Ruby and Lapis followed the map that Para had made for them, wandering not too far out of Beach City proper. Ruby, still handling the map, looked around as they began to leave the town, but kept walking. "According to this, it seems like we might find them around here somewhere." Ruby said, walking into a green meadow where the map told them to be. She stopped as the map told them to, scanning around the grass with her eyes. It was getting later in the day now, not quite sunset, but the light of the sun would begin to fade any time now.
"You'd be able to spot them if you saw them, right? Especially if they're... out here somewhere." Ruby shuffled her feet, lowering the map to look out at everything.
"Absolutely. It's the only Light Mocha Pearl I've ever seen—the only Pearl too, for that matter." She answered Ruby as they walked into the meadow. She had been mostly fixed on the map this whole time, but had to break her focus to look down at her feet when they began to walk on the grass. Grass was still a strange thing for her to feel under her feet, as there isn't much in Beach City or many of the other places she frequents. They moved a little more into the meadow, when Lapis stopped. She looked around. "...Well I don't see them right now, but that's okay. If this is where we'll probably find them, maybe we'll see them pass by eventually." With that, she falls onto her back in the meadow to stare up at the sky and wait. Presumably, Ruby does too.
Light was really often going to the meadow near Beach City. This place was not destroyed by humans or gems. It was nice to be there. He was even thinking about making a little house there. He didn't want to make a big one because that way he would only destroy this area. There was also an idea in his head to make it a shelter for injured animals and people.
It was a quite big meadow. Full of green long grass. Light at the morning decided to go there so he could paint in peace. He was actually painting the place he was in. Light wanted to make this painting so badly that he didn't realize it is late arleady. He fall asleep in a fall grass so it was hard to see him. He was hugging his work.
Ruby and Lapis probably didn't saw him but after a while they were probably able to hear some snoring near them.
Ruby blinked, becoming acutely aware of the sounds around her as she lay next to Lapis. She was able to spot the new sound, and she sat up immediately, her head popping out of the tall grass. She pushed to a stand, giving Lapis a shushing motion with a single finger and wandering over in that direction, being sure to be quiet. Upon stumbling on/spotting Light, her eyes widened and she backed up back to Lapis, turning to her and speaking quietly. "I found them- I think? You'd be the easiest to know. They sort of look like a Pearl." Ruby rubbed her hair, pointing off back through the grass in the direction of where she had seen Light.
As Ruby had become more aware, Lapis was becoming less and less aware of what was going on around her. Her mind began to slip again right as she noticed Ruby sitting up. Her brow furled a touch and she pushed herself up to ask Ruby what was wrong. Before she had a chance though, Ruby had shushed her. At least she had assumed that the had gesture Ruby had made meant for her to be quiet. She nodded. Lapis watched Ruby walk off as she herself got up onto her knees. When Ruby returned and mentioned that it might have been Light she was looking at, Lapis looked a little more relaxed and got up. She followed Ruby back to where Light had been, and her face lit up. "Hello Light!" She began, then frowned when the Pearl hadn't responded. What was wrong with them? She tried again, assuming Light hadn't heard her. "HELLO LIGHT."
Light was sleeping like a baby "Para... can't I just beat this game ZZZzzz...." It looks like he was also talking while sleeping. He was also summoning hologram but this time he was sleeping on his stomach so gems weren't able to see what is it.Suddenly Lapis started yelling. Pearl freaked out. He summoned his gem weapon with one hand, his other hand was still holding a work he made before. "Who is that?! I don't want to fight you!" Light spotted his old friend the Lapis Lazuli. "Lapis...? Oh I am sorry, I was sleeping-" He also spotted a new gem that looked like a Ruby. "Lapis... who are they? Please tell me they are not hostile." It was odd that someone came here, Light never found other gem here.
Hearing Light speaking in their sleep but still unaware of what sleep is, Lapis began to shout again. "LIGHT? CAN YO—" When suddenly Light had drawn a weapon. With a surprised little yelp, Lapis sprung behind Ruby and stared with a deer-in-the-headlights expression. When she realized Light wasn't about to attack them, she softened a little. "i-it's okay." She forgot that suddenly pulling weapons on gems was just a thing the others did. "This is Ruby..." She answered, glancing down to the shorter gem in front of her. "We were told this is where we'd find you, because, um, weeee heard you were a rebel. And we needed to talk to one." She looked down at Ruby to let her continue.
Ruby, unlike Lapis, was staring directly at this Pearl. She had taken up a defensive position in front of Lapis, back probably up near her, and now that everyone was looking at her, they might notice she had also summoned her gem weapon. Adorning her fists were red spiked knuckledusters that steamed ever so slightly in the setting sun. She narrowed her eyes at this Pearl, but didn't move an inch. She looked up to Lapis, then turned back to the Pearl.
"...yeah. What Lapis said. We need information... and I don't want to fight you either. Not if I don't have to." She warned, narrowing her eyes a little more. Her voice was likely unlike what Lapis had ever heard before, gravelly with a standard Ruby-like anger twinge.
Light unsummed his gem weapon and placed the painiting behing him on the ground. He looked at the Ruby when Lapis mentioned them. They also summoned a weapon... Light tried to stay calm. After all it is normal, he did the same thing. However gem's look... it wasn't just a Ruby. She was determinated and loyal to her Lapis friend. A lot of other Rubies would probably have no idea what to do if an opponent appeared.
Lapis knew that he is a rebel. Light didn't expect that "Oh I am sorry! When I saw you I thought you are dangerous! I panicked and lied... I really didn't want this to end up like this. So I kinda changed my story. I didn't mentioned the fact that I became a rebel. Wait, who told you were I am and that I am a rebel?"
Listening to Ruby really freaked him out. It was first time he saw such a scary Ruby. Light placed his hand on the back of his head and tried to speak"I ummm... of course! What do you need to know?"
Ruby lowered her fists to her sides as Light dispersed their weapon. She did not disperse her own weapon(s), and she still stood in front of Lapis, but she looked a little less defensive now. "It's none of your business who sent us. For what it's worth, I think it's safe to say they're a friend of your... group. I think." Ruby said, not sounding so sure of her last sentence. She returned to sounding confident afterwards.
"...but I need to know about my captain. Ruby Facet-1A3G, Cut-3RG. Commanded a squad of rubies, and a Red Eye that crash-landed near Jersey. I've got my suspicions that the Crystal Gems-" The words 'Crystal Gems' sounded like Ruby didn't like saying them, "have captured her, and are holding her prisoner. Probably for information about her mission." Ruby said, eyes narrowed again. She looked up at Lapis to imply 'did you have any questions' with a look.
Lapis responded to Ruby's look with a worried frown, before turning her attention back to Light. "It's just a thought." Lapis added gently, reasonably, stepping to the side of Ruby again. "We've been looking for Ruby's captain for a while now and we're... well, worried about her. We're... not... completely convinced that the Crystal Gems have her captured or anything, and we're not saying you did it, but it's just an option we haven't gotten to explore yet since we haven't met many rebels so far. And if she is captured, it... could all just be a misunderstanding of course!" Lapis tried, sounding cautious and glancing down at Ruby to make sure she wasn't hurt by that. "We're not... trying to do anything bad to the rebels. We just want to find Ruby's captain."
Pearl felt a little bit uncomforatble after Rube's sentence. He started to think that she may had something to Pearls... or just Crystal Gems. However only few Crystal Gems knew that Light spends a lot of time on this meadow. So their 'friend' was probably a Rebel. "Of course, I am sorry..."
Pearl started to thi k about the past when he heard about a crash landing. That was how he got it and his owner was a Ruby. Hiwever it wasn't near Jersey "You are searching for your captain?" Light rubbed his chin "Well... there are some poofed Rubies in our base. However all of them are corrupted gems. I never heard of a normal Ruby being in our base. We only bubble dangerous gems. To be honest you are the first not corrupted Ruby I saw here on Earth."
Light had an idea. He summoned 4 holograms. They were made out of cubes. There was a big cube inside other cube. The rest of the elements were formed to look like a simple hand. They also had a a pair of small wings. "These holograms are really fragile. However there are quite smart and can fly."
Pearl turned to holograms "I want you Holo#1, #2, #3 and #4 to search for a non cirrupted Ruby" One of holograms jumped, it was probably suppose to mean "Yes" or something. Than all of the holkgrams flew to the sky and started searching for a Ruby "They should take care of this."
"We could.... if you want to of course, go to our temple. Maybe someone will know something. You have nothing against going to the temple of Crystal Gems, right?" Light wasn't sure about this idea but he really wanted to help this Ruby. He also wanted to show Lapis and Ruby that Rebels aren't that bad.
Ruby watched with wide eyes as the four square holograms seemingly floated off into the air and out of sight. "Wh-" Is all she managed, before Light continued speaking. When they said, 'You have nothing against going to the temple of Crystal Gems,' Ruby's eyes narrowed again. She seemed to grumble inwardly, and though she didn't raise the fists with her weapons on the, the knuckledusters themselves seemed to heat up ever so slightly. "I don't like being brought into my enemies' base without a plan." Ruby said. She also looked to Lapis to try to get her to articulate her own feelings better, or look for some other solution. "...is that the only place where we can speak to the other... Crystal Gems?" She said, the words once again not coming easily. She continued to glance up at Lapis.
Lapis seemed a lot less surprised than Ruby in seeing the holograms leave, and while hearing Ruby speak, she looked down at her worriedly again to watch her. When Ruby glanced up at her and their eyes met again, she slowly nodded in assurance. She held her hand briefly over her own gem to give her palm a light coating of water, and set her hand down on Ruby's shoulder as she turned her attention back to Light. Steam lightly trailed off Ruby's shoulder from Lapis' hand.
"I think Ruby is just worried about the idea of going into the Crystal Gem base. I'm worried too—she's heard a lot of... really bad things about the rebels from Homeworld and, well, I believe her just as much as I believe you. I don't think we want to hurt anyone." She glanced down at Ruby to confirm. "But we also don't want to be hurt ourselves. Though if the rest of the Crystal Gems are anything like you and Moonstone, I don't think we have to worry. And I hope that if we go there without a 'plan'..." She began, hand still on Ruby's shoulder. "...then you or the rest of the Crystal Gems won't have one either, right? After all, Ruby and I also want the Earth and the Humans to be safe, just like the rebels. If... something goes wrong, we just want to be able to leave."
Light looked at Ruby's reaction... just as he thoght. Pearl knew that she won't want to come to the rebel base. Actually he and Lady Para also weren't often coming there too, Para made some Crystal Gems enemies and he once betrayed his time. It was during his deppresion.
"I don't want to force you to anything, you will decide if you want to come. I could do it myself. But I don't think I will find anything."
Light grabed the back of his head with one hand "Look... it is true that Crystal Gems did some bad things. Just as Homeworld. We are gems like you. We just have different goal than loyalists. Our group is not made out of brain dead monsters. There are a lot od kind hearted persons here that just want to save Earth. Sadly figting is the only way out of this."
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’.
