though it does a lot of damage, it also damages Prism. The color of the laser beam will match whatever color Prism's accents are, but this is purely cosmetic.
History: Gem production takes a long time, and there is always a high demand for servants and technicians. Because of this, Homeworld decided to produce artificial gems out of a glass-like material. Though Prisms where faster to make than normal gems, there where man problems with their production. The material used to create these fake gems is fragile and thus Prisms are very likely to break, even just from routine use over time. It was also noted that their apathetic and artificial feeling behavior made them rather off-putting and undesirable.
The one true advantage to the Prisms was in their gem form, they could be used by powerful gems to summon light creatures to serve them or aid them in battle. After facing multiple roadblocks, production of prisms by Homeworld was halted. Prism is one of the few of their kind left.
Prism came to earth as a servant to Blue Diamond, and served as an assistant to her technicians. After noticing divergent behavior in Prism, one of the Peridots had them retreat to their gem until they could be observed by a gemeticist. Earth fell into chaos before this observation could take place, and for a while, Prism was used as a gem weapon against the Rebels. During a battle, Prism was dropped and forgotten.
Eventually, Prism returned to their physical form and began to seek a gem to serve.
