Carbide perks back up, noticing the effect of the touch and lurches forward after a few moments of contact once hes straightened her back up, catching Agate in a playful headlock, and tousling his hair mercilessly "Ha Ha, yeah okay, i don't need you stalking me and firing arrows up my scent sponge whenever I try to take a nap, for a revenge plot. There's probably a few words to be had with him, but I'll do my best to be a polite proper home world gem about it."
She releases Agate's head and flattens out a few locks shes probably irreparably mussed up, her thoughts inward for a moment wondering just how much nearly 1000 years could change a gem who was so.. well established, or entrenched in his position in the gem hierarchy on home world, but that same 1000 years had seen her change quite a bit on both ends of the spectrum. Come what may she would have to make the best of it, the local gem community seems to be one of criss crossing connections, so things like faction lines and friendships were bound to make the upcoming months interesting.
"Well Agate, what now? We've feasted, fought, got some lumps, told stories and even managed to wreck some Home World property.."
While it certainly wasn't glamorous like the Sky Temple or Lunar Sea Spire, the Kindergarten served Spinel's purposes just fine. Whenever he lost control of his corrupt form, he would come here. A bright white beam emitted from the warp pad, dissipating just as soon as it had formed. Where it once was, a purple Gem stood. With a heavy sigh, Spinel stepped off the pad, and begun to fall. However, just before he hit the ground, his form glowed a bright white before morphing into the form of a large snake. The serpentine figure stretched once the glow had left, and a lighter, more pleased sigh escaped it. With the closest thing to a smile a snake could make, he moved away from the warp pad. He would journey the land until he had control of his corrupt form once more.
Over the few hours that the man-sized snake had been traveling, he went wherever the winding mesas took him. As he wandered, he begun to think of the past, something he wouldn't voluntarily do under normal circumstances. Soon, he saw two non-corrupts at a distance, and decided to have a bit of fun. He slowly approached the two, looking upon them with judgmental eyes. He stayed silent for a while, just awaiting their actions. Deciding this was not the best course of action a few seconds later, he spoke before the two could attempt to attack him.
"Are you lost?" He asked, a calm and polite voice resonating from the snake's throat. "No Gem in their right mind would come here off their own accord."
Aquamarine had been walking throughout the Kindergarden, no exact where-to in mind, when she heard a loud, thunderous boom that shook the very earth. Aqua gasped, looking up at the sky. "Fireworks?" She murmured to herself. But the sound had been much too close. Whatever made the boom, it was in the Kindergarden. The blue-green gem on Aqua's throat suddenly glowed, and as Aqua raised her hand to it curiously, her kusarigama was summoned from it. Taking the chain scythe, Aqua began to walk towards the direction of the sound, swallowing nervously.
As Aqua cautiously walked on, she heard another deafening boom, and a corrupted Gem flew past her. Aqua ducked behind a large boulder, watching as two Gems began to attack it. She was amazed when they defeated the beast. Perhaps... They could be what Aqua was looking for. They seemed nice enough, but Aqua didn't want to take any chances. She resumed her place behind the boulder, observing. But when a snake-like corrupted Gem appeared, she had to resist the urge to run. She had two choices: Run and get caught, or stay and get caught. Aqua was stuck between a rock and a hard place, except that the rock was three, possibly hostile Gems.
(( It seems there was some understandable confusion about the setting. As such I'm going to just retcon it and say Agate and Carbide left the house and were a short distance away talking or w/e
Agate was walking side-by-side Carbide, enjoying the view of the Kindergarten. Most would see it for no more than a bleak, dead, rocky cavern but he saw more than that. There was signs of so much activity here, from a age ago. Each hole a different gem, each drill a different tool used to make this area what it was. Of course on the other side this place sucked the very life from the planet like a parasite, but you know... take the bad with the good he supposed. He was so lost in thought he very nearly walked straight into a corrupted gem, stopping just a couple feet away and then rapidly took a few steps back. And then it uh... well it spoke. "Are you lost?"
He never thought a corrupted gem could be smart enough to not just fight anything it sees, let alone talk. Then he remembered something he was told long ago, "A rare few can change back..." this must be one of those few gems who had some control over their corruption. It took him a second to clear his throat and speak up, "I'm uh... ahem... I'm Agate. This," he gestured to the taller gem next to him, "is Carbide. A friend of mine. And I sort of live around here. What's your name, if you don't mind me asking? And why wouldn't gems want to come here? It's a little barren but it's not that bad." He made sure to keep a neutral position, avoiding making any advances towards the creature... erm... gem.

((Works for me Agate, lets get it rolling))
Carbide stiffens then shuffles a step ahead of Agate, putting her more durable form partially between him and this mysterious speaking serpent.. "Not in my right mind hmm? No big deal, I must be in my LEFT mind then, mental states aside, you should be cautious about gliding up on other gems like that, might give somebody the wrong idea.."
Carbide's 2600 years as a planetary scout on fringe worlds, and the subsequent 900 she had spent wandering until she got to earth had her encounter plenty of strange creatures and thrown her into more tense situations than she cared to recollect. One thing she knew, was when there's something staring you right in the face, there's probably more somethings, or some persons out there doing the same as well. Her ears strain, mentally cancelling out, even Agate's and the Snake Creature's words for a moment, until it hit her, that tiny little tickle in the ear of the ball of a foot shifting and scraping the sand and gravel. Her gaze locks in on a boulder some yards off, over her shoulder where, as near as she could discern, another figure remained ~almost~ silently crouching..
"Well then my small blue friend, it seems we've gone and drawn a bit of a party, wonder if they shared a warp pad, or took separate taxis.. You gonna answer my friend's polite request?" Her tone is direct, and calm, but not too aggressive, wanting to size up the situation some more before making any major decisions..
"I'm uh... ahem... I'm Agate. This, is Carbide. A friend of mine. And I sort of live around here. What's your name, if you don't mind me asking? And why wouldn't gems want to come here?" Spinel smiled. "It's nice to meet someone reasonable here in the desolation of the Kindergarten. My name is Spinel, it's a pleasure to meet you." With a slight pause in between sentences, he begun speaking once more. "In response to the last question, most don't find the empty holes and corrupts to be very soothing. I suppose I've generalized all Gems I meet in the Kindergarten to be insane and/or, uhm, undesirable personality wise."
"Not in my right mind hmm? No big deal, I must be in my LEFT mind then, mental states aside, you should be cautious about gliding up on other gems like that, might give somebody the wrong idea.." Spinel gave an audible sigh at the poor joke. "I didn't use discretion as wanted to find some people with a friendly demeanor as quick as possible."
He was about to speak again when he heard the same purple Gem speak once more. "Will I answer your friend's polite request? I believe I already did." He said with a snarky tone. "Your tone doesn't make you frightening." As he said this, he turned to the small blue Gem. "I suppose your politeness balances out her rude behavior." Spinel begun to chuckle. "I'm only kidding. You two seem like you are more than amiable." The whole time he spoke, he was unaware of the newest guest.
Agate chuckled, he was a little unnerved by this gem's presence but like everyone else he started warming up to him. "Aw, she's not so bad once you get to know here. Just a little rough around the edges." He gave her a wink, "But she's just trying to keep us both out of danger. Which I seem to find often..." He paused as if he was thinking deeply to himself, "Anyways! You're nothing to worry about, right? Sure you're um..." He gestured at his entirety, "That. In fact... I have an idea." He moved slowly and slowly reached out to him, making sure he had plenty of warning if he wanted to back off. If he was willing he touched the side of his face, his signature positive energy flowing through his hand. It was similar to a warm glow, like sitting by a nice fire. The energy rejuvenates the recipient and improves their mood, but the feeling was at the same time not overpowering. It felt as if with a little focus one could easily ignore it's effects if they wanted.

Carbide's expression softens a bit, watching Agate stride forward and make contact, so far she had been protective, and while a little surprised at first, she had not felt the need to summon her weapon or throw any punches. Given her plethora of strange encounters over her life, combined wither her innate instinct to gather information and perspectives, as befitting a heavy planetary scout, she is rather enthused to learn more about Gems remaining largely sentient following a corruption exposure affecting their gem core, having encountered gem corruption on more than one fringe colony world, her mind eager to piece together the common factors present on each world.
Was it an innate response to alien environments, or was it something literally being carried and incubated in Gems, passing from one wold to another through warp gate and star ship travel? A speaking corrupt... a lot could be learned from being able to communicate verbally with such an individual.
She lowers her form down onto a stout boulder sitting nearby, watching the contact between Agate and the Serpent Gem, chuckling as Agate quips "A lil rough around the edges", wondering what Agate's Positivity power will have on this creature. "Heh, alright, sorry, oh long one, I tend to be a lil.. protective from time to time, doesn't always bring out a level of voice and manner that would befit the courtly halls of the Diamonds back on Home World, shall we say. If it's all the same to you, I'm not looking for another throw down tonight, so.. truce?" Carbide raises two fingers, using an earth expression for peace, she had learned.

Fuscite tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to stabilize himself as he hurtled through the air. The old explorer had slipped up pretty big. He had returned to the floating islands, where he then encountered a very large aerial corrupted gem. One he had faced before with the aid of a different gem. But this one was WAY bigger. And a lot tougher. You see, Fuscite had been catapaulted in a sense by the corrupted gem. But as Fuscite looked tpwards thengeound, he could see a very familiar place; the kindergarten. As Fuscite rocketed towards the ground, he did the best he could to brace for impact. Which wasn't much, but still. He slammed into the ground, an odd mix of sliding and bouncing propelling him forward. Amidst the beating, Fuscite was thankful Homeworld had made the armor he was wearing this durable. Sliding across the wall, Fuscite gradually slowed down and connected with the ground not far from where the group was. He weakly stood up for a few seconds before a bright green light emanated from within the visor and the suit collapsed to the ground.
Aqua had been watching the three for some time, and it wasn't long before her leg began to cramp uncomfortably. She shifted her weight to her other foot, wincing as her shoe quietly scraped against the ground. As she looked back up at the group, she froze. One of the Gems looked in her direction, but, to Aqua's relief, looked back at the snake-like corrupted Gem. Hopefully, if Aqua was quiet enough, she would be able to sneak away. She slowly stepped backwards, careful to avoid rocks and dead twigs. Creeping out from behind the boulder, she kept a careful eye on the group of Gems. She was tense, ready to run if one of them saw her. But before she could advance a few steps, something blasted through the air, skidding across the ground before finally crashing. Aqua crawled frantically back to her hiding place, groaning inwardly at her misfortune.

( its okay, ill post now seeing as how Agate and Spinny aren't on and it would be nice to advance the story a bit)
Carbide snaps her head about in the other direction upon hearing the roar of an object flying or perhaps, falling through the air at tremendous velocity, spotting a green streak cleave the low hanging misty clouds that seemed to perpetually hang over the derelict kindergarten. As she focused she realized the green object had a roughly humanoid shape.. a Gem! Her eyes widen and her thoughts race at a grim realization ~"That gem is coming in way too hot and way too fast!"~ her internal monologue continues to run rampant as she turns to Agate and the corrupt serpent gem, as the sound of the gem hitting solid ground... a few times in a row.. assaults her ears. First this serpent gem, now the mystery gem watching from some where in the rocks, and whats this? another literally dropping in at what appeared to be twice terminal velocity?! "Grrr... this must be like the phenomenon the humans on this rock refer to as a 'Clown Car'! Agate, you and Spinel behave yourselves, Ive got to check this. If mr scales and teeth gives you trouble....ummm.. brace his mouth open with your bow, i dunno..."
Her voice trails off as Carbide has already broken out into a rapid dash, covering the roughly 70 yards of impact and scuff marks on the ground in seconds, to where a strange crumpled looking suit lay twisted into a reeeeeealy freaky looking pretzel shaped mockery of humanoid anatomy.. "Ohhh boy, Ooooooooooh boy, I hope whoever is in that thing is out darker than black on an Onyx, or there's gonna be a lotta noise pretty soon.."
She approaches the suit and touches it gently, finding it strangely... light.."The gem inside must have.. the impact.." She grasps the suits chest plates and straightens it out, prying open the visor with a creak and a hissing pop. "Gads, this suit is old, even by fringe world standards, dunno whether to consider it junk or valuable relic.."
As she straightens up the suit, she hears something hard slide and clank about inside it. Hefting it up to her shoulder she tips the suit upside down and to her relief, a gem falls out the open visor, apparently whole and unharmed, landing in her open hand. The soft green of the oval gem lit by the night sky through the path tore in the clouds. The gem feels cold and dark, whoever it was, must have gotten their bell rung something fierce, cuz this gem... is OUT.
As Agate held her hand out to Spinel, he moved away from it. "What are you doing?" he asked, and upon receiving an answer, he'd sigh. Turning to Carbide, he smiled at her words. "Yes, a truce would benefit us both, so I agree." He then turned to Agate, looking at his outstretched hand. "I suppose I've no other choice. I'll see if this works, but this is awfully risky for me." As he moved back into the touch, he felt the warm, positive energy coming from Agate's ability, and shuddered. Such horrible feelings, the cold and negative was much more welcoming for him. But as he thought this, his form glowed a bright white, and within seconds he was back into a humanoid appearance.
When the white reformed to the uncorrupt appearance and dissipated to reveal him, he looked down at his hands and laughed. "Well then, I never expected it to be so... Easy. It's been hard, as of late, to get out of my uncorrupt form. Thank you, friend." He then stretched out his newly reformed limbs, and sighed. "I must be going, however. I have much work to do. You two take care." He said, leaving them as the Fuscite crashed to the ground. Though he heard it, he cared little, as he wanted to get to his makeshift home of the Sky Temple as soon as possible.
Agate smiled at Spinel as he leaned into his hand, though he was still a little worried. He'd never met someone who could control themselves, at least to some extent, as a corrupted gem. It made him think back on the gem he captured, about the gem he shattered before that. Were they still in there? Could they see what they were doing, trapped in their deformed bodies? The idea horrified him. His attention snapped back to Spinel as he began to glow before his eyes. His serpentine body gave way to a normal gem, just like him. He always believed it before but now he saw it first hand, they really were gems. He lowered his hand and gave him a big smile, "Much better." His smile faltered a bit as he turned to leave, "Oh, alright. Well take care of yourself, glad I could help!" he waved goodbye before turning towards where Carbide left. The crash made him flinch, but he ran ahead to catch up to Carbide. He chuckled as he thought about how they first met, best he gets there to keep her out of trouble.

The gem did not just feel cold and dark. It felt...old. Just like the armor. It also felt worn, and in need of a polish. The gem wasn't extremely shiny, and was unlike most of the new gems today. The green oval felt different compared to newer gems as it sat in Carbide's hand, most likely due to different methods of production. Indeed, the suit was definitely old, older than Carbide, actually. As for Carbide's comments, Fuscite wouldn't take too kindly to his armored suit being called junk. Better not repeat that, lest you face the wrath of the ancient explorer. Which, to be honest, wasn't very pleasant tone on the receiving end of. The armor, unlike the gem, clearly showed it's age.

Carbide rises from where she knelt, the suit of armor slung across her shoulders in a fireman's rescue carry, its weight not slowing her movements, and the mysterious deep green gem, graced with patina and soft pitting, betraying its relative great age to the renegade scout, sits in the palm of her free hand.
She is perfectly capable of bubbling the gem, but at the moment has no place to send it to, and from what she glimpsed of the shape of this strange figure as it defiantly tried to beat up the bedrock using only their face aided by gravity, this was not a corrupted gem. So while whoever was inside might be in a bit of a mood when they re-emerge, she had no just cause to bubble or imprison the individual at this time, that and this armor, the more she looked at it, slung over her shoulder, the more its style and age were beginning to mesh with history and other batches of information she had taken in, shortly after she awoke in the experimental kindergarten back on Home World, nearly 3500 standard years ago.
Gem in hand she meets Agate half way, noticing that the corrupted gem, Spinel seems to have made his exit..."Hey there Agate, seems we've got a live one here, despite its rather... restful demeanor at the moment." She holds up the green oval gem between her thumb and index fingers, and hefts the armor a bit.
"Seems this suit wasn't quite up to the job of keeping our mystery guest on their feet, but then again, I don't think anything short of a Granite Class Gem could take such a hard stop after a drop that far...I think we've had a pretty old Gem land at our feet here, Kid."
Melody: how are you doing? Are you going to make a character in here?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
