"The rebels?" Her expresion went from what looked like fear and sadness to hope when she heard about the rebellion. That didn't speak any kind of good for her or Blue, that reaction almost proved it, they had done something wrong, they were runaways, they defiled the diamonds. "Which one is the closest?" She asked, hope in her voice and a slight bit of determination in her eye. This probably didn't spell well for her or her inactive friend. She began to walk forward then stopped, after realizing that her ignorance may now get the two of them shattered. She backed up a bit, the fear returning to her eyes, before she turned around and ran, keeping her friends gem close, and not stopping to look back.
The pink-court gem became stiff for a moment, her eyes narrowing at the gem before her as she tried to put together the implications of what she'd said. Though the words in themselves seemed somewhat innocent, the sapphire's head was brimming with questions. There were no truths or untruths to unravel in those words, but Padpara's innate ability for the analyzation of body language gave her the sense that this gem had an uncanny interest in something that she perhaps shouldn't have. But, they were still in a dangerous area, and the sapphire's nerves were biting at her, telling her to leave as soon as it was possible to do so.
"As in...the closest rebel controlled area? Well, I'll tell you once we get to a more secured zone ourselves. This place isn't the most pleasant to be," Padparadscha insisted, glancing around the kindergarten. She motioned for Opalite to join her on the pad, and her tone softened in a calculated attempt to seem more inviting, "It's alright, comrade. After what we've been through, the four of us need a moment, don't you think? I've been on this planet for quite a few years-- not to brag, but I like to think I know a thing or two about it,"
Opalite nodded and hesitantly stepped onto the pad. "And this mode of travel is safe?" She asked and looked at the sapphire with a bit of worry in her eye as she looked around at the surrounding environment. She was clearly confused about everything so far and didn't like the welcome to the planet that she had been given. They hadn't been on the planet for more than a day and already one of them had been poofed and close to being shattered, if it weren't for the other two, Opalite and her friend would have seen the end of their lives within less than a few hours of being on a new planet. This made Opalite think it may have been a bad idea to come here in the first place.
"Of course," Padparadscha gave a soft smile, then sighed in genuine relief, now that Opalite had finally given way. Pink Pearl too seemed to be more relaxed. The sapphire eyed the gem in Opalite's clutches, and she wondered at these stranger's circumstances. Curiosity burned in her, and she needed to get to the bottom of this. Now she was going outside of the jurisdiction of her mission, but she was more than willing to go above and beyond for an information gathering opportunity. Perhaps she would find that these gems were trustworthy after all, though there was still a possibility that they were more nefarious.
She thought on it a little harder. What were a Blue Goldstone soldier and an Opalite adviser doing on the surface? They seemed to be higher-ranking gems, though Padparadscha was more familiar with pink-court customs than she was with that of the blue-court. She decided that she would have to chose her words carefully, no matter the status of these gems. "If you're ready, we can leave the kindergarten,"
Opalite nodded quickly. "Yes please." She said and looked around, hoping to not encounter any more corrupted gems. "Anywhere but here is fine now." She said and watched the other two carefully, waiting until she had the chance to run. These two were loyal to at least one of the diamonds, and Opalite didn't want to be shattered, nor did she want that fate for her friend who sat dormant in her hands. Just the thought of being shattered, pretty much without any ability to fight back now that she had used all her energy on the previous fight, scared her, and Blue wouldn't even know, because she wouldn't be able to come back after something of the sort, she'd be stuck inside her gem forever.
With that, the warp pad came alive, a pillar of light engulfing the gems where they stood before they dissipated. Then, the group reappeared on a crystalline pad situated in the middle of a golden field, the wind carried across the rolling wheat and grass as if it were trying to push the gems onward. The overcast sky above made Padpara purse her lips, it would be difficult to fly in a storm. Not far from where they stood, a small stand of trees covered the hull of the ship. They would have to make this a speedy information gathering opportunity, if the lot of them wished to make it back in a timely fashion.
She turned toward Opalite,"Here we are, as promised. Now, I have a few questions, if you would be willing to indulge me?" She gave an inviting smile, hoping that the gem would relent,"As I've said, I have a bit of knowledge about this planet that I can share with you in exchange,"
Opalite nodded. "I'm not leaving this planet though." She said and stepped off the warp pad, sitting in the grass and pressing a hand to the ground next to her. "It's so soft, what is it?" She asked and laid back, letting out a sigh of relaxation, she looked more relaxed than any time in what little time the two pink court gems had known her. She closed her eyes and kept her friends gem close, holding it near her own gem that was positioned in the center of her chest. She let out another sigh, this time it sounded... sad. She opened her eyes and looked at the dormant gem in her hands. "I wish you could be here to witness this right now." She said in a whisper to the gem, her voice was nearly carried away by the wind, the other two would have to strain to hear her voice.
Padparadscha watched her go, quiet for a moment. There seemed to be something more behind Opalite's words as her mood unraveled, and she took up a spot in the field with her comrade. Why didn't she want to leave the planet, especially if she didn't know much about it? That seemed peculiar. "It's grass, ubiquitous on the Earth's surface, though it appears in different forms depending on the climate," The sapphire moved in a bit closer, but lingered near the warp as Opalite spoke on. A discomfort rose through her as she recognized something familiar about the way that this mysterious gem spoke about her friend. She'd known a bit of what it was like to be close to a gem, but it was something that gave her a deep feeling of conflict. Her duties would always take priority over emotions, or at least, that's what she told herself.
"You two seem to be close," She commented, trying to keep her voice breezy,"I hope she recovers well, she seems to be a stellar soldier." The sapphire clasped her hands together,"Though, I do have to wonder what the two of you were doing inside of a highly dangerous quarantined zone,"
"We had lost each other on entry into this planet's atmosphere." She said. "Our ship had gotten torn to pieces, sending me fly in one direction, and Blue in the other, I had landed near that place, and when I heard Blue's voice, I traveled towards it." She explained and just stared at the sky. She watched as the wind blew leaves into the air and as birds fluttered in and out of the sky. After her explanation, she went silent and only admired the beauty of the world around her, she didn't look at the sapphire or her pearl, only to the gem in her hands and back the world that was so new to her, she turned the unmoving gem over in her hands, examining it for any damage that may be causing her friend to take so long with reforming.
Her expression grew solemn as she listened. Another crash, though luckily for these gems, both of them had survived. She gave a quiet sigh, now she had more questions. Peculiar indeed it was that they had crash landed on this planet, yet had no desire to leave. Most of the gems she'd met who had been chained here by traumatic events had wanted to catch the next ship out as soon as possible. Her suspicions were beginning to grow, despite her commiseration with the gem's appeal to her emotions.
"It's unfortunate that you had to land in such a perilous place. But, now you're on Earth, and it sounds like you're staying. Is there a task you're looking to carry out?" Her words were a bit short, and she walked up to stand more closely to Opalite where she laid. Pink Pearl followed close behind at attention. Padparadscha left her words intentionally vague, she didn't want to scare the gem away after all-- but she did want to get to the bottom of this strange series of events.
"We wish to find a place for ourselves to be safe." Opalite said and looked up at the sapphire who now stood over her, she wanted to tell this gem what she had done, and the real reason for her and her friend to be here. But she knew better, she had met a gem who was loyal to homeworld, she didn't want to risk getting turned in, so she went silent, only wanting to answer the questions that may have been thrown at her. She stood up and looked to the sky, a storm had looked as though it was gonna start right over their heads, and the clouds carried pent up electricity, waiting to be released at any moment.
She cleared her throat,"Well I can tell you right now that Earth isn't a safe place. It's hostile-- from it's climates, creatures, and the conflict that it's been embroiled in." Suddenly, Padparadscha was struck by something Opalite had said earlier, her interest in rebel territories. The dots began to connect for her as she thought of the predicament that these two were in. Her eyes narrowed and she motioned for her pearl to stay back. Now the sapphire would give a test to this Opalite, to see once and for all what was going on here. She loathed to think that these could be runaways, especially since they had exhibited such prowess.
"The safest place in this solar system is the Headquarters, based on this planet's moon. I'm sure you're out of sorts, but once back on base we can get you established and set back on a proper schedule," She clasped her palms together, hoping for the best, but her doubts were nagging her. Everything about this was off, and it seemed that the opalite was skirting around her questions.
"I told you already, I'm not leaving this planet. And neither is Blue, whether against her will or not." Opalite seemed angry now, she knew what the other was trying to accomplish, but didn't want to be caught, so she only repeated what she had earlier said. "I'm sure your ship has enough power to get you to homeworld, why don't you ask the diamonds why we're here in the first place?" Her tone got more aggressive with every word she said, the sapphire had clearly struck a nerve, and it was a sensitive one at that. But Opalite turned away from the other two and kept her face out of view, her eyes had begun to water. "It's my fault." The other gem said quietly.
Much like the fuming Opalite in front of her, the sapphire found her own pang of anger rising. The comment about the Diamonds made her suspicions culminate. But, as the gem began to break down, Padparadscha remained silent, casting a discerning eye on the gem. Abandoning ones home must've been a difficult decision, one that the sapphire would never undergo herself. She didn't know why this gem had chose Earth, nor what exactly was her fault-- truth be told, she didn't much care for the motivations of deserters. But now she had the evidence she needed in order to back up her claims, and she may soon be the one to file a warrant for both of these runaways.
For now, the sapphire decided that if she could, she would try to help this gem see things from a more honorable perspective. Perhaps in her state, the opalite would be easier to convince; Padparadscha had seen it before, cornered gems could be wildcards however. "Opalite, I have not an interest in asking the Diamonds. I want to ask you, as someone who just underwent the trouble of helping your friend," Her eyes flickered down to the gem in Opalite's palm,"--and yourself. It's no small feat for a sapphire to put herself into the line of danger, I hope you realize," She spoke in a soft, warm tone. The sapphire was accustomed to modulating her tone, and she did so now in the same way she did when in the interrogation room. Outright asking the thing she wished to know would likely scare the gem back, so she opted for a more roundabout approach. "It's okay. Everyone is safe right now. I just want to know what it is you plan to do while you're here. Wandering aimlessly throughout the wilderness of Earth is likely to undo all of the trouble I went through to help you-- many gems don't last long with the corruptions and inimical climates here."
"We plan to seek out the help of the rebels." She said as the clouds above began to thunder and let rain fall down on top of them. The Opalite's arms now falling to her sides she turned to look at the other two again, her eyes showed the her feelings. Fear, rage, and sadness, all at once. She now seemed to have most of her strength back, and stressing hr out any more would most likely do more harm than good. She stood and watched the two as a bolt of lightning struck down nearby, seeming attracted to the metal of the ship. Opalite watched the lightning with amazement then turned back to the other two once more. "So, if we're done here..." She said as two wings made of light sprouted from her back.
