The sky was grey. It was roughly.. 1:30 PM. It was raining, with lightning occasionally striking, followed by thunder. Zircon was sitting inside a abandoned hole in the Kindergarten, that a gem had come out a long time ago. He was almost entirely silent. It felt as if 2 people were having a sword fight in his head, constantly. He looked at his limb enhancers.. The corruption had taken on an organic form. His limb enhancers looked as if they had been covered in tar. He had tried taking the limb enhancers off earlier, but they wouldn't budge. His feet looked the same. He didn't really know what to do about it, because he had even tried cutting the tar-like substance. He stared outside, looking at the gray clouds. He had dark circles under his eyes. Rain fell on his visor as he tried contemplating what to do.
The Earth based kindergartens, once thriving terminals for the creation of gems, were now reduced to crumbling, desolate holes in the ground with busted drills and lost souls. An odd place for her first target to hang around, but definitely not the most inconvenient. As the drop pod plummetted from the upper atmosphere down toward the Earth below, Sugar recounted the data Obsidian gave her for this particular target.
Her prey was corruped, a Zircon model that Obsidian had supposedly run into in the past. The kid didnt look all too much of a threat, the only problem would be tracking him down. He could have ducked into any of the Kindergarten growth holes... Sugar tightly gripped the pod's safety bars as it violently collided with the ground, throwing dust and rubble in all directions. After taking a moment to then collect herself after the collision, Sugar teleported ouside of the pod and began her search, one of her shotguns in hand.
He ducked back into his hole upon hearing the boom of the drop pod landing. He decided to wait to see who it was until he summoned his sword. He stared out of the hole, nervously waiting for whoever, or whatever landed. Definitely not a human.. No chance of that. It was either a gem, or a corrupted monster. Probably a gem. He wondered who it could be, but was interrupted by his warring mind. One side was telling him to go out and crush their gem, the other side telling him to stand his ground, and try to negotiate with whoever it was. He couldn't get rid of the thoughts, and was now just waiting in the hole, like before.

Obsidian, the elite scientist back a Homeworld, partnered up with a "elite" warrior not too long ago, with their coorperation, Obsidian would help Sugar exact her revenge toward the Gem that "murdered" her fellow companions. That is, she helps with whatever the Mad Scientist needs.
Obsidian stood nearby in a ship, ready for extraction for the gem, Zircon. Who she had remember to be the exact same Zircon that nearly "defeated" her quite some time, but now, seeing the same Zircon going through some "changes". She decided that it's best for her to work on the corrupted gem for benefits that suit her and Homeworld needs. "Let's see what new things you've gotten from that sickness , Old friend" she giggled, pressing a button on her console, sending out a scout Automaton from her ship to record the events unfold between Sugar and the corrupted Zircon.
Sugar kept her guard up as she surveyed the area. While she was aware that the bottom of the kindergarten was an incredibly open area with very little cover, she was doubtful that anything really hung around here. Well, anything that she couldn't kill. However, hiking through the giant crevasse that was the remains of the kindergarten yielded inconclusive results, at least for the hour that she had already spent. She was already well aware that Obsidian was watching her with a drone, and the fact that she wasn't using it to actually be useful was getting on Sugar's nerves. After a few more minutes of hiking, Sugar turned around, looked the drone in the lense, and said, "Hey Obsidian. Why don't you quit playing 'camera crew' and actually use that stupid robot for something?"

"Why must you be so moronic sometimes." Obsidian groaned, placing her hand on the bridge of her nose, annoyed when gems say the stupidest things to her. "Do you think that i'll waste my regular automatons for something simple like this?" She said from the speaker of the scout automaton. "I sent out a couple more automatons scout variants to other places and yet they yield no results." Already her cohort was doubting her ability to do the most simplistic thing but in reality, she just wanted Sugar to take the first couple of direct hits from the corrupt gem so she won't get massively hurt until she is ready to either deliver the final blow with her ship or just pick up the defeated corrupted gem.
"And you didn't scout my drop off because..?" Sugar inquired, not giving enough time for an answer before flipping off the drone and walking off. "Just find the fucking punk so I can break his fucking legs." she said as she continued down the path, disgruntled at the scientist's insistence on watching. She didn't need someone monitoring the way she killed things. She just killed things. That was her job. If Obsidian wanted to just sit in a chair and cackle like a madwoman, that is perfectly fine. She wouldn't catch Sugar telling her how to properly cackle. Continuing down the path, the white haired gem glanced into every hole she passed, occasionally raising the shotgun as she did so, and even more occasionally making pew pew noises out of boredom. Jeez, only Obsidian could make a search and fucking mutilate mission boring.
Zircon heard the whir of drones in the near distance.. And voices. He couldn't exactly make out the voices, due to his.."headache". Although, he couldve sworn he had heard one of those voices before. He tried to remember who it was, but had no success. He put his right hand on the stone wall next to him, and moved up slowly, trying to ignore the voices in his head. He didn't know if he should summon his sword or not. He poked his head out of the hole, and began staring out at the rest of the kindergarten. He saw a few drones ahead, but that was about it. He thought he could faintly see the figure of a gem in the distance, but he want sure.

Only such vulgar words would come out from the small soldier gem, rolling her eyes. Of course most gems would think Obsidian simply hides and watches the conflict unfold but she is playing her little game, watching gems and recording their movements and patterns, placing her pieces where she needs them to be. Yes this was Obsidian, a deep careful planner, always trying to out-think her opponents even before they even make a move towards her. "As you wish." she gritted her teeth, being ordered around by some common fodder! How dare she!
The scout droids scattered about, detecting no sentient gems on the radar so far since they were deployed. Sugar message was forwarded toward to the other scouts, once receiving the "message", they took the search to the skies, where they could detect the Zircon easier (if they can). As Zircon poked his head out to see what was going on, one of the scout automatons that was watching Sugar quickly turned it's attention toward the signal, it's lens flashed red constantly, beeping loudly as well. "The target is right over there!" Obsidian yelled from the automaton speaker. "All Scouts proceed to the signal and don't let that target escape!" Obsidian ordered her scout automatons, almost all automatons halted their flight to the sky and immediately started flying straight to where Zircon is, all except the one that is constantly watching over Sugar.
Once the scouts were alerted to her target's location, Sugar triggered her featherweight and fired a round behind her, sending her flying in the direction of the Zircon. Coming to a skidding stop, Sugar looked her target up and down, trying to judge its viability in combat. It's limb enhancers seemed to be malfunctioning, but otherwise the gem was fine. However, her opponent most of all seemed scared. Granted, who wouldn't be? Sugar was a drop trooper, carrying the full wrath of Yellow Diamond in every step she took. Taking down this Zircon looked to be nothing more than child's play.
Sugar was almost disappointed.
After cocking her shotgun and letting out a disappointed sigh, Sugar leveled the weapon to the fearful gem's knee, muttering "Alright. Let's get this over with." before pulling the trigger.
Zircon seemed shell-shocked for a moment, before returning to reality. He stared the Sugar in the face, and as she pulled the trigger, he quickly teleported. He had just barely managed to teleport in time, and as he reappeared, the bullets flew into the hole. He summoned his sword, but as he was about to strike, he dropped his sword and grabbed his head, which was now in quite a lot of pain. His sword fell with a metallic clang. There was no way to recover from this 'headache', at least not for awhile. He fell to the ground, and almost blacked out. The corruption seemed to be spreading, and the black, tar-like substance formed on the bottom of his limb enhancers on his feet. It crawled to around his ankle before stopping. Zircon didn't seem to notice, and was basically able to be captured now. He most likely wouldn't be able to put up a fight.

"He wasn't like this before..." Obsidian said through the speakers of her Automaton, worrying over the new strange "liquid" that was oozing from the fallen gem. " Be prepared for pick-up, I don't want to risk you being outside for too long without knowing what happened to this gem first." She was worried about losing her only pawn in this war, not her safety as such. Obsidian ordered her Automatons to retrieve the fallen gem, the Automaton's, proceeded to "shock" the fallen gem, trying to force it back to it's gem-like state so it can be easier for them to contain Zircon.
"I'll send you the coordinates now." With a press of a button, she sent the landing coordinates to the Automaton that was "recording" Sugar which showed Sugar a hologram where a checkpoint is made for where the ship would land. Obsidian got up from her chair and exited her room and headed toward the ship's cockpit, where she would tell her pearls to land the ship nearby Sugar.
"Aaw, the mad scientist actually cares about me. Cute." Sugar snarked as she primed her shotgun, watching as the Zircon was continuously electrocuted by Obsidian's drones. The Owyhee Jasper had warned Sugar about this phenomenon, this corruption. Sugar knew of the danger, and could only guess at what kind of pain the Zircon was enduring. It was almost sad, actually. Letting out a sigh as she leveled the gun to his back, Sugar squeezed the trigger, looking away as the shot rang out. She didn't stick around long enough to see what would happen next to the poor gem. She couldn't tell why, but she just wanted to leave. "What would you want with a corrupted gem?" Sugar thought aloud as she checked the holo-map displayed for her and headed off.

Obsidian rolled her eyes as the small murderous gem remark. The Automatons managed to retrieve the fallen gem Zircon due to the help of Sugar help. "This is a growing problem here on this planet..these corruptions are supremely dangerous to Homeworld, if i can capture one of these corruptions then i could study then in my secured ships." while this is true, Obsidian had other intentions for researching the Corruption so she can use it for her own needs, chemical warfare?, a cure?, who really knows with Obsidian twisted mind anything can come up. While the three other automatons flew back to Obsidian ship, with the gem stored in a bubble, the one Automaton that was "recording" Sugar continued to accompany her with the holo-map.
Zircon looked at his last sight before poofing, a shotgun barrel held by Sugar. He was almost instantly poofed, from the electricity and the shotgun bullet. His face was one of terror for a moment, before having accepted that he would be poofed. His face became serious after that. The bullet hit him, and his gem dropped to the ground, rain falling on top of it once it fell. Lightning struck in the distance, followed by thunder, and the rain picked up a bit, making the rocks slick, and whatever dirt there was into mud. Oddly, his limb enhancers had come with him instead of falling off, like they normally would. The drones carried him off to Obsidian's ship in a bubble.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
