Varis had honestly started to fade out as Fucite had spoke to him... everything was so hazy... he remembered Fuscite talking.... the gems within his grasp... a tight grip even for his glitched out projection. What the armored green gem said echoed threw his mind while he rest, unable to really speak much in his current state. "I... Saved...you. You are... The first gem I met... On this rock. I will... Not let anyone... Mess with you." That played over and over threw his glitching head.
He seemed so much more different then when they had met... he sounded odd and couldn't really speak too well, what had happened to him? Once they had reached the pad Varis was already trying to hold the image of the Temple in his mind, making sure thats where they ended up.
A light flashing on the warp pad inside Roses fountain, leaving in its wake Fuscite the green armor clad gem, holding Variscite whos projection is glitching in and out. "The w-water... " he mumbled still holding the gems tight in his hands.

Fuscite stepped off the warp pad and rushed over to the fountain, kneeling down in the water and plopping Variscite down gently. He looked around while Variscite lay in the waters. He hadn't been here before. There was a giant statue in the center of the fountain. It was probably the Rose Quarts the Anti-Diamond was talking about. The leader of the rebellion. He stood up and stiffened his posture, saluting the statue. The old gem held the pose for several minutes before kneeling back down to Variscite. "Variscite." He eyed the two red gems through the visor. "Why... Did you bring... Them?" He cupped his hands in the water and held it up to the light. "What is so special... About the water, Variscite?" He let the water run through his gloves and back into the fountain.
Getting dunked into a body of water had never felt so good... the moment he felt his gem touched the water, its magic or whatever people wanna call it, ease all his pain. His gem began to glow a bright green color as he started to heal his cracked gem. The two gems he held had slipped from his grip as he entered the water, drifting to the bottom with a "Clink" sound as they hit the bottom of the semi-shallow fountain.
Variscites eyes shot open and he jumped up quickly, shooting water from the fountain about as he did, shaking his head spraying more water about. He held a slight smile across his face as he felt so much better, "Why... Did you bring... Them?" Variscite wanted to ask what had happen to Fuscite... he seemed so spacey compared to how he use to be when he first met him. "They didn't de-deserve to be hurt l-like that... it was my fault." He said pulling off his soaked hoodie leaving him in a purple tank top that was just as soaked.
"Th-T... ugh... This water is sp-special. I still don't know wh-what happen to me... but I just hoped this would h-help me.." He looked down at the two gems thinking to himself, "So are two gems going to appear? Or just the one from before..." He was unsure still how fusion really had worked.

Fuscite's attention was captured by the bright glow of Variscite's gem as it interacted with the water. Interesting. As the now healed Variacite flung water all over the place, Fuscite walked over to the two red gems resting at the bottom of the fountain."Variscite..." He looked over at said gem. "Are you trying to... Defend... Your aggressors?" He slowly shook his head. "Her... They... It... Cracked you. I've...I've seen that before. It... Is serious." Fuscite peered over the edge of the fountain where Variscite had discarded his hoodie. "This water... Is indeed... Special. Healing capabilities. Very... Useful." He knelt down over the two gems. "Two... One... I'm not... Sure of that, Variscite." Just like Variscite, Fuscite didn't know how fusion worked. Even worse, Fuscitr didn't know what fusion actually was.
For the short time it took to get the the fountain the gems had been mostly idle, save for the non-cracked one. It seemed to glow periodically, as if it was trying to form itself early but couldn't manage such a feat so soon after poofing. It almost seemed like desperation or panic more than anything. However once Variscite entered the water with them the gem went silent. The cracked gem glowed bright, dulling to reveal a pristine gem exactly the same as the other, save for it being smaller. A few second passed after Variscite exited the fountain before the larger gem began glowing and shot out of the water. Slowly a form grew from it, resembling the previously seen gem, but much smaller. The form solidified to a small red gem (same height as Ruby) and lowered to the ground just outside the fountain. The gem appeared to be male, though he resembled the fusion. Immediately his look was one of surprise, then fear, then anger. All which changed rapidly within the span of 30 seconds. As his face settled onto anger he yelled, "What did you do to her! Where is she!" While he talked her stepped forward, summoning a hammer similar to the fusion's, minus the spear-type blade.
As the gem advanced the second, previously cracked gem, rose form the fountain and began glowing. From it formed a gem similar to the one already formed, but appeared to be female. She lowered onto the ground, stumbling slightly. Immediately the first gem's weapon dissipated as he ran straight for his fellow gem. He embraced the gem, "Oh Pye! I'm so sorry! I slipped up, we shouldn't have been split so easy! You could have been shattered, or captured, or..." the gem continued on, holding this gem (seemingly named Pye) in a tight embrace. Meanwhile she gave a knowing smile, as if she'd dealt with this before. "Pyre, it's fine! I'm fine, alright? Besides, look!" she managed to break out of his grip and excitedly pointed to her chest, revealing the now healed gem.
Pyre, the male gem apparently, looked at her gem for a long moment seemingly stunned. Eventually his face contorted into anger once again and quickly his weapon was in his hand. He took a step towards the closest gem, probably Variscite, and raised his hammer, "What did you do to her! What did-!" he stopped as Pye grabbed his arm that held the hammer above his head. "Pyre, I'm fine I swear! Whatever they did fixed my gem. I haven't felt this good in years! So just... lower the weapon, ok?" She held his eyes for a moment before he turned away and unsummoned his weapon once again. "Gah, fine! But don't forget who cracked you in the first place." Pyre took a step to the side, slightly in front of Pye with his arms crossed as he glared at the two gems in front of him.
As Pyre took his place guarding Pye she looked at them both for a few seconds before breaking into a friendly smile, "Sorry about that, I suppose introductions are in order. I'm Pye, and this is Pyre. Excuse him, he's a bit... protective." Pyre didn't respond aside from narrowing his eyes briefly at Fuscite, "Also, sorry for the uhm... rude introductions at the spire. Pyre here still thinks we're on guard duty." She chuckled but Pyre threw up his hands, "Just because some rebels wrecked up the place for a few hundred years doesn't mean we get to slack off! For all we knew that gem (he pointed at Variscite) was a human snooping around and he (he pointed at Fuscite) was scrapping the place for parts! Of course I wanted to guard that place, they probably don't even understand how old that place is!" Slowly his rant died down as he caught Pye's eyes again, a smirk on her face. Obviously she found it funny to get him riled up like that. As soon as he realized she was goading him into an argument he crossed his arms again and quieted down, glaring at the two gems again. Both of them were dressed similarly, though Pyre had a quad-diamond pattern on the side of his head signifying an allegiance to Homeworld. Oddly, Pye was missing it. (Updated profile pic unlocked )
Variscite had sat down on the edge of the fountain and seemed he was taking a breather... he knew gems didn't need to breath just.... he may have been breathing for the first ten years or so until he fell into a lake and realized he didn't need air.... yeah Varis always seemed to have bad luck for as long as he could remember. "Are you trying to... Defend... Your aggressors?" this made Varis turn to look at Fuscite, his hands resting on his knees, "Well... I k-kinda tricked them... they th-thought I was human 'cuz.... ya know." He said holding his arms out as if to present himself... his skin was indeed very close to human skin color.
Returning his hands to their former position he continued, "I thought it m-might be fun to l-let them think that.... b-bad idea, yea?" He said with a stupid smile across his face as he shakes his head regrading the idea. When Fuscite spoke of how serious a cracked gem was he just shrugged, "I didn't kn-know we could crack our gems.... m-makes me feel ev-even more lucky... heh..." He figured with as many close calls he had, he should cound himself SUPER lucky with was the first time he was cracked.
At that moment... a very short gem came jumping from the water... like SMALL, Varis had yet to stand up so he just watched this gem for a moment. "What did you do to her! Where is she!" before Varis could say anything the little guy summons a hammer!? He quickly looks towards Fuscite shaking his head trying to tell him, "Don't kill!" then returns his gaze back to see yet another gem? This one looked more female and was able to calm the little guy down some... until he raised his hammer to Varis again, "He does that ONE more time....." ran threw his head as a slightly aggravated looked flashed across his face.
"Gah, fine! But don't forget who cracked you in the first place." ... Even while the more friendly gem was trying to introduce them he couldn't help but to shoot a glare towards Pyre, those words stuck with Variscite... was he about to have to punt a gem? He figures he had a bigger question to ask but he isn't going to drop this so quickly... "Wait.... you two a-are... two? Were you fused? I th-thought all fusion were like... b-big and had four arms and eyes?" He said holding his arms out to his side before returning them to his knees. "Also uh.... P-pyre? Yeah.... c-cracking me was luck, d-don't go thinking im an e-easy target.... me and you w-wouldn't be a f-fair fight." His eyes locked onto the small gem... he could almost feel and outburst coming as a slight grin crawled across his face.

The old gem facepalmed. "Trick them?...You idiot." He began pacing around Variscite. "You...Yes. Bad idea..." He trailed off. "That red gem...could have...killed you, Variscite." Fuscite summoned his blade gauntlets as soon as the first red gem took form. He entered a combat stance when a hammer appeared, but kept his distance when Variscite said, "Don't kill!" ...Idiot. He glanced over at Fuscite. "I won't kill them. Maybe... crack... but no killing." He chuckled a bit after the small male red gem's monologue. "Well... I WAS... scrapping the place... for parts. And if you..." He paused for a few seconds. "Relegate age... to signifigance... then I... am the most... important thing... on the planet!" He laughed a bit more. A few minutes later, he stopped and stared at the two. You could tell he was much more serious. "Although if you go after Variscite again I will not hesitate to shatter you, grind you into dust, and polish my armor with you." He walked towards the red gems until he was only a few feet away. "Are we clear?" He spoke in an authoritative tone. (Rank up post so... LEVEL UP!)
Pyre's glare gradually grew more and more aggravated, eventually blurting out "You don't even know the first thing about fusions... Why is this planet full of ignorant pebbles!" he lets out a sigh, "We're both Pyrope gems, most fusions you've seen were probably a fusion between two different gems. When two of the same gems fuse it makes a bigger, stronger version of that gem. So, ya. No extra arms or eyes or whatever you were expecting." Pyre almost seemed upset by his question, like he was judging them or something. He was quiet for all of six seconds before speaking back up, "You think I meant you? I couldn't care less that I cracked you like that. Anything for the mission, anything. I meant Pye here, I assume you noticed that crack on her gem? Ya, thanks to you gems getting all uppity about Homeworld she got caught in the crossfire and was forced to deal with a cracked gem for years!" He was fuming now, an obviously soar topic for him. Pye coughed into her fist, "You seem to forget that you were there too, and that we were both sent to guard the Kindergarten, remember?" he turned to her, looking a little flustered for a minute, "Well, because... well... So what?! It doesn't matter that I was there, I wasn't cracked. You were the one who has had to suffer through it-" she cut him off, "Until now, since they helped us. I know it wasn't exactly easy..." she stopped, looking back at the two gems in front of them, deciding to save him some dignity and continue this argument elsewhere.
Pyre stared at Fuscite, barely containing himself as usual. This gem was worse than the other one, he was arrogant on top of everything else. But he could see skill when it was standing in front of him. And had planted a few blades into his chest all too recently. "Like you're something special, what are you? Some sort of ancient gem relic? Doesn't give you the right to erase our culture off this planet. No matter how much you all hate Homeworld. But..." he grimaced, but he knew he had to keep tensions down, and spoke through gritted teeth, "I understand, no more aggressive movements towards the youngling." He looked up at Pye, "Let's go, these gems are nothing but danger and a waste of time. And we'd be better off away from whatever disgrace of a shrine this place is." he finished with a disapproving gaze across the fountain, doing nothing to hide his open disdain for both the two gems and this rebel structure. Pye sighed, "Come oooooon. Stop being such a spoilsport. We don't have to run off just yet." she turned to the two gems, "Let's at least try to leave on friendly terms?" She gave a small smile, knowing the situation was more than a little tense between them all. Pyre just stood there with his arms crossed, watching the gems to see their reactions. There was no way he'd be the first to try and make amends.
Varis sighed seeing the little fellow get all worked up again, he had planned to say something witty in return but the more the little red gem spoke he started to get kinda confused, "W-wait... " He said holding both hands up, "So Pye gets c-cracked by another gem... and y-you know how sad it makes you both." He made a slight gesture between the two gems with one hand while the other is stuffed into his shorts pocket. "Yet cr-cracking the gem that t-tried to stop fighting between two H-homeworld gems... er... three Homeworld gems." He said as he nodded towards Pye with a slight smile... she seemed very nice and Varis had felt kinda bad to be pretty much almost the center of this conflict.
"That do-d-dont come across as strange to you?" He said giving Pyre a slight smile... thing did get out of hand far too fast and Varis wanted to try and make things alittle better. "movements towards the youngling." This stuck out to Varis... also the fact at how Fuscite was protecting him, not that Varis wasn't grateful just taken a bit off guard as he never had anyone looking out for him like this. "I m-may be young... to you all..." He said giving Fuscite a funny look as if saying "Specifically you!", "I have f-fought against a Metal... taken out far t-too many corrupt gems. Fought g-giants!" He seemed to get slightly more excited when it came to talk of battle. To Variscite you can be a super old gem but without a few good battle tales what do you have?
"Let's at least try to leave on friendly terms?" Pye seemed like the nicer of the two... though he figured Pyre most likely had a nice side.... and its name was Pye. "I w-will say... that hammer you t-two use? Is pr-pretty awesome! Its n-nice to see a gem using a h-heavy weapon." Slowly standing up and having to look down at the two shorter gems, he had seen all kinds of swords and blades... spears and even a 6-shooter! But not a lot of heavy types. He reaches to the back of his neck as his gem started to glow, a ring forms in his hand as he pulls out reveling a chain that stops as it seems stuck. With another good tug a rather large and dense crystal ball shatters out from his gem and reforms before hitting the ground with a noticeable "Thud!"
He smiles a bit looking down at his own weapon, "G-gotta respect a g-gem that can work with stuff like th-this." He said still holding a smile. He kinda wanted to ask more about fusion stuff but... maybe not wasn't the time to do that just yet.

Fuscite tilted his head slightly. "Arrogant?" He sighed. "I'm not arrogant. Only making ...statements I am sure I ...can carry out. And do you really... think insulting me ...is the best choice... right now," Fuscite knelt down. "Little one? And yes... no movements...towards Varscite." He stood up again, looking at the diamond on his chest. "I dont...hate Homeworld. It's just that...the Homeworld... I know...is most likely gone." He stood up again. "You see..." He stopped himself, as if he didn't like to talk about the subject. "Friends? Maybe...as long as...you don't...harm Variscite." He turned to look over at Variscite as he began speaking. He was complimenting the two on their choice of weapon. And he apparently had fought a Metal, whatever that was. And then Variscite summoned his weapon. Was he...? No, Variscite was just showing off. He looked back at the two small gems.
Pyre watched as Variscite tried to make sense of their previous encounter. He started tapping his foot and looking around the room, avoiding eye contact. Eventually he started grumbling before sighing and throwing his hands up, "Eugh, maybe I didn't mean to crack you alright? Maybe I acted a little hasty and shouldn't have swung like that, alright? Besides, it's your fault for tricking us like that, you should know better than to pull something like that on a gem you don't know." He crossed his arms and looked away again, and was... blushing? He seemed obviously embarrassed about the whole ordeal. Pye obviously saw this and giggled, poking him in the side. "Oh, come on! You feel guilty and you know it. My little Pyr-Pyr (Pronounced "peer-peer") feels guilty about hurting another gem! I never thought I'd see the day." As soon as Pye said 'Py-Py' Pyre stood rigid and a deep red blush covered his cheeks. He stood there frozen, staring ahead, embarrassed beyond belief as Pye kept laughing.
Eventually he cleared his throat and spoke up in a quiet voice, "I told you not to call me that in front of others..." Pye wiped tears of joy from her eyes, "Aw, I couldn't help myself. Can you forgive me." She shot him some puppy eyes as he frowned at her. Eventually Pyre groaned, "I can't stay mad at you and you know that." The mention of a 'metal' didn't seem to strike the two gems as anything special, though it was possible they just didn't know or understand what it was. However, as Variscite summoned his weapon, Pyre stepped in front of Pye again, fist clenched. He watched him, realizing eventually he wasn't trying to take a swing at them. Pye pushed past him and inspected the weapon up close, "Oh cool! I've never seen a weapon like this! Though the hammer part of our weapon is from Pyre here. I contribute..." She reached to the gem on her chest and pulled out a greatsword with a blade similar to the one of Pyrope's weapon, "... this!" She gave it a few experimental swings before shifting her weight on it, blade pointing into the ground. Pyre kept his stance, refusing to pull out his weapon for such a showy display. Weapons were meant for fighting, not showing off like trophies.
While Pye and Varis were trading weapons, Pyre turned to Fuscite, "Well, I have no idea how old you are but that doesn't mean we can't keep fighting for what it stood for. Even if we can't get back..." His last words seemed distant, like most Homeworld gems he wished for nothing more than to return back and keep working towards the glory of their race. Only the 'Crystal Gems' had delusions about this planet, as far as he knew. Who would want to stay on this ball of unprocessed dirt? He eyed Pye briefly but turned his attention back to Fuscite immediately afterwards, "I won't smack him around, alright? Consider this a truce between us." He didn't go so far as to extend a hand, but he meant it.
While holding onto his weapon he glanced back to Fuscite, the old gem seemed in better mood.... Varis couldn't help but wonder where this gem had been, he seemed so different but that's not something you can just up and blurt out! Fuscite may have tried to kill him when they first met... but if anything it was because Variscite was trying to protect a human... though that human had vanished he couldn't help but get this odd feeling. Like that human was... well... more then a human! Maybe playing a hum.... "Oh c-crap.... Morg was a g-gem!?" He mumbles to himself as he realized an old friend was secretly a gem this whole time!
"S-so thats wh-what that feels like..." He mumbled once again still thinking about that gem that played human to him for awhile when, "I contribute... this!" The tan skinned gem broke from his random daze to see the small gem pulled out a rather large great sword! While to him because of his height it didn't seem like too big a sword for him but at that gems size... pretty big blade! "S-so your weapons fuse too?" He asked looking at his weapon before back at Pye still holding a friendly smile. Varis really knew almost nothing of fusion... just that NORMALLY they would have four arms and more eyes... he had only seen one fusion before... didn't end well.
Varis saw Fuscite and Pyre have a slight talk by themselves... this was good! No more fighting... finally things calmed down. Turning back quickly to look at Pye, "S-so.... how did you t-two meet? Seems kinda.... different." He said as he moved his crystal ball a bit so he could sit himself down onto it. He honestly had more then a few questions he wanted to ask but... he figured just start simple... never know! Maybe they like talking about how they met.... or Variscite just screwed up yet again.

Fuscite slowly nodded his head. "A truce, then." He turned to face Variscite before chuckling to himself. "Go back to Homeworld...Hah!" He laughed. "Oh...wait...you are...serious." The old gem swiveled his head to see the small red gem. "How...old...are you?" Fuscite inquired. It appeared that Variscite had befriended the other small gem. Who had a large red sword to match. "You...protect and...guard...correct? That is...your...function?" Followed the previous question, sliding out of Fuscite's mouth like a bag of dice spilling on the table in Yahtzee!, which wasn't exactly silky smooth. Fuscite glanced over at the other small gem for a few seconds. Combat gems. Huh. There weren't really that many combat gems on Homeworld when Fuscite has left it. Then again, he was just guessing they were made for combat. He knew for sure that the two gems cares for each other, and had very similar names. One of which sounded like a human food. Crossing his arms, Fuscite sat down, becoming roughly the same height as the smaller gems.
Pye watched Varis have a moment to himself, seemingly having some sort of revelation. She didn't bother to press the matter, though his follow up question was considerably more... interesting, "Hmm... well it's uh... sorta like..." She scratched the back of her head, blushing a dark red, "It's well... personal. I mean it feels personal not like, as a topic. Uhm... When we're fused it's like we're looking from the same pair of eyes. Both aware of ourselves but simultaneously working together. You're both there, in the same body but you share the same experiences. Everything you feel, you taste, you think. Your senses and strengths are increased, even weak gems together can be strong in a fusion. So ya, it's pretty... intimate." (Yes, the description is different than fusions between different gems. Sort of a interpretation of what little info we learned from the 3 rubies.) she paused briefly, "And yes, along with our personalities (for the most part) our weapons fuse. Though a fusion can become unstable if the components begin to... argue. If that happens their personalities separate and eventually so will their form back into their separate parts. Well, at least that's with us two. I've never seen a fusion comprised of different gems, let alone done it myself. Not exactly something... smiled upon back home. In fact, any fusion for anything but combat is pretty taboo." She glanced at Pyre, she sometimes forgot that was one of the few Homeworld rules he broke.
Meanwhile Pyre kept a formal tone, giving no delusion that there was a possibility of friendship between him and Fuscite, "Well, in short, yes. We were made in a group, all sent off to different kindergartens as guards to ensure their survival. We watched over incubating gems, the setting up of new drills, etc. That and fought off any sort of resistance. Of course on this little ball of unused matter we had very little to worry about, so it was a boring few thousand years. We were here around the beginning of the prime Kindergarten, and spent a few hundred years waiting around on the planet we were formed. So ballpark estimate... five and a half thousand years? Though the last five thousand of those years were basically eventless. Save for the... rebellion." He glared at the statue of a large gem crying healing tears, "Then things got 'interesting'." He looked over to see Pye staring at him, quickly averting his eyes back to Fuscite.
Pye chuckled a bit at Varis' second question, remembering the story of how the two of them first met. "To be honest, we met when we were first formed on a distant planet. Though there was so many of us, we never realized it. And with all of us being pretty much the same at the time, it wasn't like we could distinguish who was who. It wasn't until we were sent to Earth that we got to know each other. We weren't meant to socialize with the others, sort of like the equivalent of human 'beef-eaters' if you're familiar. Sort of a 'stand still and keep watch' deal. Well, as you can imagine it got kind of lonely so we started to talk and started to well... develop feelings for each other. One thing led to another and we started to spend time together for reasons other than work..." Her blush deepened, her cheeks a dark crimson red, "Anyways! Since the Kindergarten was shut down we've traveled together. We keep each other safe, though he likes to think it's more one sided than that." She rubbed her arm awkwardly, "I suppose we are a bit different, we don't agree all the time but still... he tries. And he does care, it's really the only reason he's so aggressive." Her eyes widened a bit and she returned her attention to Varis, "Sorry, I was rambling again. Again, I tend to do that... Especially when it's a long and complicated story like that." She glanced over at Pyre again, a small smile spreading on her face again. Despite their differences, they really were close. "Well why don't you tell me about yourself, seeing as I talked your ear off." She sat down where she stood, just in front of Variscite. Might as well get some interaction in while Pyre was distracted.
Variscite nodded and stayed seated on his weapon, the little red gem could sure talk like.... a lot! The tall gem didn't mind though, he wanted to learn more about fusion and the two small gems seemed like a fountain of information... hmm, well maybe just Pye. The other one seemed a bit more on the hostile side out of the two, "T-thats uh..... a lot m-more then I thought was involved in uh.. f-fusion.... kinda a gem iv been w-wanting to...." His fingers playing with each other as he spoke and trailed off, he was going to try to ask some advice for fusion with a friend but couldn't bring himself to ask for "Fusion tips". He didn't want to poke his nose into the gems personal history and felt kinda bad about prying, so when Pye ask to hear about him he was happy to shed some light on himself. Not alot of gems have really asked him about his past...
"L-lets see.... I was made here on E-earth, never seen Homeworld.... Iv sp-spent about..." His neon green eyes drifted up for a moment as he seemed to think while snapping his fingers a few times, "Oh! Around a th-t-thousand years now... been all over this planet, one thing ill say... don't think humans are s-super weak. Iv uh... seen some of their battles..." It was true. While Varis avoided human conflicts quiet actively it was hard to not see it, the tan gem had witnessed WW1 and WW2, all the battles in between and after. "They can be kinda... s-scary really... everything from bombs to t-tanks... ships that cross the sea and some big uh... airplanes too!" Varis seemed both happy and just a bit sad at talking about human history, "Uh... sk-skipping a few things, I don't really have a c-cool story like you guys... Fu-Fuscite has been around for like... too long heh... his story would be better." He mumbled softly towards the end of his speech as he glances towards Fuscite before returning his gaze to Pye.
He smiles softly rubbing the back of his neck, stopping to leave his hand on his gem, "So.... I kinda w-wanted to say this before... but uhhh..." He looks between Pye and Pyre quickly before smiling brightly again, "You two are like.... just too cute t-together ya know that?" He said stiffling a soft laugh... this much interaction was good, he was happy to be speaking with new gems... even if it had to start with them cracking him, while he was playing a trick on them.
